Guest Posted 29 October 2008 Posted 29 October 2008 LisaFreak results were just that, freak. At no point did we string together a sequence of decent games, let alone decent results. Sometimes I think a little perspective is needed especially from the diehards who see pretty much every game. We have been mediocre for a while now, the last 6 games have seen 2 lucky wins, 3 poor draws and last nights 'performance'. The last 4 games have been relegation standard! Pearson appears to be competent and we have some decent coaches, (look at our young players) so why are we playing such a rigid formation? Why are we still playing long balls to the big man? Why are we playing a fullback in center midfield? Why are our wingers looking less potent with every passing game? Why, why why? So far I have seen no attempt to even address these issues and until we do, we will not move forward! I don't really see what you are getting at. I make the point that we have been crap since mid-September, and you say we've been mediocre for a while. Is this not the same thing? Also, haven't you noticed that it is the "die-hards" who are looking at things more rationally and sensibly at the moment? As for last season, we had one of the best defences in the league last season, something I feel gives a solid foundation on which to build a good team. With the right additions to the squad in midfield and up front, blah blah blah, yadda, yadda, yadda. But as I saw it, the team could perform on its day. Last season was frustrating, something you don't seem to be able to grasp.
Ash Posted 29 October 2008 Posted 29 October 2008 Get Howard out! Dickov In! King or Oakley out! King and Oakley are like crabs , Sidewards passing all the time ! We need a muzzy type player!
colbo68 Posted 29 October 2008 Posted 29 October 2008 RANT!1. Anyone who will try to justify Sacking NP is an idiot, yes an Idiot! He hay have some faults but there is simply no justification for such knee jerk reactions to a few bad results. 2. LCFC fans have the right to voice their opinions as they are the life blood of the club, but get behind the ****ers and lets see what we get in return. 3. The players STILL do not have the mentallity of a winning side. They need to be more combatative and win the ball, stick their foot in to the 50/50 challenges and win the fooking ball!!!!!! We are too soft certainly in midfield even with Oakleys improved performances. King should be dropped as the job he is currently being asked to do is not his forte. King is a player who plays delightful football some of the time, we need a destructive midfielder who gets stuck in not a pansy with fancy touches once in a blue moon in the mould of Gareth Williams. 4. I have said it too many times on here for anyone to take any more note, but I am correct when I say that a player who has a driven personallity needs to be instilled as captain to dish out a hammering or to to underperforming individuals when on the pitch. A LEADER Please!!!!!!! 5. Leicester MUST beat these poor sides if they are to get automatic promotion. The only half decent team we have played this season was Oldham IMO. People will say I think LCFC are Billy Big Balls but look who these teams are FFS! We as a club have to get on track mentally and be an efficent unit to win football matches, this requires a few well organised players playing in a committed manner, spice in some of the tallen we have and we have a team of Champions in Division 3. 6. Lastly there are some areas of the side which are frightenly thin! Goalkeepers, Right Back, Centre Midfield, Strikers are all under manned and if I may say so lack sufficent quality in depth. Gilbert is fine but who is replacing him now? It's not good enough! Centre Mid needs a hard man to win it and give it, we need Goals! look at our defensive record compared with the scoring record and not alot has changed from last year The problems we have are easily fixable, especially the attitude! Get it done Nigel we believe in you! Blue Army! very good post, agree with all your points
Vo Rogue Posted 29 October 2008 Posted 29 October 2008 GOTO POST 19!!!!Do not pass Go Do not collect 200 pounds Raj is just having a littie tantrum. He'll get over it.
Katy Posted 29 October 2008 Posted 29 October 2008 Sorry, but I quite like it. Although it reminds me of something else, and I can't think what the hell it is!! Agreed.
Koke Posted 29 October 2008 Posted 29 October 2008 When we beat Bristol Rovers, Yeovil and Swindon, this will all be forgotten and Pearson will be hailed as the best thing since sliced bread.

Last season was frustrating, something you don't seem to be able to grasp. This is where I take issue. Stringing 5, sometimes 6 defenders across the 18 yd box and hoofing the ball forward is not good defending, sure there are times when you are under the cosh that you need to get players back to defend but 5 / 6 men at the back playing hoofball to largely isolated front men should NOT be your game plan, which it was for much of last season. In the last few games we have started to play that way again, our wingers are being tightly marked so it's back to the longball tactics. There will be ocassions when you get results playing that way but it will not happen often. I am not calling for anyones head but unless we change our attitude and our style of play, I can see a repeat of last season coming right up.

It wasn't conceding them that was the problem, it's scoring them! The problems are in midfield and up front, where we lack ideas and imagination. The hoofball, I suspect, is little to do with managers, it's in the mindset of the players who are devoid of any clue, evidenced by the fact that successive managers have failed to eradicate it from our game plan. I cannot believe for one minute they have sat in the dressing room and said "hit it long, we should be able to exploit their back line with the pace we have up front".
Zingari Posted 29 October 2008 Posted 29 October 2008 When we beat Bristol Rovers, Yeovil and Swindon, this will all be forgotten and Pearson will be hailed as the best thing since sliced bread. or maybe he will be hailed as , "thick as a docker's sandwich"
maddog Posted 29 October 2008 Posted 29 October 2008 Am i missing something here? I've heard no one calling for NPs head.
Anish Posted 29 October 2008 Posted 29 October 2008 There are one or two morons texting in to Radio Leicester calling for Pearson's head and people here think that everyone who dares criticise him wants him out. I can't see anyone here genuinely saying that Pearson should go - so let's just ignore that point as clearly nobody is making it.
l444ry Posted 29 October 2008 Posted 29 October 2008 The main overeaction was thinking City would walk the league because of the good start the side made. It could be argued that Pearson has overachieved thus far with the squad at his disposal. It's up to Milan Mandaric to support him with the additions he requires in the transfer window. If Pearson can get a couple of experienced quality players in then there's no reason why he can't finish the job.

