Ye, lets stop the fans from enjoying football, Numpty or what. Most like the music, and enjoy celebrating goals, if you dont, simply dont go and leave, those that do enjoy football, alone.

Did you not enjoy the football and celebrating goals before we had goal music then? :dunno:

you're absolutely right...you can't possibly celebrate without generic pop music being blasted out from the PA system... i still can't beleive our club's being going since 1884, and it's only in the last two seasons that the fans have decided to celebrate goals.

:frusty::frusty::frusty:

p.s. i think the peterborough game needs to be targeted as it is likely to be our biggest home gate in what's left of 2008.

Yeah, I'll be back in the shire for that one so I'll help in any way I can. :thumbup:

Not a bad Idea gives us 14 days. Who would be available to hand out flyers, with some thing like I say NO to goal music at Leicester City!

Could we get a list going and what block you sit or stand in please?

I reckon we need some clever ideas. I wouldn't rule out the flyers thing but it would have to be done in the right way, people are instantly going to think we are killjoys when we'd just be trying to draw attention to the fact that we would like to celebrate goals in our own way and not be part of some silly mass performance.

Ideas anybody?

Perhaps having the 'NO to goal music' slogan on one side of the flyer/poster for people to hold up, while putting a little explanation (like on the facebook group description?) on the other side for people to read?

The explanation on Facebook is good :thumbup: and the Peterborough game sounds like a good idea.

i think the best thing to do would be to give out cards with 'NO TO GOAL MUSIC' on one side and a short paragraph/5 reasons on the back explaining why goal music should be scrapped, and a blurb on the back instructing people to hold them up when the players come out the tunnel and if we score and the music is played. couple this with a few rousing renditions of 'you can stick your chelsea dagger up your arse' after each of our goals ( :fc: ) and we should get noticed.

the whole thing will live or die on mass participation though - if only a few people are holding them up/singing, there is a danger that we'd just back up the club's argument that most people enjoy it. to get the numbers we'd need the mockery or something, because i doubt anyone will be allowed to print 20,000 cards off at their local library....

I'll get there an hour before hand them around the ground etc.

If everyone prints off say 200 odd off each we should get the numbrs providing theres 50 of us. Think the group has 250 members which is a good start.

Sorry that you feel that I am a numpty. Can I suggest that in the future you re-read your bleatings before pressing the "post" button and count the errors before accusing anyone of being anything.

I'm not sure that I have stated anywhere that I either enjoy or do not enjoy the music and with respect (probably more than you deserve) you know nothing about me or how I behave at football matches. As davie mentioned, does not enjoying the music preclude (that means not allow) lifelong supporters from now attending home matches?

Has anyone contacted the mercury, see if anyone there feels as strongly as we do and see if we can get some posters printed like when we wanted pierpoint out and martin stay posters. Surely it will boost paper ales as well.
