"Your support is f*cking shit!"

As did everyone I knew at the game aside from Mr.WatchedanothermatchFez who declared the second half to be "exciting" by text.

I'm convinced I must have been at a different ground.

This sort of attitude is why the atmosphere is so shit IMO. Today especially second half we had midfielders breaking beyond forwards, one-touch passing football, a solid defence and a win. I think Leicester fans will always have this "oh, entertain me, entertain me" attitude and even when it happens, they want more goals or there's always a scapegoat.

From the way Hartlepool played in the JPT I thought we would really struggle to win today - they looked really decent going forward and James Brown is a cut above most forwards in this league (and quite a few in the league above) from the two games I've seen of him (and that's without even scoring). But we actually did really well and it's a pleasure to watch players like Tunchev and Dyer who have their direct opponents on a skewer all game.

Today wasn't a foregone conclusion by any means - they have a decent side and looked dangerous when Brown was running at our defence so the threat was there.

I can't understand our fans sometimes. The way Dyer and Adams (obviously to lesser effect but they are the two most positive attack-minded midfielders we've had for years and years) were getting forward today, I think it's embarrassing that our fans can't sit back and enjoy that sort of attitude.

Maybe we should go back to the lop-sided anti-football of last season.

Aha - so it's my fault the atmosphere was shit then?

Damn - at least now that I know I can stop going.

Yeah. It is.

But one person doesn't make an atmosphere and it's that sort of "entertain me, oh 1-0 against Hartlepool, this is boring" etc attitude that pervades the whole stadium. I've not even been particularly critical of that attitude in terms of the atmosphere - realistically it's not going to be glorious, deafening support from 17,500 Leicester fans for a home game with Hartlepool but it would certainly be better if more fans could appreciate an organised, balanced, well-functioning side trying to play attacking football and doing pretty well so far. I don't know about anyone else but certainly from where I am, I hear ten moans about giving the ball away for every one bit of praise even if we are generally playing very well.

Now, Tuesday night. That was ****ing boring. Not today.

I agree with Fezzler on this.

We have endured absolute dross for a long time and now just when (albeit in division 3) we are serving up some better quality exciting football from a youthful team, the expectations are still not being met for many.

During the second half, I thought that we had one of our better spells of football apart from the finishing but despite that we still have the best goal difference in the division. Although it is early doors, we are placed well in the table and a win on Tuesday sees us go top.

What more exactly do people realistically expect?

Despite what was on the face of it an entertaining game I found myself bored from about the 15th minute onwards, the game seemed interminable and the half time never ending.

I've no idea what caused it but my son and his mate felt the same.

Yeah. It is.

I'm not denying it was an entertaining game and that both sides put on a decent display but I have to admit I was bored, I don't know why because I've seen some terrible games these last few years and this was in a different league.

But something was missing perhaps it was all the empty seats around me although I've really enjoyed games on the park where I've been the only spectator. I really can't explain it but that's the truth of the matter :dunno:

KilworthFox on Leicester City Fans and their vocal support.

Leicester City fans have a decent range vocally, from Woeful to Wonderful. I have seen both sides to them. I remember Burnley at home last year that was Woeful! I also remember Barnsley away and Fulham away, Wonderful support and as some on here say "the best in the country on their day"! Agreed and the guys from Stand up sit down can testify too ask SUAS!

The problem is that we believe that we have an ability to make the players play better the more we sing. This may help a little when we play the big fish like Villa at home, I seem to remember! But in general any side in which, we on mass feel we will struggle to beat, the fans will vocally back the side. We will also sing if we really need a win or are in a real tight spot.

Unfortunately this coin has another "dark" side which is that now we are in Division 3 we feel that we are soooooo massive that we do not have to give the players this wonderful advantage of vocal support. When Leeds come down the fair weather singers may find their voice but it will not matter as we will get out sung but a good away support anyway, but the regulars will do our best to keep our end up

I don't sing because I believe if I hit xxx decibels that will equate to a goal, I do it because I enjoy singing at the football! The vast majority do not think like this however!

