Wasyls Pec Deck Posted 28 October 2008 Posted 28 October 2008 I cannot believe we've lost either...but people calling for Pearsons head on RL, and some reaction from here is a bit too far. A win saturday we'll further up than 6th, with a game in hand. Granted we shouldn't have lost tonight, but all this talk is far too hasty. We've only LOST 2 games remember. True maybe Pearson should tinker with the team (i.e. drop Martin and Kisnorbo for Hendo and Morrison in my view). Be optimistic! We'll be top 2 there or thereabouts come the end of the season, and a 3-2 loss at Brighton won't take that away.

Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 28 October 2008 Posted 28 October 2008 It's just that the wound is still fresh at the minute, if you catch my drift. The people that call into RL are always calling for someone's head anyway, their opinions should be considered worthless, as should most of those that write into the Leicester Mercury. That is of course, unless the solution to any problem is "Drop Steve Howard" and "Sort It Out Milan".

I'm just thinking that the more matches you attend the more you take this seriously, and so I'm getting the impression you may only attend one or two a year.
Wasyls Pec Deck Posted 28 October 2008 Author Posted 28 October 2008 I keep on telling myself that we were beaten by shots from 30 yards (one deflected at that!) and an og, and that stone wall pen decision......altho that would mean I'd be getting into the all familiar terrority of blaming anyone other our side. Its a blip for sure, but not were not on the edge of a cliff as some people seem to assert...
DJ Barry Hammond Posted 28 October 2008 Posted 28 October 2008 It wouldn't be leicester if we didn't throw away at least one game from a winning position each season. My brother likes re-calling the Wolves game to me, and this will no doubt go on the list with the others. One thing that did seem apparent at a distance - no subs were made until it was too late, and we had played on saturday, so maybe our squad is a bit bare at the moment.

I've been to 4 this season...MK Dons, Leyton Orient, Huddersfield and Northampton. I do live down south mate, bit of an effort sometimes! Had a season ticket for dire 04-07 years. Is that ok with you?! I'd expect I'll get to somewhere between 10-12 games this season...

GLC Posted 28 October 2008 Posted 28 October 2008 people pay good money to see OUR team go 2 up and then to lose, why shouldn't they complain, its worse when you we lose to teams like brighton, but your gonna get people complaining, thats life

Corky Posted 28 October 2008 Posted 28 October 2008 If we'd have lost 1-0 tonight, or 3-2 after being 3-0 down, I'd be disappointed but not angry, as I'm sure would most people. The fact we've thrown away a great position, combined with other results tonight, means I'm more frustrated and gutted than usual after a defeat.

Wasyls Pec Deck Posted 28 October 2008 Author Posted 28 October 2008 and I take any defeat (esp like this) to heart as much as the next man!! If thats what you were getting at??? or am going down the wrong path?
Lovejoy Posted 28 October 2008 Posted 28 October 2008 I avoided this forum so as not to get steamed up. After 2 minutes I'm going to depart again for a day or so. It's a bad result, and we're all fooked off right now, but only a second defeat of the season! Keep The Faith

The worrying thing for ME has been how similar the standard of football has been to last season(And previous season to that!) WE lack any inventiveness and the midfield seldomnlive upto expecatations. we have the likes of oakley,Kisnorbo,Howard and to alesser extent Powell(only cos he aint been here that long) who are experienced players but do they provide any sort of leadership qualities for the younger players? The last thing i want to do is be negative(even though yes i am a moaning cvnt!) but we DO have issues. Issues that they can learn from and make us a better team. Issues however that if not addressed,we may find ourselves facing more headlines regarding Boo Boys(which we dont want to read about) We must however keep faith with Np(in my opinion) as changing managers is one of the main reasons we are in this shitty division in the first place. Chins Up! P.S If we dont win on say we are fooked!!!
Vo Rogue Posted 29 October 2008 Posted 29 October 2008 I think people are now finally starting to question Pearson and seeing his lack of ability to change players and structures as being rather inept and limited. Especially with the players at hand since seasons start.

Vo Rogue Posted 29 October 2008 Posted 29 October 2008 Or maybe just ONE very good Manager. Not just a lot of average ones.

Vo Rogue Posted 29 October 2008 Posted 29 October 2008 Like every club in the universe has done before. gone out and look for them. If your happy with Pearson then I'm over the moon about it. Me, its starting to give me the shakes some of his ways. Found out by a few teams already.

Me, its starting to give me the shakes some of his ways. Found out by a few teams already. i'm afraid i'm starting to agree with you - like last season under Ollie, my concern isn't only about points won or lost, its mainly about how we are playing - we, of course, have no divine right to win any game, even at this level, but some of our recent performances are totally unacceptable and we have the right to voice our opinions in a constructive way. Pure and simple we should be beating sides like Northants town at home, no excuses - I just hope that last year doesnt repeat itself in terms of the 'keep the faith' party becoming 'the excuses' party, because we all saw the shambles last year became. I'm not advocating getting rid of Pearson, what I am saying is that things need to improve quickly if we are to push on for auto promotion. How we are playing currently, we won't achieve that end.
Guest Posted 29 October 2008 Posted 29 October 2008 The downward slide has been going on for years; did people really expect it to turn around overnight? As for the current situation, I don't think we have played well since the first international break. I guess Pearson thought he was being clever by taking advantage of a break, but it seems to me to have done more harm than good. I thought that we were playing well (in comparison to how we are performing now), and Pearson has shot himself in the foot. Not only that, but by postponing the Yeovil match, he has set a rod for his own back now, and if he decides to go ahead and play the next time the internationals are played, then I guess he would see this as admitting he was wrong.
marbelladave Posted 29 October 2008 Posted 29 October 2008 Just got up and read through the posts, seems to be 2 distinct sets of views, ie that we are in a bit of a bad trot and were unlucky last night OR, the wheels have come off and we are in deep poo! For those of you who were not at the game, the most disturbing thing was not the result, poor though it was, but the SIMILARITY of the way we played to last season! Team selection was too defensive, full back in central midfield! Havn't we been here before? Formation far too rigid, after the break Brighton just doubled up on our wingers and we were fvcked. Defense looked more like the flaky outfit of last year rather than the pretty solid unit of a couple of months ago, distribution from the back has become woefull. Mattock and Kisnorbo have just returned, coincidence? Once Brighton got a goal back we defended too deep (like last season), central midfield were too close to the back 4 and we resorted to long ball clearances that just gave away possession. Because we were defending so deep Brighton were able to play the ball around 30 odd yards out and measure their shots on goal, they were not closed down because our back 4 were defending the 18 yard line with King and Berner just in front of them. Defensively we were so like last season that it was a real worry!
Number 6 Posted 29 October 2008 Posted 29 October 2008 I think the early season success is the reason for this. Before the season started I would have taken play-offs, a month ago I would have been hoping to finish 1st. It seems that people's expectations have been raised, as long as it's turned around quickly then we will soon forget it.
