Guest ttfn Posted 13 September 2008 Posted 13 September 2008 you want to bring Hendo back for his distribution? the man is as bad if not worse That's not what I said. hendo is a bad distributor but not that bad
Joe. Posted 13 September 2008 Posted 13 September 2008 Can we just accept that neither keeper is perfect? They're both as bad as each other if you ask me...
Tilley Posted 13 September 2008 Posted 13 September 2008 Can we just accept that neither keeper is perfect? They're both as bad as each other if you ask me... *Waits For Marton Fulop bandwagon*
Father Ted Posted 13 September 2008 Author Posted 13 September 2008 you want to bring Hendo back for his distribution? the man is as bad if not worse At least when Hendo kicks the ball it stays in/goes to where it's meant to go. He also kicks the bloody ball out of his hands! He also communicates with his defence and is aware.

He also communicates with his defence and is aware. Hendo's kicking is just as woeful, he has a decent throw on him but never uses it
Benji Posted 13 September 2008 Posted 13 September 2008 They are both as bad as each other but with Hendo it seems like he will only look shaky once or twice in the game. With Martin every time the ball came in I thought we'd conceed.

Paddy Posted 13 September 2008 Posted 13 September 2008 hendersons kicking is a lot more accurate. Howard has to run 10 yards everytime martin kicks the ball, that shouldn't happen. Apart from poor kicking he hasn't done much wrong. Although he was caught out of position for millwalls goal today, two centre backs were there, he had no reason to come out off his line.
Tilley Posted 13 September 2008 Posted 13 September 2008 6th place. Our game in hand will take us up to 3rd, if we win.
lildave3 Posted 13 September 2008 Posted 13 September 2008 Martin 5 Gilbert 5 Hobbs 6 Morrison 5 Powell 6 Gradel 5 King 6.5 Oakley 5 Dyer 6 Howard 6 Fryatt 6
dandannieldanok Posted 13 September 2008 Posted 13 September 2008 Martin 5 Gilbert 5 Morrison 4 - (I like the lad but today he was dogshit) Hobbs 5 - (Really unsettled by their strikers, nervous performance) Powell 6.5 - (Calm and assured, the only player to talk and organise and come out of the game with some credit) Gradel 4.5 - (Poor crossing and the play-acting became tiresome, not much positive impact at all) King 4 - (Looked lost in a crowded midfield, never asserted himself) Oakley 3 - (Shit captain, performed as poorly as he did all last season especially in the 1st half) Dyer 5 - (Tried to spark attacks with his pace but lacked support and strength) Howard 6 - (Felt sorry for him, he may as well have chopped off his feet because his teammates only aimed for his head) Fryatt 4 - (Crap, too many touches and they weren't very good anyway) Tunchev 5.5 - (Slightly better than Hobbs and Morrison, still didn't impress at all) Dickov 4 - (Too slow) Campbell 4 - (Too shit)
Tilley Posted 13 September 2008 Posted 13 September 2008 Oakley 3 - (Shit captain, performed as poorly as he did all last season especially in the 1st half) Would love DJ to get 90 minutes.
The Reverend Posted 13 September 2008 Posted 13 September 2008 Martin 4 - Complete toss. Whats Hendo done? Shit kicking, and shaky as a shitting dog. Gilbert 5 - Looked ok until he went off. Morrison 4 - Worst game for us. Garbage. Tunchev in the centre please. Hobbs 5 - A bit better than Morrison. Put him with Tunchev. Powell 5 - Solid, dwells on the ball for ages though. We need better. Berner please. Gradel 4 - A marked man. After last season, opposition are keeping a close eye on him, doubling up on him at times. I cant remember the last good league game he had. He needs to improve. King 3 - Non existant. Cant remember him finding a blue shirt, and when he did it was in our half. Oakley 3.5 - Slightly better than King, he found 2 blue shirts with his passes. Dyer 5 - At least he tried to take people on. Fryatt 4 - The Fryatt of old. Ball greedy bastard.Needs to get his head up. Howard 5 - I thought he was one of our better players, won quite a lot in the air and when he didnt, he was fouled. Hardly got a decision from the ref though. SUBS: Dickov 3 - Rubbish. Not a winger. Start him in place of Fryatt please. Campbell - Should of done better with his effort. Tunchev 6.5 - Best player for us on the day, he's too good to be shuffled around to accomodate him. START HIM AT CENTRE BACK. Nige 4 - Didnt have the tactical nous to counter their physicality. MOTM strikes again though.

