Fringe Players can go and money for new players

I just want to be the first to say...

Bye bye Levi

Hardly the first. It's been clear he's not wanted from the start of the season.

But I'd imagine the same might be said for Kisnorbo, Kishishev, Campbell, Dickov, Logan, Wesolowski, N'Gotty, Hayles, Worley, Chambers - and Max Gradel, despite his three year contract.

Shame about Porter and Gradel but I see no reason either would want to carry on being no part or bit part players at this stage of their careers. Doubtless the money will be important to Max but I am sure there are others who will appreciate him if he can't get a regular game here.

At the start of the season Gradel looked like one of our better players. I think we should keep him cos he seems determined and hes only young! he can only get better

Now come on - they are not fringe players.

They are always going to be in and around the squad and team but many have suffered with injury.

Let's not just jump on a bandwagon and suggest anyone who has been dropped, left out etc etc is part of this fringe group.

Kisnorbo may go - but not because he is a fringe player.

I think its far to say Logan, Worley, Hayes, Kishishev, Hayles, Porter and possibly even Campbell, Sappleton and Odhiambo are no longer wanted

N'Gotty, Weso and Clemence are probably not wanted as well, but won't go because of their injuries

Mattock is apparently already on his way (according to knowitall, who is a trusted source)

I think Kisnorbo would possibly have gone as well, but he's injured as well, and i don't think clubs will fork out for an injured player, especially when he might be on a free in the summer.

Question marks remian over Chambers, Gradel and Dickov, but they've hardly been given a chance and I think they'll stick around.

All in all, i expect a busy Jan, hopefully mostly shifting some of the above mentioned!

I'd be trying to offload DJ, Kisnorbo, Kishishev, Porter, Worley, Hayles, Hayes and possibly 1 or 2 more.

I'd then try and secure the permanent deal for Gilbert. Likewise Davies if possible. I'd look to sign a goalkeeper permanently, there are a few about not getting in. Lee Camp is only on loan at Forest isn't he?

I'd also buy a new striker as well to replace DJ. Someone with pace, who can stay onside and doesn't get injured that often. Jamie Ward looks like he might be able to make the step up, contract expiring in the sumemr and wants to leave. Quite prolific at League Two.

I'd possibly have a butcher's a Matt Ritchie from Pompey (on loan at Dagenham & Redbridge) as well.

Ah, agree with that.

I'd let go, Kishishev, Kisnorbo, Hayles, Hayes, Worley, Porter & yes, even DJ.

But as you say, if DJ goes, he does need replacing.

i'd say especially DJ - he's the deadest of all the wood we have - even when he's in the 1st 11 he seems to be a fringe player.

at his age, and his price tag, he shouldn't need 'a run of games' he should hit the ground running.

he's had his chance.

He's said that he has a lot of money for this division will that not just mean that other clubs will expect us to pay over the odds for their players?

Agree. Get rid now while he's still worth a few hundred grand.

We need to keep it simple this January. Maybe shift out some of the deadwood Nigel doesn't rate. If we go up, we will be in a better position to shop in the summer, so keep it simple this winter and make it a priority to keep our main assets Fryatt, Dyer and Tunchev.

Who is out of contract this summer apart from Fryatt and Kisnorbo?

That summed it up quite well. Hayles is on the list too.
