Floating Fox Posted 23 October 2008 Posted 23 October 2008 I like to stand and sing as much as others on here at games but for some people, they actually go to the walkers stadium to watch some football rather than for the atmosphere. Of course we all go to watch the football, but if we're honest, it's not at any good standard. I don't see the point of coming to see poor football, and not showing any passion. If you want to see good football, watch the big tits on the TV. The views are better, its cheaper, your not freezing your bollocks off etc. If you've come to SUPPORT YOUR team, get behind the ****ers. I'm quite worried what the future will hold. I had to get the last bus home from the match, and they'd been a nappy night at Zanzibar, and all the kids coming out of there were asking for football scores, there was more people interested in the Manure score than the city score thats for sure. And to be fair, I can see why they wouldn't care about our club anymore, Its pathetic. Atmosphere CVT? Taxi is leaving mine at 10:45 ish for some pre match beverii. I seriously hope thats not a proper taxi. You do realise i refuse to pay to get to coalville don't you? And Yeah I'm sure we'll discuss this on friday (fook me thats tomorrow already, what have I done all week ) at mine? Yeah? Good man. I dispair.I'm so glad I couldn't make it because nothing winds me up more than moronic cunts booing and moaning. I tend to slap them on the head. I have it on good authority you would have been directly behind me if you'd bothered turning up. It was bad enough with just Tom
Guest Posted 23 October 2008 Posted 23 October 2008 not at all I didn't boo, but I understood why they did I don't. It's not like the players on the pitch suddenly think "oh crap, we're playing the game wrong. I think we'd better start playing better!" In fact, the opposite tends to happen. It's like the players are thinking "shit, what the hell do we do now? I know. If I hoof it somewhere near their goal, hopefully Fryatt or Howard can use their blistering pace and get onto something". Which we know will not happen. And so the vicious circle continues..... But still, people have paid good money to contribute towards it. I salute you.
davieG Posted 23 October 2008 Posted 23 October 2008 Fans' group leader Cliff Ginnetta has slammed the "boo-boys" who turned on Leicester City's players this week. Some sections of the Blue Army were heard voicing their displeasure during Tuesday's draw with Walsall at the Walkers Stadium. Ginnetta, chairman of the City Supporters Club, said: "I heard it coming from a section of the Kop and there's no room for booing – we've all got to stand together and get behind the team." He believes that some of the home supporters are frustrated because City's away following have yet to see them lose on the road in League One. Ginnetta added: "I think there's probably a bit of jealousy involved. We've had such a great time on the road. "Then, the fans who don't tend to travel away for one reason or another, turned up at the Walkers on Tuesday and felt a bit let down. Admittedly, it was a frustrating night but booing the players is not helping." Ginnetta says that City's players "looked nervous" as Walsall upset the form-book to claim a well-merited point. He said: "There was a lack of atmosphere at the ground – it was only just over half-full – but, if the team come out of the blocks quickly, that will be something the fans can feed off. "We've got a local derby against Northampton on Saturday and the fans need to be right behind the team." Lance Tomlyn, of the Independent Supporters Association, however, has defended the supporters' right to boo their team. He said: "The fans pay the money and they are entitled to their opinion." Tomlyn says the booing was picked up by only a "small minority" of fans, and has attempted to explain the reasons behind it. He said: "The big problem is that City play so much better away from home. "The frustration resulted from the expectancy following three excellent results away from home. Instead, we turned in a sub-standard performance. I'm sure that (City manager) Nigel Pearson would not have liked hearing the booing, but I think he's big enough to appreciate how frustrated we were." Tomlyn admits there can be a "muted" atmosphere at City's home games, but added: "The make-up of the Kop has changed. The lads who like to jump up and down and make a racket now occupy around 10 rows at the back." But Tomlyn dismissed suggestions that the atmosphere at City's previous Filbert Street ground gave them the edge. "That's a bit of a view through rose-tinted glasses," he said. "I don't think the atmosphere at Filbert Street was that great and it used to be referred to as 'The Library'." Tickets for Saturday's clash with Northampton are on general sale, and City have an allocation of 890 tickets for Tuesday night's League One trip to Brighton.
Narborough Bod Posted 23 October 2008 Posted 23 October 2008 I don't. It's not like the players on the pitch suddenly think "oh crap, we're playing the game wrong. Asha Posted 23 October 2008 Posted 23 October 2008 I found it really disgusting as well tbh. Sitting in the kop, with everyone around me booing. But what the fcuk can I do? I think the 'we're playing better away' excuse for the booing is rediculous. Surely that should be a good thing....'oh we're only getting a point here but our away form will make up for it or something'... If people really are jealous of those watching away games because we play better away, then surely they should get themselves to a few? I have - on 3 occassions already this season - it's not that fcuking difficult...if they're that jealous. While i'm on a bit of a rant, the majority of the kop are an absolute joke. I moved there basically expecting a decent atmosphere, possibly standing. I'm near the back of SK3, and the atmosphere is non-existant. Basically everyone waits for either L1 or the SK1 area to start a song and then follow...when I try and start something it's almost completely ignored. I can't stand up because the people behind me like to sit (which is fair enough and all) but I'm only about 8/10 rows from the top. Every matchday in my area though starts with a chant of 'Leicester...Leicester...Leicesterrrr' followed by a minute where everyone racks their brain for another song....before singing 'Leicester...Leicester...Leicesterrrr' again. Then comes a random 'Du du du du Matty Fryatt' and then 'Theres only one Max Gradel' completely forgetting about the REAL Max Gradel song. I've never been in the kop at Filbert Street, unfortunately. I'm guessing the difference to now would make you sentimental about it.
Simi Posted 23 October 2008 Posted 23 October 2008 One of the many reasons I moved from the Kop. It's full of complete morons, I can't see why people are surprised to be honest. Not sure why these dingles even bother to turn up.
leicesterseddon Posted 23 October 2008 Posted 23 October 2008 That would be apart from liking the goal music or not minding it I take. That would just make them idiots as far as you're concerned. Yes it would make them idiots. Just like the people who booed....i did say i thought the booing was 'stupid'. And yes people do have a right to like/not mind goal music if they pay their money. But i can still think it's stupid.
Raj Posted 23 October 2008 Posted 23 October 2008 "all ths stuff about Cliff Ginetta and that Lance Armstrong bloke" I like Cliff Ginetta. But it just shows the human way that 2 opposing supporter groups' spokesmen have different views regarding the booing.

