Thracian Posted 26 October 2008 Posted 26 October 2008 HendersonGilbert (if fit) Tunchev Kisnorbo Berner Adams King Oakley Dyer Fryatt Howard Subs: Ambrusics, Hobbs, Mattock, Gradel, Dickov (if fit) Is that the same Ambrusics who let four in against Spurs Under 18's and featured in such a ridiculous mix-up with one of his central defenders? Has Henderson pinched your girlfriend or something? I'm not saying the lad's not a decent prospect but the timing's a bit questionable.

clazkel Posted 26 October 2008 Posted 26 October 2008 I would like to see: Hendo Berner Tunchev Kisnorbo Powell (if fit)Adams Oakley Dyer MattockHayles Fryatt or Hendo Morrison Tunchev Kisnorbo Berner----------------------Powell/Mattock Adams Oakley Dyer Hayles Fryatt Something needs to change, we need to get the ball forward quicker. Play it thorugh midfield rather than always through the wingers. Hopefully through Adams and Dyer they will put their foot on the ball and run with it to open the play up, we have been lacking a positive midfielder who drives forward with the ball

Joe. Posted 26 October 2008 Posted 26 October 2008 Henderson Hobbs Tunchev Kisnorbo Powell Gradel Oakley King Dyer Howard Fryatt I'll still continue to put down the same team as usual. Mattock was unconvincing on Saturday, and Powell has been steady since day one. There's nobody better who I'd like to put in CM, and likewise up front.
Thracian Posted 26 October 2008 Posted 26 October 2008 What about giving King and Oakley a rest from midfield and playing Adams and Kishishev instead? Pound to a penny our regulars would be appreciated by Wednesday.
Jimmy Posted 26 October 2008 Posted 26 October 2008 Let's recall Carl Pentney from his loan then! or use Alex Cisak ...

Simi Posted 26 October 2008 Posted 26 October 2008 Henderson O'Neill, assuming Gilbert doesn't make it. Hobbs Tunchev Powell (not sure where he went, but Mattock isn't ready yet. If not Powell, Berner.) Gradel. He started to look a lot more interested in the game Saturday and just needs to keep working hard at running into the open space and making use of it. King Oakley Dyer Howard Fryatt Sadly we don't really have better options up top at the moment and in centre midfield. I reckon a freshing up of things would have done as good, lets hope they can get it together this time.
lildave3 Posted 26 October 2008 Posted 26 October 2008 Henderson Berner, Kisnorbo, Tunchev, MattockKing, Oakley, DyerGradel, Porter,Howard Wouldn't mind that one bit, as long as Gradel and Porter got forward enough.
Thracian Posted 26 October 2008 Posted 26 October 2008 Henderson Berner, Kisnorbo, Tunchev, MattockKing, Oakley, DyerGradel, Porter,Howard I do believe we concur - and with LilDave3 that makes three. The nearest we'll get to pass and move football - it's almost a revolution!
Dan Posted 26 October 2008 Posted 26 October 2008 What you would like to see;Martin Gilbert - if fit, if not Berner. Tunchev Kisnorbo Mattock Gradel Oakley Adams Dyer Howard Fryatt same old same old Just noticed Adams instead of King my bad

Milan Posted 26 October 2008 Posted 26 October 2008 We need Dickov back, how long till he is back now?
Mickyblueeyes Posted 26 October 2008 Posted 26 October 2008 Martin Hobbs/Morrison Tunchev Kisnorbo Powell Gradel Oakley Adams Dyer Fryatt Howard And stick one of kids on the bench (Mckay, Sapp etc).
Ric Flair Posted 27 October 2008 Posted 27 October 2008 Henderson;Berner, Kisnorbo, Tunchev, Mattock; Gradel, Oakley, King, Dyer; Porter, Howard. Subs: Martin, Hobbs, Adams, McKay, Hayles. I see little point in persisting with Fryatt. Okay he had a goals flurry at the start of the season but he seems back to normal now, his limitations remain clear and his contribution to the flow of the team is woeful. I would like to see McKay given some time. He's still a bit lightweight but he's a team player personified. He will run all day for the cause and if someone makes a run of their own he'll play them in. He's a good finisher too given the chance. Porter would be given a free role in midfield to help provide the runs and the one-two passes from which everyone will benefit. Not only that but his positional awareness wil; enable King to make more runs into the box. Porter's constant omision has been a crime and his return might give us some chance of playing as a unit again. It will also takes some pressure off our stalwart central midfielders who have done so much to prserve what is still an impressive record for the season so far. I would like to see Dyer and Gradel played in a more advanced role if possible, like Young and Agbonlahor play at Villa. Martin Hobbs Kisnorbo Tunchev Mattock Adams King Oakley Gradel Howard Dyer Subs: Fryatt, Porter, Henderson, Berner, Morrison

marbelladave Posted 27 October 2008 Posted 27 October 2008 This is definitely getting more like it! Our rigid 4-4-2 is becoming predictable and and can be even be defended by pretty average teams. We need more flexibility going forward. Our defense is solid, pretty much whoever plays and although our center midfield controls the space in front of them well, they are not that dynamic going forward, so let them play the deep supporting role they are good at. The creativity must then come from the front 4, play 3 of our pacy players and give them free attacking roles supporting a lone striker. They should be free to interchange and take up wide or central positions, whatever the game requires. If there is space out wide use it, if they are getting no joy against one full back, try the other, double up or run at the central defenders, whatever it takes. This requires quick, skillfull players and we have at least 4 who fit that role, the very idea of these players running at Div 1 central defenders gives me goose bumps. Make the most of our strengths, get the players doing what they are best at.

Munzie Posted 27 October 2008 Posted 27 October 2008 As there appears to be no pressure from Liverpool to play Martin (statement from last Thursday's meet the manager apparently), then I would like to see... Henderson Tunchev KisnorboGilbert --------------- MattockKing Oakley PorterHoward Fryatt --------- Dyer Gilbert (if fit) and Mattock have the ability to play in a wing-back type capacity. Oakley as a holding/defensive midfielder. Again he has the ability to be a playmaker. Would prefer Clemence, but he is still way off. Three upfront, with big Stevie, playing in a central (slightly deeper) role in order to receive the attacking ball and provide distribution to our two leading goalscorers. It's experimental granted, but we are playing Brighton (not trying to disrespect them too much) and it's early enough in the season to try a few new things.

Munzie Posted 27 October 2008 Posted 27 October 2008 Why play with 9players? Someones spiked my coffee or the wine gums I've just eaten have had the desired effect! Forgot our other two midfielders - will edit! Told you it was experimental
