Bert Posted 30 September 2008 Posted 30 September 2008 Both played in the 3-0 reserve match victory against Rushden and Diamonds. Joe played 45 minutes, and Kisnorbo played 60, which is excellent news.
Raj Posted 30 September 2008 Posted 30 September 2008 We gonna piss this piss poor pissing league now. Have it!
Fox You Forest Posted 30 September 2008 Posted 30 September 2008 Great news. An hour is an excellent effort after so long out.
davieG Posted 30 September 2008 Posted 30 September 2008 OS Leicester City defensive duo Patrick Kisnorbo and Joe Mattock made a successful comeback from injury in the Foxes' 3-0 reserve team victory over Rushden and Diamonds at Nene Park on Tuesday afternoon. Kisnorbo had been out of action since April with a knee injury, while Mattock had been missing since the end of August with an ankle problem. But both players came through their return match successfully - Mattock lasting 45 minutes and Kisnorbo being replaced on the hour mark. City goalscorers on the day were Billy McKay, Eric Odhiambo and Robbie Burns. Speaking after the game, reserve team manager Gerry Taggart said: "It was great to see both Paddy and Joe back in action. It has been a long road back for them, especially for Skip, and to get back on the park is fantastic for both them and the club. "We were originally due to play Notts County at our training ground, but they pulled out and we therefore had to arrange another match at short notice. "Rushden have been fantastic hosts and we have to thank them for coming to the rescue and letting us use their superb stadium at such short notice. "It was a decent game played at a good tempo. These games are great for our youngsters and they will certainly come away from here having learnt something today." City: Pentney, Magunda, Garner, Kisnorbo, Mattock, Odhiambo, Cox, Beswick, Porter, McKay, Sappleton.
Ric Flair Posted 30 September 2008 Posted 30 September 2008 Quality. We really do have an embarrassment of riches at the back. 3 left backs that are all solid at this level and then 4 centre halves that are keen as mustard. Just the one right back though, which is probably for the best given the numbers everywhere else!
dandannieldanok Posted 30 September 2008 Posted 30 September 2008 Great news, especially regarding Kisnorbo, I think he and Tunchev could be a quality pairing. Both will have major battles on their hands though to regain a place in the team.
JoeyB Posted 30 September 2008 Posted 30 September 2008 Brilliant news, things can only get better eh for them 2 anyway
James_lcfc Posted 30 September 2008 Posted 30 September 2008 That's fantastic news! Possibly not for Powell/Berner/Hobbs/Morrison but you need competition for places to keep players on their toes and we certainly have that! Good times
Mark Posted 30 September 2008 Posted 30 September 2008 Defenders don't excite me, especially when we have them in abundance and the best goals against without them.
Ric Flair Posted 30 September 2008 Posted 30 September 2008 Defenders don't excite me, especially when we have them in abundance and the best goals against without them. Well, we could argue that Kisnorbo is known for the odd goal or two and Mattock going forward is better than Powell. So a little more exciting surely?
Lovejoy Posted 30 September 2008 Posted 30 September 2008 Unless we ship 2 or 3 in a game or concede on successive occasions, I wouldn't bring either back in to the first 11.
Thracian Posted 30 September 2008 Posted 30 September 2008 Unless we ship 2 or 3 in a game or concede on successive occasions, I wouldn't bring either back in to the first 11. But they will. Biggish value players when they're fit and active.
JakeShingler Posted 30 September 2008 Posted 30 September 2008 Unless we ship 2 or 3 in a game or concede on successive occasions, I wouldn't bring either back in to the first 11. But can we aford to let that hapen
Candidcamera Posted 30 September 2008 Posted 30 September 2008 The talent that these two have got will be a great asset and you don't sell the family silver. Oh and welcome back.
lookwhaticando Posted 30 September 2008 Posted 30 September 2008 If Kisnorbo plays a few games perhaps we could flog him in January. If not, he can just walk at the end of the season, can't he?
