Corky Posted 7 February 2010 Posted 7 February 2010 Played in a 5-a-side tournament this evening, lost four out of five group matches but considering the team had never played together before and the others seemed to be club sides we did okay. Battered one team and lost 1-0 and in the last match, helped knock out some mouthy twats by not rolling over as they hoped.

They did ask me but I'm back on the injured list again. I've never recovered from my bad injury last year. Did they not notify the Leisure Center?? I dedicate more of my time to Cadiz now, rotating the GK jersey between Peasley from Worlds of Trouble and myself. We suffered out first ever defeat yesterday when we lost 2-0 to FC Barnes. They are just an efficent 5 a side team, you can see why they've won that league for about 10 seasons running.

I don't think those two are playing next season, so I'm not really sure what the future holds for XL! I seem to be only fit to play as a goalkeeper and XL don't need one of them as they have Ricky! I'm not a fan of playing off walls or indoor anyway, that tennis ball moves to quickly for a Gk. I'm getting old and my reactions are slowing down! I think the outdoor at Hermitage is where my future lies, suits me a bit better. On another note, SHOCK those two were in the pub!!

dandannieldanok Posted 14 February 2010 Posted 14 February 2010 Started the new season today. We won 1-0 and I bagged my first goal in 6-a-side . Lucky win though, we just didn't play well at all and fortunately our keeper was brilliant. If I had been in goal we'd have lost without a doubt.

Taz? He was always temporary for us. Our keeper Jamie had a bad knee injury, so Taz was filling in for us. Jamie's back now, and even grabbed himself an assist today. He's got a mega throw on him. Also, we thought Taz was trying to sling games for us a few times last season, what with his Crosspatch connections etc. It's easy to score past him, just blast the ball at him. We've not done the dirty on him, we wouldn't do that - Taz knew what the crack was from the start. Got a good chance to boost our goal difference next week, so we'll be hoping for a win there.

Would say the boys who win our league every year would be good bets to win it, they concead about a goal a season despite playing in the same league as teams who play their 11 a side football at a good level on a Saturday. But I'm guessing it's six a side format and thrown ins ect as opposed to a closed court which is where they could come undone. Plus theres the fact they can't enter this years
