Corky Posted 2 February 2009 Share Posted 2 February 2009 I hope it's on for all that are going. Still not sure though, lots of snow predicted.
Katy Posted 2 February 2009 Share Posted 2 February 2009 It is tipping down with White now - and forecast to continue throughout the day and overnight. Even if they clear the pitch of snow it will still be called off because of the frozen surface. I don't think anyone should bank on attending this. I'm not banking on anything at the moment. Lots of games called off already for tomorrow, I guess it's a wait and see kind of thing. I am certain it will be called off.Damn you snow. I was finally looking forward to plucking up the confidence to meet some FT's. Yeah right All the trains in and around London are cancelled We're talking about the Walsall area love
Bilo Posted 2 February 2009 Share Posted 2 February 2009 I'm not at all confident of this one going ahead I'm afraid. It's really coming down and even if the pitch is playable, the travel concerns may prove too great.
Alexikokopops Posted 2 February 2009 Share Posted 2 February 2009 We're talking about the Walsall area love Joe wanted to know how trains fair in the snow! I was giving him an example. Yeah we are and you know it, you're just jealous Lexeh! Arsenal have undersoil heating but have still called the game off with Cardiff due to areas around the ground being too dangerous, I'm not holding out much hope for this for that reason. Corky Posted 2 February 2009 Share Posted 2 February 2009 If this is canceled what will happen? Tickets etc? They should still be valid for the re-scheduled match, or if you can't go to that, they'll probably give you a refund.

CosbehFox Posted 2 February 2009 Share Posted 2 February 2009 Please look at our website - this game is not off.The covers were put on the pitch after the Leeds game. Granted it has some 3 inches of snow on it but I have 20 staff coming in tomorrow morning to clear the snow and take the covers off. The problem will be the car parks and roads. We have cleared one car park today and gritted it, the others will be done tomorrow morning and probvided there is no further heavy snowfall I am hoping it will be on. Dave Storr Stadium Manager Just read that off a Walsall version of FT.
Joe. Posted 2 February 2009 Share Posted 2 February 2009 Yeah I think it all hinges on whether or not they can sort the roads etc out before the game. The pitch should be alright and the rail network might be fine by the sounds of things...
syston_fox Posted 2 February 2009 Share Posted 2 February 2009 Well I've just spoken to Jim at the ticket office and he's been on the phone to Walsall during the day and they're adament that it will go ahead as planned! Ambitious!

Yeah we are and you know it, you're just jealous Lexeh!Arsenal have undersoil heating but have still called the game off with Cardiff due to areas around the ground being too dangerous, I'm not holding out much hope for this for that reason. Yeah, and you're jealous of my extortionate rent and the ridiculous price I pay for pints! Didn't the Arsenal game call-off also have something to do with transport (all the tubes/busses being fucked) or did I just assume that?

Simi Posted 2 February 2009 Share Posted 2 February 2009 lets stay optimistic! so anyone got any pub info for around the stadium? Check the FootballGroundGuide in the stickied thread, but I was told by a mate of mine who's a Leeds fan that there is only one.
CosbehFox Posted 2 February 2009 Share Posted 2 February 2009 As said elsewhere, the decision best be early because a lot of people will be going after work and if the M6 performs in a similar fashion it did this morning then, you'll be lucky if 500 city fans make it. C-man Posted 2 February 2009 Share Posted 2 February 2009 I have a horrible journey from Sheffield for this. There is about 8 inches of snow currently covering my car, and it hasn't stopped snowing yet.
Guest Posted 2 February 2009 Share Posted 2 February 2009 The sensible thing would have been to have called off this game today.
