Thracian Posted 4 October 2008 Posted 4 October 2008 Our problem is gonna be our lack of physical presence. We need a nasty bastard in the middle of the park. We have 11 footballers, but none who are ready to get dirty and die for the cause. Ummm...you mention these hard cases but we keep winning even away from home, we're top of the League by three points and the mauling Lions of Millwall lost 4-0 to MK Dons at home today.
ousefox Posted 4 October 2008 Posted 4 October 2008 Great game! I think we just deserved the game on the whole and another great performance from the fans.
Granno Posted 4 October 2008 Posted 4 October 2008 Any1 know why Howard, Hobbs, Hendo & Morrison all had black eyes?? Martin Allen putting in a cameo in the dressing room
SamL Posted 4 October 2008 Posted 4 October 2008 Decent-ish game. It's a shame Fryatt didn't put away his chance in the first half, but he didn't let his head drop so fair play to him. It's a shame Howard got robbed again, he looked so relieved when he scored but got it taken away. Lloyd is our saviour yet again.
Guest Posted 4 October 2008 Posted 4 October 2008 Unbelievable game. It wasn't pretty, but when the winner went in (which, for the record, I was expecting to see landing on top of the net, not in it) it was like all those last minute winners against us in crappy, scrappy games had finally been laid to rest. If you get my gist. Hearing the tit on Talksport going on about how biased the ref was....what a numpty.
SamL Posted 4 October 2008 Posted 4 October 2008 Any1 know why Howard, Hobbs, Hendo & Morrison all had black eyes?? I can't say I noticed but, I heard there was a little kerfuffle in the hotel last night. I'm not sure exactly what happened, I'm just repeating what I got told, I could be wrong.

SantiagoFox Posted 4 October 2008 Posted 4 October 2008 Just got back. A game of two halves, but a fine ending! And a Beer Festival near the station. Perfection! Hope Potter and chums enjoyed it after the match.

Is that literally all you know/heard, or do you know if it was "in the camp" as such (i.e - A player had a bust up with another player in the team) or something kicked off (Outside the team) and some of the lads just went in to help and ended up with black eyes? Also, who did you hear it off?

My friend was informed by one of the stewards in the away end. Apparently, one of the players had a little scuffle with an ordinary member of the public. Although it doesn't explain how all the players mentioned have black eyes. As I said, it's just a rumour. I'm probably wrong.
Hullfox Posted 4 October 2008 Posted 4 October 2008 Awful conditions today. Huddersfield seemed to adapt better at times and I thought we struggled badly to keep the ball on the floor. King was the biggest culprit but he never gave up. I felt sorry for Howard today. Every time he dropped short, the ball was put nowhere near him and the wind just didn't allow high balls to him to be judged properly by the passer. However, the fight that we showed to win that was worth the entrance fee alone. Not a fan of the left side /right side thing a lot of the time but I thought that today it was excellent, it's rare that a song shuts up the rest of the ground but today it did. Also, if you were the kid sat on row x seat 84, your knowledge of football is equivalent to my personal understanding of the female mind (non existent). Good to see the FT Massive out in numbers.

Doing it properly helped, although it was funny seeing the kids videoing it on their phones! No doubt a few versions will be on youtube before tomorrow!!
Fez of Mahrez Posted 4 October 2008 Posted 4 October 2008 Very difficult conditions, very scrappy game, it seemed impossible for either side to put their foot on the ball in midfield and pass it around without it bobbling up or a pass going astray. Anything in the air was unpredictable. We really struggled for large parts, I thought. They had a 4-5-1 and won the midfield battle first half. Their long throws in the second half were a huge threat and Dickinson was causing Tunchev and Hobbs all sorts of problems but ultimately I think the centre-backs did well considering the circumstances. I was impressed with Huddersfield overall, they seemed to be making the most of limited resources (although they have signed a lot of players, I don't think they have spent much) and were playing to their strengths (literally). I can see them ending up comfortably mid-table. I didn't think Oakley was in the game at all. Whether we can still play this ordinarily and keep winning remains to be proven. Lloyd Dyer is an absolute superhero. I thought it had landed on top of the net too, at first. Then I realised it had gone in and hared off down the stairs towards the pitch with half the away end. Feel a bit for their fans as I think they definitely deserved a point but I won't be losing too much sleep over it. Superb entertainment second half and a genuinely ecstatic moment again. Loving this, City. Keep it up. Doing it properly helped, although it was funny seeing the kids videoing it on their phones! No doubt a few versions will be on youtube before tomorrow!! I videoed it as well, but ended rather abruptly when they scored. Rude bastards.

Fez of Mahrez Posted 4 October 2008 Posted 4 October 2008 YouTube it anyway? Have never put anything on there before. Probably will. Also got Fryatt's penalty - and his free kick at Cheltenham from a while back.

At very least get them up on your FaceBook so we can have a butcher's! Would love to see the right-side-left-side if it was as good as is claimed.
