maddog Posted 12 October 2008 Posted 12 October 2008 http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/i...als/7666008.stm What people don't seem to understand is he's not just being booed for his backpass, thats just an excuse to boo him. He's being booed because he's a complete and utter twat and the public hate him, including me. He cheated on Cheryl Cole, he only went to Chelsea for the money, he shouts and swears at the refs, he's just a fooking arsehole. He's also extremely over-rated and frankly not half the player he was at Arsenal even though he's now being paid twice as much, tosser. Thats why he gets booed. I hate him. Boooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!
Tevez Posted 12 October 2008 Posted 12 October 2008 yeahhhhhhhh that's right. Booing the best English left back when we were 2-0 up. Why didn't we boo Carson or Robinson for fooking up Euro 08 if it's going to be like that?

Boooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!! He's also extremely over-rated - by who? Are you saying he's not good enough for Chelsea and England? He cheated on Cheryl Cole, - Cheating on your wife is hardly unique - not that I've done that (holier than thou tone!) He only went to Chelsea for the money, - ditto most of the Chelsea team He shouts and swears at the refs - as do most players of Chelsea, Man Utd, Liverpool, Arsenal... the list is never ending. So why were they booing

At the moment, I don't think we have a better alternative to Cole.

Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 12 October 2008 Posted 12 October 2008 Maybe Cole is a twat, but negative attitudes, and booing, will hardly spur the team on to want to play for the crowd. It's all fair game on the club circuit, there's rivalries so of course it will be done by opposition fans. But you should never boo your own players, be it on the club or international scene.
Daggers Posted 12 October 2008 Posted 12 October 2008 But what do you REALLY think? His post simply reconfirmed that he doesn't.

So why were they booing I agree and I read online (telegraph for my sins) that apparantly he's the best left back in the world???? I wonder how much Dutch, french, Italian, Spanish, German football these journalists watch to make that assumption. Nope he's english and plays for Chelsea that must mean he's the best.
lildave3 Posted 12 October 2008 Posted 12 October 2008 Still the best left back in the world for me. Evra.
Bert Posted 12 October 2008 Posted 12 October 2008 Evra. Still the best left back in the world for me.
lildave3 Posted 12 October 2008 Posted 12 October 2008 Yeah, i was saying for me it's Evra. Just in my usual lazy way

sdb Posted 12 October 2008 Posted 12 October 2008 he's been pretty average the last few years, what with Mourinho banning full backs from crossing half way. But he's looked great again this season at club level, he's one of the best LB's in the world - certainly top 5 imo. He's an annoying little bugger but the booing was shameful. It's so embarrassing that people do it - but it's a) part of the fake fans at england games trying to over compensate for not having a clue and b) because he has been such a nob at times before that people are happy to slate him in such a way for an error.
Bert Posted 12 October 2008 Posted 12 October 2008 Also, if people had half a brain, they should judge him on his performance (Also how many people here have done something in life that was completely stupid? I know i have.) Granted he made a mistake, but i think every footballer has. He always plays with heart and soul for club and country. One of the reasons why England have failed in recent years is due to over the top/un-necessary criticism, because things haven't got 100% perfect.

And this set of players aren't going to want to play for people that boo them. You'd think people would realise and get behind their country but apparently not.
Tommeh Posted 12 October 2008 Posted 12 October 2008 Cole along with bosingwa have been a major reason to chelsea's good start. He's really been showing what a good player he is. What his personal life has to do with anything I don't know, surely we want our 1st choice left back to do well. Booing was completely out of order but I suppose their the sort of fans the new wembley attracts.
Maybes Posted 12 October 2008 Posted 12 October 2008 I much as I dont particularly like the fella, booing was an absolute farce.
Sparky Posted 12 October 2008 Posted 12 October 2008 I much as I dont particularly like the fella, booing was an absolute farce. ^ that
Lovejoy Posted 12 October 2008 Posted 12 October 2008 Ashley Cole is a poor man's Gael Clichy. Even though I wouldn't have booed Cole there, he's a knob jockey, and everyone knows it.
