Walsall Post Match Thread

I might have expected us to win tonight but still we didn't lose. Interesting to hear how we played from those that went. ;)

Yes, I would like to hear how we played. Good to see Tunchev score, all the goals from the defenders are useful.

Sorry, not good enough.

We can't take it when teams close us down and get physical, & that is exactly what Walsall did.

We were too quick to keep passing it back to Martin, who is crap, I'm afraid.

Howard should have scored, Fryatt may aswell have not turned up.

Oakley & King looked ok, but we are not creative enough.

Need to improve for Saturday.

Fryatt was crap.

Instead of bigging himself up in the Mercury, why doesn't he get on the training pitch.

Sounds like we created more than enough chances to win this. Shame our defence, who have been solid up to press, have let in a couple of soft goals because other than that, it seemed like they created very little.

Was disappointed with the lack of options on the bench, resulting in throwing on defenders when we're trying to win a game?! I didnt agree with Thracian when he was bemoaning people seeing the point at Oldham as a good point (we cant win EVERY game Thrac!) but this is undoubtedly a case of 2 points dropped in a game we should have won.

Not then end of the world and im sure we'll bounce back but there is plenty of food for thought for NP on the back of this result.

Looking forward to hearing the views of those who made it to the game......

The annoying thing with Fryatt is he's, from what I've heard, frustrating to wacth. He can look disinterested, lazy etc etc, but he's still managed to bag a few goals so far.

He's not in the best form at the minute, but is Hayles any better, what with Dickov and DJ injured? I'd have liked to have seen MCKay, Sappleton, or even Kee on the bench tonight.

I think a Chambers / Howard partnership could be potentially brilliant at this level.

On another note, it was a fairly low attendance again. If it doesn't go up on Saturday the club has to do something to get the missing fans back.

Lucky point.

We scored from two set pieces, and second half, that was the only way we were ever going to score. Half time was the worst thing that happened to us today.

I think we can be thankful we actually got something from tonight if I'm honest.

We passed the ball to death..... im all for passing football but not when its slow,,,,in the first half we played the same move from the back at least 10 times it was so painful to watch...... we were to slow. livened up in he second half bit more pace, we just need to push forward a bit more, glad we showed enough spirit to come back though

Howard missed 3 very good chances!

We didnt play well but should have won at least 4-2 IMO.

Oh, and those that booed when Tunchev passed it backwards - You are Tw@ts. :frusty:

According to RL, after the game, it was Hobbs that got booed.

Dull, dull and dull. A point was the most we deserved to be honest and there was next to no creativity. I'm sure that our possession figures will look favourable but we did nothing with the ball. Fryatt had an awful game but wasn't the only one and our defence was caught napping for both of their goals. Gradel looked frustrated but did show some flashes of his ability so was probably one of our best players, though that's damning with faint praise.

Improvement needed I'm afraid.

Ok, does that really matter??

It was Tunchev..

Just saying.

I don't think they were booing the individual, just the negativity & lack of invention of the whole team.

Looked very out of sorts for long spells, and only started playing with any urgency after the second equaliser. Is this our crap spell? At least we didn't lose.

The boo boys were out in force tonight - I cannot believe how quick people are to get on the team's back. We might have gone top of the table tonight, but because we didn't play as well as some would like the braying hordes have to make their feelings known, further depressing an already flat atmosphere. This is a new thing - 10 or 15 years ago the team had to be REALLY shit for it to happen, whereas now people start booing if they're not winning. It's turning into Old Trafford.

Lisa! I'm sorry I couldn't hear you. It must have been like trying to talk to someone's Grandad. I think you were either saying to me something about my run, or that you had the runs. One or the other

agree with you on chambers, dont agree with you on Howard - I think its one of the mysteries of the modern world that big steve has so much support on this site - I think he's crap - he was signed mainly for his aerial prowess and he just dont score enough with his head - the first half miss tonight had everybody wondering how, and it was a shame cos it was a superb build up which should have led to a simple headed goal - just dont get the Howard thing at all and really never have
