MrsJohnMurphy Posted 19 November 2008 Posted 19 November 2008 Before your knock all American lager try these three, nothing like the watery "lite" rubbish ( budweiser, coors, miller etc ) Sierra Nevada Pale Ale the greatest beer of them all !!! I can't tell you how good this beer is!!! Brooklyn Lager Samuel Adams Boston Lager
Unabomber Posted 20 November 2008 Posted 20 November 2008 Peroni, Budvar, Stella, Grolsh on tap, or a Desperados in a bottle. Fooking lovely.
Bridge Posted 20 November 2008 Posted 20 November 2008 i think i saw rignes once in london, but it ain't all that, there is one really indie brand, i forget the name that export to america, so might export to england, i'll have a look... but generally, nothing to speak of i'm afraid I used to drink a Norwegian beer called Aass Bock..6.5%..kicked like a mule. It was quite tastey as well.
Nationwider Posted 28 March 2009 Posted 28 March 2009 On the bottled beer front, I really like Tanglefoot. Or Leffe m'bees. Lager-wise, I'm enjoying Vier quite a bit at the moment. If you're buying, I'll drink owt. I'm a broad church.
Webbo Posted 29 March 2009 Posted 29 March 2009 If you ever get a chance to try 'Timothy Taylors Landlord' bitter you should, nectar in a glass.
Sir Fynwy Posted 29 March 2009 Posted 29 March 2009 Loved this!! Tsingtao is Chinese bud, anhauser actually own about 70% of the brewery, it's crap, hopefully interbrew will kill ths sort of shit (it won't happen though).

Indeed. Just because it's (a German beer) brewed in China, it seems to become instantly better than any other generic beer out there

act smiley Posted 29 March 2009 Posted 29 March 2009 Pilsner Urquell, Peroni and Brains. Everards Tiger is rather nice, but its nothing on Brains Gold.

Edmund Posted 29 March 2009 Posted 29 March 2009 Had one of these Tsingtao beers today at the chinese restaurant. Tasted like cat piss, never again. For me :

Zingari Posted 27 November 2009 Posted 27 November 2009 A controversial Scottish brewery has launched what it described as the world's strongest beer - with a 32% alcohol content. Tactical Nuclear Penguin has been unveiled by BrewDog of Fraserburgh. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/scotland/north_east/8380412.stm £30 a bottle , nobody will have more than 5 or 6 of those in a night at that price

My current list of favourites :- Green King IPA - Easy Drinking Timothy Taylor- Nice, but hard to find Bombardier - Fond memories of last Sunday And whatever is on the middle Pump at the Blue Lion in Thrussington....laaaaveerllly.
Wycombe Fox Posted 27 November 2009 Posted 27 November 2009 I used to love this but there's nowhere in Ryde selling this now. Lately I've taken a liking to Crabbies Alcoholic Ginger Beer - it's got a right tang to it and makes your top lip tingle!
Manwell Pablo Posted 27 November 2009 Posted 27 November 2009 Bitburger was the nuts during the world cup over there . I need to take the boys Germany in the near future Marienelos in Ashby mate. On tap, bit closer than Germany
martyn Posted 27 November 2009 Posted 27 November 2009 Some truly awful beers listed here. There must be some fellow Belgian afficionados here surely (I'm not talking Stella or Jupiler)? Rochefort 8 and Tripel Karmeliet are lovely.
Webbo Posted 27 November 2009 Posted 27 November 2009 Timothy Taylor- Nice, but hard to find They sell it at the Royal Oak in Quorn.
