Daggers Posted 30 January 2009 Posted 30 January 2009 What the fudge?! This is the second time I've been flown to hospital for a jab in the arse after falling on the floor. Not only that but it seems the world is getting this and ear problems more often relating from stinky colds. I'm sure it never used to be like this. I'm sure everyone only ever had splinters when I was a kid. Is this all Brown's doing? Is this the fault of the Italian oil workers? And why wasn't Bowie there?

Alexikokopops Posted 30 January 2009 Posted 30 January 2009 You remind me of the babe. What babe? The babe with the power. What power? The power of voodoo. Who do? You do. You remind me of the babe...
Phube Posted 30 January 2009 Posted 30 January 2009 My college at work got this... she broke her ankle (then wrist!) I think it's when you get detached hairs in your inner ear (the balance bit) and it tells you that you're not level... weird!!
Jon the Hat Posted 30 January 2009 Posted 30 January 2009 Horrible. Mother in law was over from Oz a couple of years back and got it really badly for a week or so. We had to call an Ambulance to take to A&E she got so dehydrated from being sick. Not fun.
Katy Posted 30 January 2009 Posted 30 January 2009 I have this it's proper rank. Not had it for a while but I can tell when it's coming on and it's truly awful. You have my sympathy Dags.

Trav Le Bleu Posted 30 January 2009 Posted 30 January 2009 He just signed how can it be his fault Topical, I like it! On a more serious note, and I'm pretty sure that I've posted this in a thread started by Katy that my wife is profoundly deaf as a result of undiagnosed Labyrinthitis as a child. Just to cheer you up Daggers

Let us stop blaming the Italians, as usual...

Monk Posted 30 January 2009 Posted 30 January 2009 I had a bout of this after having the flu a couple of years ago. It scared the shit out of me - basically a combination of vertigo and flu. Almost passed out a few times on the underground.
cisono Posted 30 January 2009 Posted 30 January 2009 Labyrinthitis? I thought you meant the disease of being addicted to labyrinths
Monk Posted 2 February 2009 Posted 2 February 2009 Bizarrely after replying in this thread a couple of days ago I am worried I'm coming down with this again. Had very bad dizzy spells last night falling all over the bloody place. Not great, really should have stayed at home.
Finnegan Posted 2 February 2009 Posted 2 February 2009 Pretty sure my dad had this. Pretty sure he also had to lay off salt and caffeine amongst other things? Might want to calm down the excitement.
Monk Posted 2 February 2009 Posted 2 February 2009 Had a huge row with my flat'mates' over the weekend and haven't slept much. Could have something to do with it! Should have stayed in bed! Though will take your advice on the caffeine & salt.
Katy Posted 2 February 2009 Posted 2 February 2009 Slobbing on the sofa munching pizza and playing FM09 has been hell.Hell, I tell you. Hmmm, are you sure you have labyrinthitis?
cisono Posted 2 February 2009 Posted 2 February 2009 It is one of the few illnesses I have never had. So far so good for me too!

Daggers Posted 3 February 2009 Author Posted 3 February 2009 Hmmm, are you sure you have labyrinthitis? No. I had an inner ear infection - prochlorperazine sorted it.
cisono Posted 3 February 2009 Posted 3 February 2009 Hmmm, are you sure you have labyrinthitis? No. I had an inner ear infection - prochlorperazine sorted it. I don't understand your answer. The labyrinth is in the inner ear... And you had balance disturbances... How can you be sure you did NOT have labyrinthitis? From wikipedia: The labyrinth is a system of fluid passages in the inner ear, including both the cochlea which is part of the auditory system, and the vestibular system which provides the sense of balance. source: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Labyrinth_(inner_ear)
Daggers Posted 3 February 2009 Author Posted 3 February 2009 Well, there we go - I'm glad that's all sorted.
