What are the odds of us being on the Earth and not another planet :dunno:

What are the odds of the Earth staying in orbit where it is and not just falling into the sun killing us all :dunno:

Combined with England winning 5-1 tonight, and Greece winning Euro 2004.

Put all those in an accy mate, they all happened, and the odds have that have got to be at least 15,000,000/1

Seriously

Split screen most likely. Him and the tv on one side and the ball side was fake. They just changed them as the balls came out.

This is what I am thinking but he is hardly going to say on Friday "Right guys, what we did was freeze the side of the screen" lol

They might not have done the bonus ball as it gives them more time to change the balls.

Not to mention it wouldn't take a year to come up with it, I think there is a clue in the fact it took a year I've no idea what though.

Could just be a cover up. Just like all the bollocks about not being allowed to show the balls before the draw. It's illegal to show a prediction?

But surely that wouldnt of took a year to perfect! Awesome however it was done!

Saw what now?

Noticed the word FORGET flash in middle of the show in white letters on the wall when the camera was zoomed out. Also noticed it at the end of the show. Not sure whether this was the thing that made everyone forget but just noticed it.

If the chances were something like 1000/1, here's what I think may have happened. Maybe a bit too far fetched at 14 mill/1 though!

Everything you see up until the draw ends and the tv is turned off is 100% legit. The moment the tv is turned off, the feed ceases being live, and a video is then played. I think it's possible that he could have recorded every single outcome and so the balls you see on the left are set out as xxxxx and he records them in order.

If you have watched Derren Brown in the past, you may have seen his coin toss trick. Something about getting 10 heads in a row. Obviously chances are very slim, and it took them the entire day of recording until he managed it, but you only saw the bit in which 10 heads finally came out.

Now the key bit, is that it took him a year to do (or was it 4 months) but anyway, 10 heads in a row isn't likely and it took an entire day of filming. So if it took him a years worth of filming, maybe it was enough time to record every outcome, so just a massively souped up version of the coin trick. So this massive time dedication for just a 10 minute slot, could explain the reasoning behind channel 4 broadcasting it across their network.

Only bit I'm unsure on is where the live/video switch would have taken place. Apart from that, my theory is flawless!

I probably couldn't be more wrong, but it would be cooler to see that sort of thing rather than a really cheap trick, and knowing Derren Brown it will be something more than a really cheap trick.

I'm talking bollocks to be fair.

ripped this off another forum

I have two theories on this:

2) My theory is that the TV show is an elaborate construction - the opening moments are pre-recorded, right up to the second wide shot of the studio with Derren and his hand-held cameraman. By going to such a wide view there is margin for error on the sound as Derren starts to speak, now live. Watch again and he says, "Hello!" on the wide shot and then goes silent for a moment.

The cut from the wide shot into the main tighter camera would not be a simple cut from camera to camera, but rather a cut from the pre-recorded VT to a now live view from a camera that simulates hand-held movement but which is actually performing a set routine of movements. The ball stand is then recorded with this exact same set of 'hand-held' movements. See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Motion_control_photography for more information!

Then, once the balls are known, a split-screen is used to mix half of the live footage with half of the VT of the ball-stand. In the few seconds where we are on VT on part of the screen, balls with the actual numbers are brought into place. We then mix back to the wide shot (which notably although hand-held remains perfectly steady when it zooms in at the end - try that on your camcorder to see how unlikely that is!) and Derren takes his metaphorical applause..

I think the screen was projecting blue, this makes it hella easy to do a green screen scenario (it works with blue too).

there's some sort of set up, if he could REALLY predict it he'd have shown the numbers straight away. he didn't, he lies.

I think he said that camelot told him he was unable to show the numbers he had predicted untill BBC1 had showed the numbers up first.