If not two touch, then one touch.

I cannot believe for one minute they have sat in the dressing room and said "hit it long, we should be able to exploit their back line with the pace we have up front". Last year all our problems stemmed from the defense, including much of our midfield that played so deep they were pretty much defenders anyway. The ball was hoofed to Howard and Hume and in general championship defenders dealt with this with ease! There was little constructive play from the back so our front men barely had a chance. THAT was the problem! Earlier this season our new look back 4 played the ball out of defense which allowed King (mostly) and Oakley to pass into feet and start meaningful attacks and IT WORKED. I accept that neither Howard or Fryatt are great strikers but they are still averaging better than a goal a game despite the recent limp performances. To my mind we need to go back to playing the ball out of defense, and we need to free up or wingers. Keeping them out wide all of the time in the vague hope that the will provide a stream of crosses for Howard is naive in the extreme, we are simply making it easy for the opposition. We need to be more flexible and unpredictable up front and if that means playing without a big man, then so be it!.
Lovejoy Posted 29 October 2008 Posted 29 October 2008 My pre-season prediction for us was 6th! Let's look at it as positive that we're disappointed with 6th .
marbelladave Posted 29 October 2008 Posted 29 October 2008 Spot on Marbella. Passing is the key. If not two touch, then one touch. Passing is most definitely the key! King and Oakley may not be the most dynamic of midfielders but they will do a great job for us providing, The ball is played out to them from the back 4, and, They have options, ie attacking players making runs and mixing it up. With our wide men stuck out wide and Howard down the middle we have become way too predictable!
Raj Posted 30 October 2008 Posted 30 October 2008 It could have been alot worse. imagine being 2 goals up to your nearest and most hated rivals,at home, with a few mins left and you end up drawing!!! http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/e...rem/7684610.stm See...not so bad after all is it???
Katy Posted 30 October 2008 Posted 30 October 2008 Come on, who serious thought we would piss all over League one? If you think about it it's totally different to the Championship. The style of play is totally different, to start with we were the unknown quantity if you like. Now, slowly, we are being found out as has been mentioned before. Hull will find this out eventually also, as no one really knows what they're about either....yet. If we finish in a play off position (one of which we currently hold) then I will be more than happy. It's a bloody hard division to get out of and people need to take their Martin O'Neil era specs off and get real. We have no divine right to anything, we have to work for it, we have to earn respect in League One we don't just get it because we're the Billy Bigbollox of the Championship, we're not, we're League One Leicester City so lets get behind the manager and players and see what we can do. As for the player, they should know what they need to do. They let us down on Tuesday but it's not the end of the world, I have absolute trust in Pearson to get us going again. I'm not having a pop at anyone in particular on here but more at the Radio Leicester types who phone in and make a show of themselves and the numbnuts who sat behind me and Jamie on the way back from Brighton

I don't know why you've decided to pick on me, but I keep on saying that it is the lack of midfield options that let us down, and therefore no creativity up front. Then you keep on coming back and saying the same thing in a different way! What is your problem?
Raj Posted 30 October 2008 Posted 30 October 2008 I love people who think they know the answer when the last 5-7 odd fcuking managers at this shitty club of ours couldnt muster up a half decent team between the lot of em. Some people need to take their FA coaching badges!!!
The People's Hero Posted 30 October 2008 Posted 30 October 2008 Seems to me that those FA coaching badges just knock any sense you have out of you.
Raj Posted 30 October 2008 Posted 30 October 2008 Seems to me that those FA coaching badges just knock any sense you have out of you. Or its just this fcuking football club of ours!!!!
Foxhateram Posted 30 October 2008 Posted 30 October 2008 I love people who think they know the answer when the last 5-7 odd fcuking managers at this shitty club of ours couldnt muster up a half decent team between the lot of em. Some people need to take their FA coaching badges!!! in the process of doing so sir. Infact im booked in for my level 2 next year. My boss (who is a football coach) has backed me to get all my badges in very quick succession and has full confidence in my technical mind. The answer to the problems we are having atm. Well there is no definative answer. All i can say is every team has a bad patch in a season. Ok we have dropped alot of points in the last 4 games, and yer ok we were let down on tuesday night. Its a blip though, Some people are over-reacting. THIS DOES NOT MEAN WE ARE GOING TO GET RELEGATED! NEITHER DOES IT MEAN OUR PROMOTION HOPES ARE DESTROYED. Some people need to wake up and realise this league is difficult. I admit i was pisse* off tuesday too. However Fryatt got another two goals (i dont doubt this lad will get many many more this season) King sounded like he did a good job of attacking from midfield, The goals we created sounded pretty good, and the first half was very positive. Second half their emergency loan player woke up, i know you think they are poor and that they havent won at home etc but maybe they were just missing a spark. The johnson guy they have got on loan sounds qaulity. I have every faith that he will kick start that brighton side. The momentum was with that the opposite team in the second half, Mickey Adams is a qaulity motivational manager, and we got our head down after letting in a goal and fell apart. It wasnt long then till Brighton got on top and Johnson screwed us over with two wonder strikes. I feel we missed Oakley on tuesday night. His defensive work is usually good. Sounds like King and Burner both got caught pushing forward on three occasions leaving us open down the middle of the park. There is alot of work to i agree. The team needs to start playing with a bit more flair, and be more clever off the ball. Passing needs to be more fluid and on the floor. I gone on here for wayyyy to long, and im only repeating what i said after the last two games. I just feel that the entire club gets far to negative far to quickly. Its only 4 bad games ffs.
