Fosse Boy Posted 11 January 2009 Posted 11 January 2009 I certainly wouldn't pay over £40 for any Leicester shirt, no matter how cool it looked.
Jay Posted 11 January 2009 Posted 11 January 2009 Yes of course I'm saying thats part of it as with branding comes an association of quality, reputation and success etc as why Nike, Addidas, Puma etc are successful and considered cool. This is simple marketing strategy, knowing the age range and chosen associated generic conventions of ones target audience. What the **** are you on about insinuating that I don't care about the badge? That to me sounds like a weak and bizarre interpretation to have a go by extracting one sentence in my post. I credited you with a little more than that Jay. The badge wether it's a crest a circle or whatever should also be designed well and appropriately (I also have opinions on the design of this.) - And attached to a more attractive garment than produced in the past five years please. I want a LCFC shirt that looks cool. Yes I am bothered by branding, I do have Nike Trainers and not ones from Tesco's it's personal choice that doesn't have anything to do with my support or fickleness. If it's the club badge that so important to you we can ask Milan to go to Primark again get a bundle deal on some shit t-shirts and stick a badge on them and be sponsored by 'anusol' or 'vagisil' and sell it to you for £44.99 and then walk round and tell everybody it's all about the badge on the left and everything else is insignificant. If you gonna try and and have a dig, at least come up with an adult, coherent, persuasive argument and not just some random stabbing insinuations.......... what I am saying is that clubs like Derby, Peterborough etc who have kits produced by Adidas have to buy the shirts from what is basically a catalogue of standard designs they can choose at the minute Jako pay to produce a our kits as our "technical supplier" If the club makes more money from a deal with Jako than being ripped off by Adidas of which I would imagine that even if and Adidas shirt is £44.99 and a Jako one is £34.99 the club would probably still make more from a Jako shirt. This was not intended as a dig but the simple fact is that for me and 1000's of others it simply doesn't matter if we have a shirt produced by Adidas, Nike, Fox Leisure, Mitre etc because we would probably still end up buying the shirt because it's a Leicester City Shirt and not because it's a Fox Leisure shirt or an Adidas one. Saying that I would probably cry if Lonsdale produced our kits and then die of shame so you are probably right in a way!!
Daggers Posted 11 January 2009 Posted 11 January 2009 ...not ones from Tesco's Bloody right. George at Asda is where it's at.

But you didn't say that you said something quite different and that's why my response was harsh. I have a different view on the other hand. The last shirt I bought had Alliance and Leicester on it. I also have several 'seconds' which do not have the sponsor name printed on it which are blue shirts and keepers tops with just the LCFC badge. I didn't buy a TOPPS Tiles shirt. I thought they looked shit. I put my money into the club elsewhere and purchased a retro shirt and a couple of pairs of shorts to train in. I have money to spend from 30-50 quid I buy tigers shirts also which have decent fit and designs and carefully selected sponsors. If the next City Shirt looks shit, I shan't buy that either. N
Daggers Posted 11 January 2009 Posted 11 January 2009 I didn't buy a TOPPS Tiles shirt. I thought they looked shit. I took to buying shirts once they'd been knocked down to a tenner - but I simply couldn't bring myself to buy one of our three strips last weekend because they are so incredibly bad. Here's hoping next season's supplier is a League apart to this one.
Zingari Posted 11 January 2009 Posted 11 January 2009 i quite like the colour of liverpools away strip , not sure what colour it is though , sort of greeny turquoise
crazylegs1984 Posted 11 January 2009 Posted 11 January 2009 red leicester i like the idea sounds good and i would most certainly wear a red leicester top
Nick Posted 11 January 2009 Posted 11 January 2009 red leicester i like the idea sounds good and i would most certainly wear a red leicester top Welcome crazylegs, its great to see a "new poster" getting on the forum with their first post coming straight out with such an important agenda. You do have a remarkably succinct and somewhat familiar narrative about you...... I think I recognise your handwriting also.
Finchy Posted 11 January 2009 Posted 11 January 2009 Slightly off topic but I'd like to see a brown and blue home shirt next season to celebrate the 125th anniversary . Like Cov's 125th year anniversary shirt?
Finnegan Posted 11 January 2009 Posted 11 January 2009 Speaking as an expert, that is correct. Black, white and grey are neutrals. White is a colour. 'True' black is an absense of light.
Fosse Boy Posted 11 January 2009 Posted 11 January 2009 Like Cov's 125th year anniversary shirt? I saw that too! But I agree, Blue and Brown halves would be a super retro look! Gotta love the Fosse.
Mr Happy Posted 11 January 2009 Posted 11 January 2009 A red away strip is just the ticket, it would need changes so it didn't look too much like Forest's but other than that I'd definately buy it
Guest Bilo Posted 11 January 2009 Posted 11 January 2009 Like Cov's 125th year anniversary shirt? If that's a Puma shirt, imagine the monstrosity that Jako would produce in those colours.
Zingari Posted 11 January 2009 Posted 11 January 2009 we should demamd the same rights as preston north end and never have to change strip , blue home and away and let the other feckers change
Webbo Posted 11 January 2009 Posted 11 January 2009 White is a colour. 'True' black is an absense of light. I wasn't talking about light, but colour as in pigments. Colour and design were part of my college course.
crazylegs1984 Posted 11 January 2009 Posted 11 January 2009 by what did you mean earlier you recognise the handwriting
The People's Hero Posted 12 January 2009 Posted 12 January 2009 Imagine life without cheese??!!! That's more existing than living, in my book. Have you read my book?
Finnegan Posted 12 January 2009 Posted 12 January 2009 Chelsea one week, 'Pewl the next? I'd rather not!
Fosse Boy Posted 12 January 2009 Posted 12 January 2009 Chelsea one week, 'Pewl the next? I'd rather not! I concur. I also want white shorts back with the home kit.
GLC Posted 12 January 2009 Posted 12 January 2009 Home: that kits better then the one we have so far but i want white shorts
Guest Bilo Posted 12 January 2009 Posted 12 January 2009 Home: that kits better then the one we have so far but i want white shorts Definitely white shorts with this one please. As A Fox in Essex says, Chelski one week and the Scouse the next is not good.