To be honest out of 17,000 not many were bothered and Daggers you have wasted your own time writing this as mate they just aint bothered unless they feel their football team is inferior to the oppositions.

Today was not shocking just some apathetic fans were themselves.

Show some appreciation? For the morgue that the Walkers was yesterday? Get a grip.

The atmosphere was poor. This is no disrespect to the team. We are playing much better this season, it's the fans. I get the feeling that without any direction, a lot don't know what to do. Either that, or they are expecting us to play like Brazil every week, which isn't going to happen. As Fez said, Hartlepool looked decent in the JPT game up at their place, so I don't think it was ever going to be an easy game. However, I don't think it warranted 80 minutes of apathetic support.

I did manage to get a rousing chorus of "Ring of Fire" going especially for Teeno.

Oh i saw a Danny Baker look a like in the sawn and rushes today, would that have been you?

:giggle:

Nope - I was the one looking like Tara Palmer Tompkinson.

I thought Tuesday night was well good

We played so well for the first 10 minutes.

Got the goal, could have had, perhaps should have had another one or two, then were flat for the rest of the match.

I thought our defence looked so poor, we allowed Hartlepool a lot of clear cut chances, and were extremely lucky not to concede at least 2 goals.

I hope we go out and confidently beat Colchester 2-0 on Tuesday and go top

It you want a balls-out standing, singing, chanting atmosphere...go to an away game.

With a (just over) half full stadium and a league one fixture, it's never going to be Stamford Bridge when Arsenal are visiting.

The only time I can honestly say that we've had an electric atmosphere at the Walkers is against premiership opposition or when the place is full (cheap ticket offers etc).

Let's hope both situations return soon.

that tends to water it down even more, especially if its something like kids for a quid

Bored? Atmosphere crap because we are winning? I feel like I'm in the twilight zone.

lol!!

I'm so glad I didn't bother going. I even had a free ticket. I went for my first non-league experience (I've been conference a few times but this was way down the scale).

I went to see Coalville Town vs Stafford Rangers in the FAcup 2nd Round Qualification. It was actually, very surprisngly, quality!

£6 instead off £22 (Well I had a free ticket at leices, but those were the adult prices). No bother from stewards! Standing!

No Morons coming just to moan at the team and their wages. Everyone was out to enjoy the day.

Abusing the opposition goalkeeper for 90 minutes is hilarious.

Pitch invasion as they won 2-1, and Stafford are 4 leagues above them.

Your right next to the players as well, which I really enjoy. The players seemed like decent blokes and came and drank with the fans in the clubhouse after. We even got free cakes :D:thumbup: I was very sceptical about going, but must say it was a very top, top day. More reasons not to go to the walkers! :sweating::ph34r::wave:

Whaat, even I've been lower than the Conference before

I thought you surely would have seen Barrow or someone :P

Barnsley last season was the last time I can remember them doing it. That was a good atmosphere :)

the support yesterday might not of been great but it was alot better then the millwall game, we didn't sing once, it was crap support and a crap performance.

Something wasn't quite right yesterday. We got the early goal, but I felt de-motivated for some reason. The atmosphere and attendances weren't great, and the performance looked flat in the first half. We improved in the second but it wasn't perfect.

Hopefully the atmosphere, and attendance, will improve in the next few weeks.

Really? I remember that as being really weird because we were 2-0 and no one really seemed to care. I spent most of it talking to Fez, Knighton Matt and Holly rather than actually watching the football.

We had a nearly full stadium and the noise levels were definately increased. The mexican wave had the desired effect and the crowd were generally encouraging the team rather than moaning about every mis-placed pass. It had a feel good factor about it - but then again, that could have been down to the pre-match drinks kicking in!

Atmsophere was very poor sat, especially in L1, I for one was extemely tired having got in at 5AM, trained under 8's at 10 and then went more or less straight to the match.

Think the early goal seemed to have the opposite effect on the crowd for some reason.

There was one decent 10 minute period of banter with Hartlepool boiiiiiiiiis but apart from that and a few half hearted ring of fires, it was non existant.

I have a completely different memory of that game! That one stuck out for me as a poor atmosphere, haha.
