The Reverend Posted 13 September 2008 Posted 13 September 2008 Personally I disagree. For a start whenever I see someone posting one of their first posts I say welcome...but obviously that's not what you mean. You talk about this clique....i.e. the regular posters....TPH, Mablo, Ched, LD3 etc... Would you rather they pretended they didn't know each other? The first post suggests that like all newcomers are hated or whatever, but i think you're just generalising it. I doubt any posters on here are 'hated' and in a few examples a few newcomers might get questioned about something or be the subject of a joke or two but that's just life. I've been on here two years and I've had a lot of stick, but am I going to make a thread to say 'he's picking on me 'cause I'm a newbie'? I'll give you lots of exapmles. About a year ago, when I was still technically a newbie, and I'll concur with it actually looking back at some of my posts then....I was a bit of an annoying twat. For a few months I went over the top to try and make every post funny, which was obviously naive and pissed a lot of people off. I think it was Walkers who picked me up on this (and I'm glad looking back that he did), told me that it annoyed him etc and rightfully called me a pr*ck. He didn't make a new thread about it, or PM me, he just replied to one of my posts and said what he thought...I learnt from it. What if he hadn't of done that? I would of just continued to be a pr*ck, unaware it was annoying the tits out of everyone. I learnt from it...moved on, didn't make a thread about how I wasn't being accepted in the FT world etc 'cause it's bollocks. At the end of the day, it's all banter...If you can't cope with it, then you really don't need to be here. In my case, there's lots of examples: My whole girlfriend issues/lovelife etc, the Faryl Smith and 'i like 12 year olds, i'm a paedo' thing, the fact that I thought the world was going to end....and there's more blah blah blah. So? I'm not going to cry about it and PM them or make a thread to slag them off. While I'm on it, some people have said that being younger than most people (sort of 15/16) means you're not taken seriously, people don't listen, people take the piss more etc, which i've never really understood. If this is true, it's only because as the 'younger' ones we make more naive comments...that if not picked up on we'd continue to do. I don't think anyone can be a regular poster on this forum but never get replied to, or never get picked up on something. So what if you're not in this 'click'? I'm not, and does it stop me getting along with some people....? If you can't take banter, and would rather people 'adopt a sence of decorum and humility rather than take the p1ss of those less fortunate, vunerable, excited about current situations' then you're in the wrong forum. If we all adopted a sense of 'decorum and humility', this might as well be a Jane Eyre book club or something. A lot of people include banter and whatever. It's hardly ever taken that far, or out of context. In fact, it's only taken far or out of context when the poster subjected to the banter can't take it. Great post Nussul. Perfectly summed up.
Zingari Posted 13 September 2008 Posted 13 September 2008 the click , who the fook wants to be in the click or clique being an out of the loop annoying maverick twat is where its at

lildave3 Posted 13 September 2008 Posted 13 September 2008 What were your views on it Davey. Can't remember, it was a while ago. And bollocks am I reading it again.

Whilst an interesting post, I feel you have taken my initial post rather to seriously, however maybe it's led to you getting that rant out of your head, as you clearly needed to air some views. I quote There is a click on this forum, and I guess rightly so, for those who have been posting on here for a length of time, met up, been home and away with Leicester, however! My post wasn't generalised at any one groups in particular, but I still stand by what I said and it wasn't even about me just a generalisation of the board...I have made posts on here, whilst they may be over looked (unless there in the betting thread), was probably because it was sensible answers I posted and not really anything debateable! What i found most intreguing about today after writing a drunken post (and admitted twice it was drunken) that when I went into live chat i was told to 'Sling my hook' this coming from a forum leader, certain members typed 'Lets just ignore him' not mentioning names but, had a been a lil more younger, a lil more niave, a lil more sensitive I possibly could of vacated the boards, with a bitter taste...but no matter.. There are a couple of decent people on here who I've been chatting to for a while (Maybes seems a decent lad) and we'll possibly meet over a beer, game of poker, or watching Leicester play...in general like i said, some posts I find amusing, some i find just f00king stupid as most others probably will.....however I feel being told to sling me hook, and to be ignored is rather taking things a step to far, and justified why i wrote the thread!

I'll readily hold my hands up to this one. I'd hoped that the and that followed that comment would have made it clear I wasn't being serious, but you obviously haven't taken it that way. Apologies, because I genuinely didn't mean to be insulting in any way and thought of it just as light-hearted banter. Sorry.

I think you are taking this all a bit too seriously and to heart. If you'd met any of the Mods you would understand they are all really nice and you are simply misunderstanding humour as a personal attack.

I never quite know how to take when nobody responds to my posts, is it because people think I'm talking shit or is it that there's nothing to add. Probably a bit of both. I can understand how you might feel that people only pay you attention when you're giving racing tips. Personally I can't think of a time when I've spoke to you about anything else. That doesn't mean I don't read your posts or think what you say isn't worth bothering with.Usually it's because I've no knowledge of the things you're talking about (ie. poker, spread betting etc) and I have nothing useful to add. It's certainly nothing personal mate.
Alexikokopops Posted 14 September 2008 Posted 14 September 2008 Stuff Excellent post. As was yours Nussull (I thought I'd clicked quote but it turns out I didn't). A general rule of thumb is to take nothing I say seriously. Especially if the post has " " in it.

Guest Posted 14 September 2008 Posted 14 September 2008 They are superior to you. They can do special things. I can do all of the following.
Libertine Posted 14 September 2008 Posted 14 September 2008 I was pleasantly surprised with this. Being an Adam Sandler film I was expecting much, but it turned out half decent.
syston_fox Posted 14 September 2008 Posted 14 September 2008 I can do all of the following. I can't bend my thumb as far back as the second one. And now it's bloody sore from trying!

Guest Posted 15 September 2008 Posted 15 September 2008 Ooo kinky. I can't bend my thumb as far back as the second one. And now it's bloody sore from trying! Doh! There is a test for hypermobility that incorporates three of the above, plus a couple of other tests. I thought I scored 4 maybe 5 out of 9. I was told I got 9 out of 9.
Zingari Posted 15 September 2008 Posted 15 September 2008 I can do all of the following. if i tried to do any of those, there would certainly be a click , and a very painful one
General Smuts Posted 15 September 2008 Posted 15 September 2008 I was pleasantly surprised with this.Being an Adam Sandler film I was expecting much, but it turned out half decent. I hope i'm in the Click. Anyway enough about this shit, we need more threads about pasty faced, long haired types and homo eroticism! Why has this thread not turned into a big gay farce yet!
