That miss of fryatts was the worst miss ive ever seen. Ive seen them blasted over and miss hit but he hit it as hard as he could and it only just reached there goalkeeper and that was one of his hard shots, he was probably pleased with it.

These strikers are shit forget radio leicester and the sodding birch there crap and will go down unles something is done because they never look like scoring. The midfield is a joke also what is the point of oakley he is piss poor.

Don't start, he was shocking. Sometimes I go overboard and exaggerate how bad he is on here to get a reaction, but he was not good enough for League 1 today let alone any higher.

The offside flag went up for our goal about 20 seconds before king put the ball in and most of their layers had stopped (yes he scored a great header the other day but this is today). That ''perfect pass'' was the only pass out of 30 he made all day that went to a blue shirt.

Perhaps you should watch a replay.

King didn't see the offside flag and defenders were trying to block his effoirt.

Another point about his performance today was touching the ball away from their big striker as he was going to blast the ball for a likely goal from about 12 yards or did you miss that too.

King was involved in lots of things today but it is time we stopped giving ourselves a handicap and got some more speed and skill in our side.

If necessary we should play 4-5-1 because we cannot continue using both Fryatt and Howard if they're not going to score because the rest of their game is pedestrian and cumbersome.

I appreciate the invention of new words.

*cough*

Actually it didn't get much better than the way the pilot controlled that helicopter in the gusting wind to give the fans a salute.

Or more interesting than the presentation of a 70th birthday shirt to Michael Morrison, the guy who has the market stall next to mine...

Hell the game was bad!.

You have a market stall?

Michael Morrison is 70?

Sorry?

Do you know me? :dunno:

I haven't got a fucking clue who the fuck you are.

That is probably my favourite post on here ever.

lol

But on a serious note we've drew 3 times, I fail to see the crisis or whatever, we've not bombed down the table.

Maybe its because I havent seen us play in these last few games.

The team is seriously out of form - and has been for a while.

At the moment, it's not clear that Pearson knows how to turn it around.

Sure I do and the Mike Morrison aged 70 is the namesake of our centre-back. He's a draper who's had a market stall for years, succeeded his father so I gather.

Er, thanks for the insight.

But I'd of prefered a response from somebody who isnt as miserable sounding as you normally are.

I think that's a bit over the top if I'm honest. What about all the open goal misses over the years? Never watched Akinbiyi play for us then?

You make me laugh. We've drawn three games on the trot and you're talking about getting relegated? We'll win on Tuesday night and it'll be promotion again. It's funny how quick people's opinions change.

And what was the result in THAT game?

The crowd got behind them, yet we still lost. Birmingham were on a high, riding high near the top of the league and we'd just started our managerial merry go round. It's hardly something to go by is it?

What about all the times when the crowd's got behind them and we have played well? Preston away 06/07, Barnsley away 06/07, 07/08? Or are we just talking about home games here?

Cobblers denied as Foxes hang on

Published Date: 25 October 2008

Ryan Gilligan was denied a penalty at Leicester City as Northampton Town took a deserved point from a goalless draw at the Walkers Stadium.

The home side were booed off at both half-time and full-time as they failed to see off a spirited Town outfit who had their fair share of opportunities to win the game.

Bayo Akinfenwa spurned the best scoring chance of the first 45 minutes and worryingly limped out of the game mid-way through the second half.

Town survived an edgy first 10 minutes to produce some good passing football, silencing the home crowd in the process.

Akinfenwa's chance came on 23 minutes, a header from Abdul Osman's cross which should at least have found the target.

Danny Jackman should have done likewise later in the half when a good move saw the full-back into space on the overlap, although he elected to cross rather than shoot.

But – a Karl Hawley daisy-cutter apart – neither goalkeeper had to make a save and the teams went in level at 0-0 at the interval.

The second half was pretty open and brought plenty of excitement at both ends.

Town were denied a strong shout for a penalty when Aleksandar Tunchev collided with Ryan Gilligan, and they came close to scoring when a flicked Chris Doig header just missed the back post.

