sdb Posted 7 November 2008 Posted 7 November 2008 dissapointed. was gonna happen sooner or later. strange that it's happened without him playing since the last window was open.
Thracian Posted 7 November 2008 Posted 7 November 2008 Its about prioritising though. We havent got a great deal of money to spend (if any) so any money from the Mattock deal would, in my opinion, be better spent elsewhere for now, ideally on a decent central midfielder to provide competition for Oakley and King.Powells a short term fix,we all know that. Berner has barely played at all, especially in his specialist position. The two of them im sure (barring injuries) should be good enough at this level, then if we get promoted, yes we will have to look at bringing someone else in. If you're happy with full-backs who don't really offer enough supporting runs going forward and who certainly don't make goals then fair enough. Me, I think you need goals from everywhere or at least from far more places than is the case at present.
Thracian Posted 7 November 2008 Posted 7 November 2008 What the Stearman who is getting rave reviews for table topping Wolves?MMMMMM, i wonder if thats because he is playing in his natural position of Centre Half? Yes, the position I said we should get him playing play for us but, no, we preferred the big hoofers.
Salieri Posted 7 November 2008 Posted 7 November 2008 If you're happy with full-backs who don't really offer enough supporting runs going forward and who certainly don't make goals then fair enough. Me, I think you need goals from everywhere or at least from far more places than is the case at present. Indeed, and i think the central midfield position has a more direct link with the strikers, hence my point about prioritising. In an ideal scenario, we could improve on all the areas that we are lacking in, but that isnt the case at the moment.
Daggers Posted 7 November 2008 Posted 7 November 2008 I am 99% sure that Joe will be leaving Leicester in January. I'm 99% sure that the lottery will be won tomorrow night by someone who isn't me. Mattock going was a banker at the tail end of last season only no decent offers rolled in - but as I have been saying for an age, our benefactor will seek to pull back money from any possible revenue stream now that his idiotic, despotic style of management sank us into the third tier rather than elevating us to the top flight. At the end of the day Mattock's going is no big loss, he's a Championship player who is currently deeply over-rated - cash in, trade up and move on.
Brainy Posted 8 November 2008 Posted 8 November 2008 Why is it i'm not allowed to have a bit of a joke? shit or not? oh.
Bert Posted 8 November 2008 Posted 8 November 2008 Most of us do. Yes, very witty well done. But the people i know, their balls have dropped.
Simi Posted 8 November 2008 Posted 8 November 2008 Why is it i'm not allowed to have a bit of a joke? shit or not?oh. You are, doesn't mean I'll find it funny though.
Daggers Posted 8 November 2008 Posted 8 November 2008 Great threadage. Probably needs more people quoting other people though.
Alexikokopops Posted 8 November 2008 Posted 8 November 2008 "He who controls the past controls the future", ergo Chris Powell dominates everything. FACT
Steve Ayling Posted 8 November 2008 Posted 8 November 2008 We would have got more money for him at the start of the season than I think we will get in January window It will be a shame to see him go if he does.
carterfox90 Posted 8 November 2008 Posted 8 November 2008 we may need the money to buy a decent midfielder but i hope he stays & develops with us
ACF Posted 8 November 2008 Posted 8 November 2008 Don't know if it is going so well for him at the minute.First he fall out with Mccarthy after getting made to look silly by 3 goal Leroy Lita and then getting sent off. Now there is a rumour he missed the match against Swansea cause he was late! (Got stuck in traffic!) http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/606/A42804155 You know what Mick Mccarthys like (Roy Keane) We might get Stearman back on the cheap. To be fair to Stearman I wouldn't turn up if I played for Wolves. Just trying to findout if he played against Cardiff last week. EDIT: I've just found out he did play and my grand plan is over. Saw somewhere that he said sorry by bringing teacakes!! Seriously!
renards Posted 8 November 2008 Posted 8 November 2008 bound to happen + best of luck to him as long as we get decent wonga with add ons. the only player we have who's a leicester fan playing for his home town. i think his potential is far greater than the current side, he will flurish with decent players around him as he does for the U21s
Ultra Posted 8 November 2008 Posted 8 November 2008 bound to happen + best of luck to him as long as we get decent wonga with add ons. the only player we have who's a leicester fan playing for his home town. Ashley Chambers?
Jimmy Posted 8 November 2008 Posted 8 November 2008 We would have got more money for him at the start of the season than I think we will get in January window It will be a shame to see him go if he does. no because the Jan transfer window is silly season and everyone is paying over the odds as clubs demand more money because they have less time to find a decent replacement
Fez of Mahrez Posted 8 November 2008 Posted 8 November 2008 Stearman's doing alright for himself... nice little sideline here... BBC website Manchester United have sent England midfielder Owen Hargreaves to world renowned knee surgeon Richard Stearman in the USA to cure the England midfielder of the persistent tendinitis threatening his career.
