davieG Posted 6 November 2008 Posted 6 November 2008 Nigel Pearson was handed an injury tonic today (Thursday) with the news that Paul Dickov and DJ Campbell were back in training. Both players had been out for six weeks - Dickov with a back injury and Campbell with a pelvic problem. But the strike duo were back in full training on the Belvoir Drive training ground pitches this morning - much to the delight of the City boss. He said: "Both Paul and DJ trained this morning and are looking good. That's great news for us. "We will have to wait and see if they are a part of it on Saturday, but they aren't too far away." Pearson also gave the latest on Kerrea Gilbert, James Wesolowski and Bruno N'Gotty - the later recently returning to the club after picking up an Achilles injury while on loan with Hereford United. He added: "Kerrea has recovered from his hamstring injury, but he has now picked up an illness. That's something that has affected a few of our players this week, and he is off at the moment. "James has had his ankle operated on, and we will be probably be looking at February before he is back. "Bruno has had surgery, but his rehab will be pretty lengthy. "It's disappointing for players when they pick up these types of injuries, but we know that over the course of the season these are things that we have to deal with."

That's good news, we need more striking options!!!

Perhaps Knowitall can shed some light on his situation.
dandannieldanok Posted 6 November 2008 Posted 6 November 2008 I think it might be time for Bruno to retire unfortunately.
shen Posted 6 November 2008 Posted 6 November 2008 And not one word on Porter. Perhaps Knowitall can shed some light on his situation. He went under the official site radar
dandannieldanok Posted 6 November 2008 Posted 6 November 2008 And not one word on Porter. Perhaps Knowitall can shed some light on his situation. He hasn't be injured though
Ric Flair Posted 6 November 2008 Posted 6 November 2008 Good to hear both DJ and Dickov are back in business.
Thracian Posted 6 November 2008 Posted 6 November 2008 He hasn't be injured though He might not have been injured but it sounds as if something's been wrong with him.
Jimmy Posted 6 November 2008 Posted 6 November 2008 He might not have been injured but it sounds as if something's been wrong with him. yes but it was an Injury update not a Thrac's player obsession update
Thracian Posted 6 November 2008 Posted 6 November 2008 Good to hear both DJ and Dickov are back in business. Definitely. Both could play such important roles if they were fit and playing in their proper positions.
dandannieldanok Posted 6 November 2008 Posted 6 November 2008 He might not have been injured but it sounds as if something's been wrong with him. If rumours are to be believed then the problems surround his attitude and lifestyle, but tbh I haven't a clue myself and won't be making any assumptions personally.
Guest Chocolate Teapot Posted 6 November 2008 Posted 6 November 2008 He might not have been injured but it sounds as if something's been wrong with him. A lack of ability perhaps?
Daggers Posted 6 November 2008 Posted 6 November 2008 Both Paul and DJ trained this morning and are looking good. That's great news for us. It is. Pearson also gave the latest on Kerrea Gilbert So, he has a cold! James Wesolowski and Bruno N'Gotty We'll never see them play for us again.
dandannieldanok Posted 6 November 2008 Posted 6 November 2008 what about clemence? Good point, forgot all about him and it seems the club have too!
Benji Posted 6 November 2008 Posted 6 November 2008 Thank god Dickov and DJ are back, with Gilbert back at right-back we'll be back in business I'd have thought
Thracian Posted 6 November 2008 Posted 6 November 2008 A lack of ability perhaps? Don't talk to me about ability pal. Not after our latest performance. Or our efforts against Northampton and Bristol Rovers.
The People's Hero Posted 6 November 2008 Posted 6 November 2008 Don't talk to me about ability pal. Not after our latest performance. Or our efforts against Northampton and Bristol Rovers. If ONLY we hadn't released Louis Dodds, eh?
Munzie Posted 6 November 2008 Posted 6 November 2008 Thank god Dickov and DJ are back, with Gilbert back at right-back we'll be back in business I'd have thought I don't think they will solve one of our many problems. Both require match fitness and will offer limited oppertunities. Dickov would be best used as an impact player given his age. Either start him and sub early or let him loose for the last 20 mins or so. DJ, despite being a popular player, has a confidence issue and will take an awful long time (if ever) to get this sorted. I hope they prove me wrong on their returns but I doubt it very much.
Wasyls Pec Deck Posted 6 November 2008 Posted 6 November 2008 great news...with DJ and/or Dickov on the bench from now on hopefully it'll give us a little more variety up front...that and Howard and Fryatt must be knackered... Just what the doctor ordered!!

dog_4 Posted 6 November 2008 Posted 6 November 2008 brilliant news, we now have campbell, dickov, chambers back along with gilbert back before the next league game. more pace and graft added to the side with those four back. I think for us to kick on now, we need to start using campbell more and use his pace to effect.
