I think he might have some kind of electronic projection from inside those white ping pong balls he used. Once they were drawn he could then use someone to programme the balls for the winning numbers. Far fetched, but then again he is..

''It took me a year to work thisout'' could all just be spin and make us all believ he has actually worked out a formula? Who knows.

anything's possible really. But as he was saying the numbers he did kind of adjust the balls to straighten them for the camera for viewers to see.

The idea of there being some kind of formula is absolutely ridiculous. You could monitor the lottery for 5 million years and it would mean shit when the next draw took place.

It was camera trickery or something, quite well executed but still just an illusion nevertheless.

I think he said that camelot told him he was unable to show the numbers he had predicted untill BBC1 had showed the numbers up first.

Yeah, which is rubbish. He wouldnt have shown the lottery numbers, it would have been a prediction.

Agreed

Can't wait until he shows us how it's been done...

I assume the first in the series this Friday shows a lot more than just how this illusion was done?

The problem is you don't know how long it will take to explain which is a shame because you can't really begin to speculate.

One other note is he said "You may want to try it yourself" of something along those lines. So if you wanted to try and predict the numbers yourself, i highly doubt its going to be by doing a split screen, i dont think thats a valid ticket somehow...

This. He's a very clever, sophisticated, modern illusionist, but he's an illusionist none the less.

Anybody think this is just going to be a bit shit? It's hardly going to make us all think higher of him. Because he pretty much claimed he'd predict the lottery numbers, which he clearly hasn't.

So when he reveals the inevitable that it was all just some illusion, it's not going to look great on him is it?

Not really. If you're actually expecting an illusionist to come up with a failsafe formula to predict a completely random lottery, then it reflects upon you, not Derren Brown.

This is an illusion and I'm very interested to see how he did it.

I'll only be disappointed if it is something like switching balls or camera editing. I liked the horse-racing prediction show because it played on our assumptions. I hope this is something similar rather than just clever editing.

To be honest, I've basically got what I was expecting from this anyway. It was obvious that he wasn't actually going to predict the outcome of the lottery, so the real thing was how he was going to try and show how he did it.

quite probably explains it. I'd be very surprised if it was something different.

Can't see it being as simple as Camera work or any recordings, e.t.c, not gotta clue what it will be but just can't see it being as simple as Camera work or recordings.

I'm very much of the opinion that it's a technical illusion, as many others in here are, too.

BUT... didn't he say something along the lines of "on Friday, I'll show you how I did it, and maybe you could try it out."?

If it's something that viewers at home can try out themselves, surely it has to be some sort of method/formula.