Corky Posted 23 October 2008 Posted 23 October 2008 I've heard many crap excuses for booing in the past but the one about "the away form is better than home" takes the title of "Crappest Excuse for Booing".

Raj Posted 23 October 2008 Posted 23 October 2008 I think this may suffice: I would like to apologise to the Children of Foxestalk for the above image of a man just warming up his Tennis serving hand before he...erm...serves an ace... Thats all it is......nothing else.....

Raj Posted 24 October 2008 Posted 24 October 2008 Thats right Children of foxestalk...uncle daggers is showing you all an animation of a chirpy young lady using an invisible elctric toothbrush to get to them awkward places in her rather succulent looking mouth.....

Munzie Posted 24 October 2008 Posted 24 October 2008 Bam. And the grime is gone. Do you think she rinses or swallows?

I'm guessing the difference to now would make you sentimental about it. I sit in the Kop and would love to defend it but the whole experience makes me lethargic. I'm probably 3-4 rows in front of you, sat with a load of people who used to sit in the Double Decker. That's the main problem, you've got aged fans who have been going for years mixed with half of the people who want to sing / used to go in the Filbert Street Kop, and the other half have moved to the East Stand... And we're pretty fcuked now. The Away fans will never be moved back to the Kop end of the East Stand so anyone wanting to sing may as well move out of the Kop. Only problem is where to??, because there don't seem to be many spare seats near Jobber and his mob. The only option is for the FT crowd to organise a post season change so that everyone in the Kop moves next to the away fans. Pretty sad considering the history of the Kop, but if you want an atmosphere we've all got to be in the same place.
leicester ghost Posted 24 October 2008 Posted 24 October 2008 surround the away fans enclosure, north stand and l1, keep up a barrage of 70s,80s,9os and noughties songs throughout the game, keep singing even when the teams struggling, i'm sure someone can come up with the words to the songs, the old ones. the atmosphere at filbert street was'nt too bad, you had the kop, east stand and decker, also the mainstand and blocks of the wingstand all singing.