FleckneyFox Posted 13 September 2008 Posted 13 September 2008 Martin - 4.5 - What does Hendo have to do to get a start, i dont rate this kid. Gilbert - 4.5 - Hard to judge didnt do much of note in his 35 mins Morrison - 4 - Made quite a few errors today Hobbs - 5.5 - I thought he looked decent, comfortable on the ball and always sticking a foot in to clear the ball Powell - 6 - Used his experience well, made next to no mistakes and i was confident when the ball was around him Gradel - 4.5 - Never really got going, didnt beat people enough and a couple of poor shots/corners King - 6 - Was decent in my opinion made some decent tackles and was confident on the ball Oakley - 4 - Where was he? Dyer - 4.5 - See Gradel Howard - 5.5 - Had a decent game, won some headers, was chasing the ball more, a couple of poor through balls though Fryatt - 3 - What was he playing at? absolubtly useless today Tunchev - 5 - Never going to go forward, surely would of made sense to stick Hobbs/Morrison at full back Dickov - 4 - Starting to think hes a waste of wages, 1 half decent cross was all he did of note Campbell - 4.5 - Looked dangerous in his 10 minutes got a couple of shots away.
Tilley Posted 13 September 2008 Posted 13 September 2008 I must say, Michael Morrison & Matt Oakley, should be ashamed of their performances.
Mikey Posted 13 September 2008 Posted 13 September 2008 Martin - 6 Gilbert - 6 Morrison - 5 Hobbs - 7 Powell - 6 Gradel - 6.5 King - 7 Oakley - 5 Dyer - 6 Fryatt - 6 Howard - 6.5 Subs: Dickov - 6 Tunchev - 7 DJ - N/a
James. Posted 13 September 2008 Posted 13 September 2008 I am feeling pretty lazy but I'd still say 5 for everybody is about right.
Thracian Posted 13 September 2008 Posted 13 September 2008 Martin 5.5 (One decent save but nothing else) Gilbert 2 (Totally lost concentration in failing to take a simple pass from King which lead to their goal and as he went off injured (broken heart?) afterwards, his single relevent contribution was a bad un and he's lucky to get two). Hobbs 6.5 (Solid enough) Morrison 4 (Woeful. At fault for the goal and his distribution was just like Kisnorbo's, hit and hope and it was mostly nowhere. One of the key reasons we lost was that we found ourselves under pressure, lost patience, lost self belief and started lofting the ball to Howard. And Morrison was one of the worst culprits). Powell 5 (Okay defensively but offered sod all going forward. He's effectively half a left-back so he's got half marks. It makes me highly suspicious of why people have been so generous to him thus far). Gradel 5 (Wherever his mind is it's a long way from The Walkers. Two or three decent crosses second half but he was generally disappointing. Stopped genuinely trying to take his man on and that was one of the few ways we might have unlocked their mass defence. Pearson has to believe in him and tell him to keep trying again and again. Early crosses are okay occasionally but beating the full-back and drawing a central defender is what was needed. And I don't like him blaming other players for his mistakes however good he undoubtedly is). Oakley 4.5 (Apart from one aggressive tackle second half it is hard to remember anything positive from Oakley. He had most of the attacking burden from central midfield today and simply didn't threaten). King 6.5 (MoM for us even at this poor level. He was the only player who kept trying to play the ball contstructively along the ground whatever the situation. Started well but self-doubt crept in when Gilbert missed his pass though he was in no way to blame. Indifferent early second half but took a more defensive role when we went three at the back and he immediately blossomed again making one vital clearance and doing much to clean up and set our attacks in motion. His only corner might easily have produced a goal and he sent a shot wide from one of our few clear-cut opportunities). Dyer 4.5 (Disappointing. Never really posed a threat, never looked up for a battle and his dead ball kicks were abyssmal. How he'll ever keep Porter out against a decent team I don't know). Fryatt 5 (One of our few players to look sharpish but nothing worked for him and the problems he has dealing with better players stood out once again). Howard 6.25 (Won stuff in the air but never posed a real threat and the team suffered from trying to play so much though him). Subs: Tunchev 6 (Inconsequential on the day. I just wish Pearson would play him at centre-back and be done) Dickov 5 (Huffed, puffed but made no difference). DJ 5.5 (Only had 10 minutes but should have had more because his elusiveness was just the thing that might have unlocked Millwall's massed defence). Pearson 7 (Tried everything to attack the game when things went wrong although I'd have given DJ longer. Had I been rating his coaching staff though they'd have had been blasted, and especially over our corners and free-kicks. From today's evidence they're drawing money for nothing because there wasn't any evidence at all that we'd either worked on devising different free kicks or on practising them).
Ajax Treesdown Posted 13 September 2008 Posted 13 September 2008 Martin - 4 Gilbert - 5 Morrison - 4 Hobbs - 4 Powell - 5 Gradel - 5 Oakley - 5 King - 5 Dyer - 5 Howard - 6 Fryatt - 5 Dickov - 5 Tunchev - 6 DJ - 5 = WE WERE CRAP! Millwall deserve the win

I'm going to make it my mission, of course with your permission, to spend a match sitting next to you. He did absolutely sod all until 75 minutes, he made that strong challenge and it bolstered his confidence a little but up to then he was completely out of the game. Sometimes you give me the urge to get a copy of the match, disect it and jam a big fat hand on every mistake, but then I realise that I haven't got a week spare for a full 90 minutes.
