James. Posted 3 September 2008 Posted 3 September 2008 Hearing rumours he's resigned. Don't ask me for a source or a link. I don't have one. On Sky News as we speak.
James. Posted 3 September 2008 Author Posted 3 September 2008 Resigned apparently.Thoughts? I beat you. Ha.
Koke Posted 3 September 2008 Posted 3 September 2008 You could sense from his interviews that he didn't really get on with the board. Selling Anton Ferdinand, while they are short on defenders wasn't the smartest move, was it.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 3 September 2008 Posted 3 September 2008 Football is losing sight of reality more and more by the day.
Uncle Albert Posted 3 September 2008 Posted 3 September 2008 There best start for 9 years, what a joke football is. Keegan to West Ham.
Flynny Posted 3 September 2008 Posted 3 September 2008 I bet thats upset anyone with money on Keegan going first.
The Stig Posted 3 September 2008 Posted 3 September 2008 Alan Curbishley has resigned as manager of Premier League club West Ham United. Curbishley tendered his resignation on Wednesday and it was accepted by West Ham owner Bjorgolfur Gudmundsson. The former Charlton boss had grown disillusioned at the club's transfer policy, which had led to the sales of Anton Ferdinand and George McCartney. The Hammers tried to justify the sales on their website, stating that they were "right for the club" and "based on our best long-term interests". The statement added: "In the past week, agreement could not be reached with Ferdinand on a new contract to replace his original deal that had just two years left to run, while McCartney handed in a formal written transfer request after failing to resolve his personal reasons for wanting a move away." From ye old BBC.
General Smuts Posted 3 September 2008 Posted 3 September 2008 I beat you. Ha. I beat off onto you. Ha.
lildave3 Posted 3 September 2008 Posted 3 September 2008 Forced out. Shame really, best manager they've had since Harry Redknapp.
Tabou Posted 3 September 2008 Posted 3 September 2008 Sam Alladyce will take over by the end of the week.
Wasyls Pec Deck Posted 3 September 2008 Posted 3 September 2008 seems ludicrous... the people that run football clubs (well some of them) just don't have a clue... that shoudn't be taken as a swipe at Mandy btw
Bryn Posted 3 September 2008 Posted 3 September 2008 He's not right for them anyway, he's had a fair bit of money and he's not bought particularly well if you ask me.
Guest Posted 3 September 2008 Posted 3 September 2008 Blimey! I'm beginning to think there may be some serious challengers to our crown for most managers in a season this year
Darkzzz_ Posted 3 September 2008 Posted 3 September 2008 It was always on the cards. Curbs was marked from day one. West Ham is another tough job to keep.
dandannieldanok Posted 3 September 2008 Posted 3 September 2008 A lot of their fans deserve this kind of crap tbf.
Corky Posted 3 September 2008 Posted 3 September 2008 A lot of their fans deserve this kind of crap tbf. My thoughts entirely. When they are doing well it's a great place to be at, but when things aren't going well, it's vicious and hostile. If they are like this after a tenth place finish and six points out of nine, what will it be like if they are 19th?
Matt Posted 3 September 2008 Posted 3 September 2008 Martin Allen to West Ham?! Used to play for them. Although Slaven Bilic was the tip well before the season wasn't it?!
Tilley Posted 3 September 2008 Posted 3 September 2008 Absolutely bloody ridiculous Hello Mr. Croatia.
Thracian Posted 3 September 2008 Posted 3 September 2008 So long as it's not hello Mr Pearson I don't give a toss who takes over.
Joinesy77 Posted 4 September 2008 Posted 4 September 2008 Harsh on Curbishley as I thought he did a good job at West Ham, especially taking into account all the injuries. The Board should stay out of footballing matters. It was obvious the board was interfering way too much, it could never work. Good luck to whoever the new manager is trying to work with that Board.
Unabomber Posted 4 September 2008 Posted 4 September 2008 Martin Allen would be a brave/hillarious choice.
