Thracian Posted 8 January 2009 Posted 8 January 2009 Not suprised but fair play to him hes still full of running.Link I can see him going into coaching and hopefully its with us Interesting idea. And while he's coaching perhaps he could inspire his charges to take the same approch to keeping himself fit that he has chosen himself and which has kept him going as a respectable professional for two decades. Cos so many players seem to be like the cars I owned years back - always crocked or having some little thing go wrong with em and mostly washed by the time they reach 32/33.
DB11 Posted 8 January 2009 Posted 8 January 2009 "Being part of a side that's top of League One and striving to get back in the Championship - I couldn't have asked for a better end to my career."
Unabomber Posted 8 January 2009 Posted 8 January 2009 Seeing as he got rejected by Bournemouth, and at his age it is a pretty good way for him to end his career.
Alexikokopops Posted 8 January 2009 Posted 8 January 2009 HERO. If he doesn't get some kind of coaching role FOR LIFE at the club I'm going to weep.
Corky Posted 8 January 2009 Posted 8 January 2009 HERO. If he doesn't get some kind of coaching role FOR LIFE at the club I'm going to weep. I see he wished you all the best as well What a man
General Smuts Posted 9 January 2009 Posted 9 January 2009 Noooooooooo!!!!!!!! My weekends ruined! fook Taggart i want Powell in!
MPH Posted 9 January 2009 Posted 9 January 2009 Interesting idea. Cos so many players seem to be like the cars I owned years back - always crocked or having some little thing go wrong with em and mostly washed by the time they reach 32/33. and following on from that, what do you think about him being a youth coach / head of youth academy type thing?
Thracian Posted 9 January 2009 Posted 9 January 2009 and following on from that, what do you think about him being a youth coach / head of youth academy type thing? I wouldn't dream of commenting. Jon Rudkin is the head of our successful academy and Steve Beaglehole has shown himself to be an excellent coach to the under 18's and, on occasions, the reserves. Furthermore I have no idea how Chris Powell sees his future.

lcfc_jme Posted 10 January 2009 Posted 10 January 2009 Chrissy P is an absolute hero. If all professional footballers were like him, I doubt there would be so much animosity to them from everybody who isn't connected with football. He should be knighted. **** Chris Hoy. Chris Powell is where it's at.

lcfc_jme Posted 10 January 2009 Posted 10 January 2009 Chris Powell would win 4 gold medals, not a measly 3. Chris Powell IS a gold medal. He has dominated for two whole decades. Hoy can ride a bike. Powell can ease tensions in Gaza and sort out the Zimbabwean economy. I think it's clear who deserves a knighthood.

lcfc_jme Posted 10 January 2009 Posted 10 January 2009 Chris Powell stole Hitlers Testicle too. Chris Powell will cure hunger and thirst in Africa, prevent terrorism and sort out knife crime / gang culture in Britain when he hangs up his boots for good. You mark my words. The queen is just a racist for not acknowledging his brilliance.
soley118 Posted 10 January 2009 Posted 10 January 2009 Would love to see him in and ouround our coaching staff next year mattocks performances have improved since he joined
