potter3 Posted 18 November 2008 Posted 18 November 2008 They are, but they're excellent to have with meals (or as a meal! ). And I forgot to mention Palm! And frankly, I think Tuborg is average (=shit). I can drink it if there's nothing else, and with it being the most popular beer here, that happens quite often. It tastes exactly like Carlsberg does here (no wonder, it's the same brewery), yet people claim they can taste the difference. I much prefer Danish beers that don't actually taste like cat piss, like GB, Brøckhouse, Faxe and Jacobsen Don't you have special "Christmas beer" or something in Denamark?
Bridge Posted 18 November 2008 Posted 18 November 2008 Lately, it's all Mexican for me. Tecate, Corona & Pacifico all the way.American beer tastes like water and has no effect whatsoever. No wonder I could drink sixpack after sixpack in Vancouver without feeling drunk. Alex..drop into the Daily Pint near Santa Monica college. You'll change your tune about weak American beer. Stay away from light piss water though...

Bridge Posted 18 November 2008 Posted 18 November 2008 We were trying to get to the MLS Cup this year but it just didn't work out. I try to get down south every year or so to visit friends and get out of the rain. If I make it down this winter I'll let you know Alex. Great beer selection at the Daily Pint...

I'm not sure for how much longer I'll stay in California, Mike. Ideally, I'm going to add another 12, 14 days before taking the 66 up to Chicago, passing by Las Vegas.. But I could make it to Oregon later on, before or after Christmas... Have some friends in Portland that I haven't seen for a while, anyway...
Bridge Posted 18 November 2008 Posted 18 November 2008 Let me know Alex.... back to favorite beer.. When in Leicester,Grainstore Ten Fifty, or as someone said earlier..Everards Tiger in a pinch.
shen Posted 18 November 2008 Posted 18 November 2008 Don't you have special "Christmas beer" or something in Denamark? Yes, and they're already in the shops. They're dark and stronger than regular lager, and a lot tastier. We als have "Easter brews"

Feed the Sea Lions. Nice little town.
Steven Posted 18 November 2008 Posted 18 November 2008 just thought i would ask around.. its definately not the crap at the walkers stadiumim a Corona Extra lover how about the rest of you??? Amstel - only when brewed in the Netherlands Fullers London Pride
The People's Hero Posted 18 November 2008 Posted 18 November 2008 Desperado with a triple tequila chaser. Repeat ad nauseum. And Alex wonders why he got texts at gone 3am.
Lillehamring Posted 18 November 2008 Posted 18 November 2008 :laugh:Jamie? Walkabout? On the picture, the pint is golden, when it doesn't look like that...and have you tried Hoegaarden? ha ha - down in one - looking a little green - and then on with the show
Lillehamring Posted 18 November 2008 Posted 18 November 2008 I think theres a slight difference between the two, but not really that much. Tastes virtually the same as Export. I'd probably agree with you as well, but have never tried any other Danish beer tuborg grøn is super popular here, mainly because it is the cheapest - i believe it is brewed here by rignes who make the vast majority of every beer here and they all taste pretty crap, in fact tuborg is as good as anything else they brew... so i tend to stick with Aas or Hansa... but, hell, i miss real ale (not london pride, tho - worst beer ever brewed)
Lillehamring Posted 18 November 2008 Posted 18 November 2008 Don't you have special "Christmas beer" or something in Denamark? JULEBRYGG!!!!! i was drinking it at the weekend, it's actually very similar (hansa jullebrygg, anyway) to porter - quite dark and treacley - rather anoyingly, most of the shops have pulled the bottles of hansa premium to accommodate it
Sparky Posted 18 November 2008 Posted 18 November 2008 Fruli! Fruli is just wrong , girls drink at best
Phube Posted 18 November 2008 Posted 18 November 2008 Most Badger brewery one, especially Fursty Ferret. Most Adnams. And Evrards(sp?) Tiger Bitter!
Floating Fox Posted 18 November 2008 Posted 18 November 2008 What Norwegian beers might I find in Uk supermarkets, if any? I like tried random beers from Different countries. We got some from Peru last week
andyh1884 Posted 18 November 2008 Posted 18 November 2008 Staropramen and Franziskaner are my favourites
