maddog Posted 14 December 2008 Posted 14 December 2008 £4,000,000 what fool at WBA has offered that? Cya matty. This seems incredibly like the connolly situation when he went to wigan Well West Brom have got to sign a striker with Miller out for the season. Where will they get someone who could save them from the Prem? Doyle won't be leaving Reading, Illuemo and Blake won't be leaving, they wont resign kevin phillips, i doubt they would risk looking around Europe for a striker who wont be currently in the English league used to the english game. So if they dont look in other countries, can't find anyone from the Prem to sign, or the Championship, then they end up in league one and Fryatt. Im sure they could find better though, but who, i can't think of many good strikers, scoring freely at the moment who they could sign and could save them. They a fooked at the moment and need a striker to instantly come in and score goals, Fryatt is scoring goals freely and if its true they can sign him with that £4m offer, so it may work for them. But i dont think Fryatt is anywhere near good enough for the Prem at the moment, but their aren't many possible better options for WBA. Doyle signed a new deal at Reading recently hes going nowhere he would be the obvious championship choice http://www.reading-mad.co.uk/news/loadnews...W&id=415735
maddog Posted 14 December 2008 Posted 14 December 2008 Doyle Reading 15 Ebanks-Blake Wolverhampton 14 Iwelumo Wolverhampton 13 McCormack Cardiff 13 Smith Watford 11 Beattie Sheff Utd 10 Phillips Birmingham 10 Blackstock QPR 8 Hunt Reading 8 Paterson Burnley 8 Bodde Swansea 7 Gallagher Plymouth 7 Kightly Wolverhampton 7 Scotland Swansea 7 Tudgay Sheff Wed 7 Heres the championship top scorers. Doyles not leaving he signed a new deal in November. MM wont be selling the Wolves guys, they wont want to leave anyway they look to be going up. Beattie is probably past it now, Phillips they sold cos they thought he was not good enough, then u have the unknown guys. So Fryatt would be the obvious choice, most of the Championship top scorers after Doyle who they wont get anyway will be just as a big a gamble as Fryatt. Fryatt is the man for them, im starting to convince myself this £4m bid is true
maddog Posted 14 December 2008 Posted 14 December 2008 Anelka Chelsea 13 Robinho Man City 8 Ronaldo Man Utd 8 Zaki Wigan 8 Agbonlahor Aston Villa 7 Bent Tottenham 7 Crouch Portsmouth 7 Defoe Portsmouth 7 Van Persie Arsenal 7 Adebayor Arsenal 6 Cisse Sunderland 6 Fuller Stoke 6 Geovanni Hull 6 Ireland Man City 6 Owen Newcastle 6 Heres the Prem top scorers. They aint gonna be signing any of them. They wont want to take a gamble on a striker who isn't scoring at the moment, they need goals or they are down. So that brings you down to league one Lambert Bristol Rovers 18 Fryatt Leicester 17 Mackail-Smith Peterborough 14 Cox Swindon 13 Beckford Leeds United 12 Graham Carlisle 10 Murray Brighton 10 Hooper S****horpe 9 Hughes Oldham 9 Baldock MK Dons 8 Becchio Leeds United 8 Kandol Millwall 8 Dyer Leicester 7 Hayes S****horpe 7 Leven MK Dons 7 Fryatt has played for England under summat U19 i dunno , and probably is the best option there from that list, playing and scoring for the team top of the league. And WBA could realistically sign him. Now i no nothing about who they could get from Spain or Italy or France or whatever and i dont think they would want to pin their survival hopes on a player not playing in the English Leagues. So basically Fryatt looks to be one of the best options for them, despite not having Premiership experience he is scoring goals and i no its in league one but at least hes scoring goals and quality ones. Hmmmmm yes maddog i agree now, WBA may have made this bid for Fryatt.
The Blur Posted 14 December 2008 Posted 14 December 2008 Id give Dexter a go if I was Mr Mowbray. Blackstock?

I'm damn sure he could find someone better than Fryatt for 4m.
C-man Posted 14 December 2008 Posted 14 December 2008 Nothing youve posted has really made sense yet. Essentially he's talking to himself.
Daggers Posted 14 December 2008 Author Posted 14 December 2008 I'm damn sure he could find someone better than Fryatt for 4m. And that £4M is nothing more than a number made up by RL

Maybes Posted 14 December 2008 Posted 14 December 2008 They need some new scouts. £4,000,000 why hasn't mando banked the cheque yet?!
Fox You Forest Posted 14 December 2008 Posted 14 December 2008 And that £4M is nothing more than a number made up by RL Yep, It's also a possibility that we would be in the same division next season. Nothing about it adds up for me at all. Someone at RL has a vivid imagination.
samuel Posted 14 December 2008 Posted 14 December 2008 There's a world outside of England And outside your window and it's a world of dread and fear....
kyleolly Posted 14 December 2008 Posted 14 December 2008 i dont know why but apparently Everton are after Fryatt do they have some injury problems up front?
Tilley Posted 14 December 2008 Posted 14 December 2008 i dont know why but apparently Everton are after Fryatt do they have some injury problems up front? Yes. Yakubu is out for the season. I doubt Everton would want Matty Fryatt
SussexFox Posted 14 December 2008 Posted 14 December 2008 we could easily replace fryatt for £4million i cannot believe they would bid that much for him that would be one of the biggest panic buys ever - Palace need to sell Kuqi surely he's as good/probably better, that West Brom could sign?
Webbo Posted 14 December 2008 Posted 14 December 2008 Thinking about it, this £4million would have strings attached, so much (say 500k) if WBA stay up, a similar amount if Fryatt scores a set number of goals. The rest would probably be paid in instalments, take away the percentage we would have to pay Walsall and 4million doesn't seem that huge an amount.
demon_dog Posted 14 December 2008 Posted 14 December 2008 Here's one of my previous posts; A frog from my garden pond has told me that a certain Neil Warnock is interested in Matty Fryatt. Could be interesting seeing as we play Palace in the Cup in a few weeks time. The question is Do I kiss the Frog to see what happens next? Now it appears that WBA may be interested in Fryatt. If any club were to offer 4 million then I think some very serious thinking would have to happen. It would be a bloody good offer, don't think many clubs in this division could afford to turn down that sort of money. The question is, what would we do? Quick, where's that bloody frog gone.
Carlos9 Posted 14 December 2008 Posted 14 December 2008 I dont think he has what it takes too keep westbrom in the premiership.. Why dont they look into gettin afew of the top 4's reserves like they did with Richardson That Vela for arsenal would be a good Loanee for the season surelly? I cant see them buying him knowing his record in the championship face it hes a Great Leauge 1 Player.. But premiership??
Father Ted Posted 14 December 2008 Posted 14 December 2008 Thinking about it, I'd take £3mil + Sherjill Mcdonald.
Joe. Posted 14 December 2008 Posted 14 December 2008 I could see us accepting that if that figure is true, that's a huge valuation for a player of Fryatt's abilities. At the same time, I don't think he'd reject the chance of quick Premiership football, even though they aren't going tp stay up anyway. We could well be saying bye bye Matty soon...
