PlasticKiwi Posted 2 September 2008 Posted 2 September 2008 Home strip: Blue shirts, white shorts.Away strip: White shirt, blue shorts. That's the way it should be. Totally mate couldn't agree more - old skool is the way to go - traditional like ..Red? WTF are you all thinking? The only useful thing to do with a Red Strip is chuck in an E and have a Red Stripe
Ultra Posted 2 September 2008 Posted 2 September 2008 Red is soooooooo unimaginative. There are enough kids wearing it as it is, given that it's the colour of three out of the big four.. Something a little more distinctive, recognisably ours, wouldn't go amiss, like the green/yellow 80s effort (although that was loathed at the time), or the black/turquoise Le Coq top from 2003. Oh, and by the way, the 80s Umbro kits (all three colours), although undoubtedly stylish, were a blatant ripoff of Rangers. I hope we never go down that road again.

Zingari Posted 3 September 2008 Posted 3 September 2008 i've watched a good few leicester city videos and footage of goals scored in our history, and for all the claims of red being just as traditional as white/yellow i didn't see any great moments where we were actually playing in red . i'm sure there must have been exceptions , but i can't find them

Plus football wasn't on the Tele/web quite so much as it is in recent times. I don't even know why I'm in this topic as I don't care really and I definitely wont be buying it whatever the colour.

Harborough casual Posted 3 September 2008 Posted 3 September 2008 my 10 year son still wears his red 88/90 leicester shirt, still in great condition.
davieG Posted 3 September 2008 Posted 3 September 2008 Age? Nah, well yes - anyone my age wearing a current replica shirt more often than not looks a twat, in my opinion. But I can see the logic in arguing for it but also that it doesn't tie in with newish supporters. I genuinely aint too fussed about the second strip as they mostly exist to make money.

davieG Posted 3 September 2008 Posted 3 September 2008 Totaly agreed,And dont you think a red would be a little odd. Nope, as I said I can see the logic in it. You obviously didn't totally agree with what I said or were you agreeing that I'd look a twat in a replica shirt.
Daggers Posted 19 October 2008 Posted 19 October 2008 Black is the new red. Black is not a colour - it's the absence of colour
Munzie Posted 19 October 2008 Posted 19 October 2008 Black is not a colour - it's the absence of colour Tell that to ninjas, nuns, fat people, puppeteers, funeral parlours and burglar's Hmmm......maybe you have a point
The Stig Posted 19 October 2008 Posted 19 October 2008 Black is not a colour - it's the absence of colour Where as white is the basic shade.
The Blur Posted 19 October 2008 Posted 19 October 2008 No chance As a modern fashion concious lad, I just don't look good in red Nottingham Forest would have a chant for us ready if we bum them and their kits
LoughboroughFox Posted 20 October 2008 Posted 20 October 2008 RED NO NO NO! just cant and wont sing red army if ever we wore 1! do like the black 1 we have now but when we come to play teams that wear black/blue ie Inter Milan were kinda screwed
Alexikokopops Posted 20 October 2008 Posted 20 October 2008 RED NO NO NO! just cant and wont sing red army if ever we wore 1! do like the black 1 we have now but when we come to play teams that wear black/blue ie Inter Milan were kinda screwed When do we ever sing about the colour of our away kit anyway Can you imagine thousands of Leicester fans singing "white army!". That'd go down a treat.
Webbo Posted 20 October 2008 Posted 20 October 2008 Black is not a colour Speaking as an expert, that is correct. Black, white and grey are neutrals.
The Stig Posted 20 October 2008 Posted 20 October 2008 When do we ever sing about the colour of our away kit anyway Can you imagine thousands of Leicester fans singing "white army!". That'd go down a treat. NIGEL PEARSONS YELLOW AND BLUE ARMY
Daggers Posted 11 January 2009 Posted 11 January 2009 Yea, we wouldn't want a red shirt. We wouldn't like to look like Forest. I say again, Milan - Admiral red kit, get it done.
Nick Posted 11 January 2009 Posted 11 January 2009 Yea, we wouldn't want a red shirt. We wouldn't like to look like Forest. I say again, Milan - Admiral red kit, get it done. I'd like a well designed, well made shirt with light modern breathable fabric 'dry-fit' stylee and call me consumerist but I don't want Admiral, Jako, or Le Coq Sportiff - these names aren't cool and make the modern day lad feel that they are wearing their dads hand-me down pants. We need something sexy. If they cost £49.99 and look the dogs bollox they will sell. If they cost £35 notes and have topps tiles and jako plastered on them prepare to lose money LCFC. And as an away strip I seriously don't mind RED, PINK (yeah, pink, I said it) GREEN or BROWN let's just have something like the Brazil or Italian shirts and not like the club shirt can already be found in LOROS or AGE CONCERN. And I don't give a crap if our away shirts are red like trees, white like rams or budgie yellow get a grip. N.
Webbo Posted 11 January 2009 Posted 11 January 2009 Slightly off topic but I'd like to see a brown and blue home shirt next season to celebrate the 125th anniversary .

N. so what you are saying is you are more bothered about whats on the right of the shirt than the badge on the left is that correct? It's the club badge on the right that is what it's all about anything else is insignificant
Nick Posted 11 January 2009 Posted 11 January 2009 so what you are saying is you are more bothered about whats on the right of the shirt than the badge on the left is that correct? It's the club badge on the right that is what it's all about anything else is insignificant Yes of course I'm saying thats part of it as with branding comes an association of quality, reputation and success etc as why Nike, Addidas, Puma etc are successful and considered cool. This is simple marketing strategy, knowing the age range and chosen associated generic conventions of ones target audience. What the **** are you on about insinuating that I don't care about the badge? That to me sounds like a weak and bizarre interpretation to have a go by extracting one sentence in my post. I credited you with a little more than that Jay. The badge wether it's a crest a circle or whatever should also be designed well and appropriately (I also have opinions on the design of this.) - And attached to a more attractive garment than produced in the past five years please. I want a LCFC shirt that looks cool. Yes I am bothered by branding, I do have Nike Trainers and not ones from Tesco's it's personal choice that doesn't have anything to do with my support or fickleness. If it's the club badge that so important to you we can ask Milan to go to Primark again get a bundle deal on some shit t-shirts and stick a badge on them and be sponsored by 'anusol' or 'vagisil' and sell it to you for £44.99 and then walk round and tell everybody it's all about the badge on the left and everything else is insignificant. If you gonna try and and have a dig, at least come up with an adult, coherent, persuasive argument and not just some random stabbing insinuations..........