Leicester, too, had their chances, with a goal ruled out for offside and Matty Fryatt having an appeal for a penalty turned away after a clash with Mark Hughes.

:giggle: Frank Fielding twice made strong saves, from Lloyd Dyer and Fryatt, to preserve a well-earned clean sheet and bag a point for the Cobblers.

LEICESTER: Martin, Hobbs, Tunchev, Kisnorbo, Mattock (Berner 63), Gradel, Oakley, King, Dyer, Fryatt, Howard (Hayles 80). Subs not used: Henderson, Morrison, Adams

COBBLERS: Fielding, Crowe, Hughes, Doig, Jackman, Gilligan (Henderson 78), Osman, Coke, Holt, Akinfenwa (Constantine 68), Hawley. Subs not used: Dunn, Dolman, Dyer

ATTENDANCE: 22795

What was it DavieG mentioned about how many points we needed to collect from the next few games?

I just knew this sort of shit would happen when we started getting ahead of ourselves.

Didn't want to post yesterday, too many emotions flying all over the place here and I wasn't in the best of moods like most!

Right, we'll start from the back.

Martin - He can do a job but as each game passes he seems to get poorer as poorer. His distribution is absolutely abismal. Even when he's got the ball in his hands and tries the release the ball quickly to either Mattock or Hobbs, he can't judge the pace or direction correctly.

Hobbs - Should never be playing right back in a million years. In the game against Walsall my biggest gripe with him at CB was that he would never use the aces of space infront of him, whereas yesterday he would go awol for periods way out of position and leave Gradel exposed on the right, and letting them have a field day! This lead to Oakley and Gradel bickering between each other when in all honesty and was neithng of their faults.

Kisnorbo, was extremely please to see him in the starting lineup, thought he would give us that added experince at the back that was missing from Hobbs' game. Instead he looked rather lost, not knowing what to do with the ball when he got it. Instead of looking for an attacking option, he would run around in circles before passing back to Martin

Tunchev - Had a fairly good game, does exactly what you expect him to do.

Mattock/Berner - Both did ok, but need to work on getting forward. Mattock didnt seme to find the correct runs and didnt support Dyer as much as he needed.

Dyer and Gradel - Did what they we're suppose to do but let down with the lack of support from the rest of the team.

Oakley and King - I've group these to together becuase they both had an indentical game, a very poor one. There was no creativity between them, Oakley seems scared to play the long crossfield ball over the top to either Dyer or Gradel when either of them are in aces of space. Instead opting to take the easy option to pass to either Mattock or Hobbs. This is loosing us vital momentum and making our game play extremely predictable and far too easy to play against.

Howard - Like a few others, did was he need to do, it was his strike partner who let him down. He is in the team to win the balls in the air and hold up the ball which he does very well, its not his fault that Fryatt lacks the pace and the anticipation to get on the end of his flick ons.

Fryatt - He will get more goals this season, but im sure he wont get 20. He's had a great start to the season but has fizzled spectacually. He needs to play the line much better than he is currently doing, and try to at least read where Howards flick ons could be going, rather than standing still until Howard heads the ball then trying to chase it.

What worries me most about the last 3 draws, is that at the end of the game we hear on the radio, "We'll they set their team out and in all credit to them did their best to stop us playing" and the fact we are left to rue so many missed chances. Leeds didnt seem to have too much trouble sticking 3 pass Walsall yesterday. If we are to get promoted, we need to be scoring at least 2 goals a game on average, and at the end of the game all the comments need to be about us, not about its a good point or 3 for them.

I'm still optomistic about the season, we do need to get some more players in, lack of competion for places seems to be a big issue especially up front. And the booing, leave it at home. its not gonna to help anyone. I have to say i did not appauld the team after the match, didnt feel like i could, instead i jsut sat and did nothing. As my mum used to say, "If you not go anything nice to say, don't say anything at all".

Millwall wasn't a wakeup call, it was a slip up. This is the wakeup call!
