It’s come around really quick but The Darkness in Leicester next Thursday night.  Is it worth going out in the centre afterwards?  Me and a couple mates stopping over the night rather than driving back but wondered if the bars etc were dead on a Thursday night or not or even suggestions?

Tonne is open until 2am everyday and Firebug 4am.

Thursday will be alright but still quieter than you’d expect.

Hoping it goes ahead. They've had to cancel 2 gigs this weekend as Justin's got a chest infection.

Bit out of left field with this one, but the world's largest functioning pipe organ is in a department store in Philadelphia. The department store is closing this weekend, so it's been nonstop free concerts all day. Stunning venue, if not a typical performance hall. Streaming all of the concerts on Youtube for the next 3 hours, too.

Well thankfully it did, and was one of the best gigs I’ve been to.

The Horrors at The Crossing in Birm November

Have you been to the Crossing before? A great little venue.

I know Brum doesn't have a great rep in this thread but we're starting to get a decent set of small to medium venues. Hope you enjoy!

Nah never heard of it, which was also part of the appeal rather than being at Birm O2.

Used to go clubbing years ago at The Sanctuary in Digbeth & wondered if it was same venue.

Ah used to go there myself! Great times. But no, that is also now an 02 venue. The 02 Institute, as opposed to the Birmingham 02 Academy you've probably been. The institute is better in my opinion although it's a low bar.

But The Crossing is just along the high street from the Institute/Sanctuary.

Think we're going to sample the Bermondsey beer mile before heading over

Avoid the 'Ancient Foresters' if you can, full of Headhunters.

Got tickets in Brum for Everything Everything's Get to Heaven 10yr album release anniversary tour. Will take any opportunity to see them live (except spending 70 quid+ to see them support The Wombats). Still fucjing hate brum and wish some of these gigs would come to Leicester.

Think they are the only band I bother going to see live. Bought tickets to that kasabian homecoming thing last year and went home after EE finished.

Tribute bands my be frowned upon, uncool even, but I saw the Musical Box at Bath Forum last night. It was more of a recreation of a Gabriel led early days Genesis from the 1972/73 Foxtrot tour. I missed the original at DeMont that spawned the 'Genesis Live' album so had to see this show. Old man's music? Probably, but I was taken back to a time of whimsical nonsense prog rock played by very talented musicians. Attention to every detail was immaculate from the stage set, costumes and original instruments. A great show that I'd recommend. Unfortunately they have already played DeMont but still touring elsewhere in the UK.
