Ultra Posted 16 February 2009 Posted 16 February 2009 Shame that he'll never play in a World Cup really. Well he knew that was likely to happen when he declared himself Welsh..
BoneDog Posted 16 February 2009 Posted 16 February 2009 Is he not Welsh? I mean I don't like Man Utd not folks from Manchester!
Daggers Posted 16 February 2009 Posted 16 February 2009 Not only a top player, but like Scholes, you never ever read about him on the front pages of the newspapers.A top ambassador and probably one of the last of the 'one club players' And he did Danni Behr. He should be made into the new Jesus.
Alexikokopops Posted 16 February 2009 Posted 16 February 2009 Well he knew that was likely to happen when he declared himself Welsh.. Oh Finners... The only countries he could've declared for are Wales and those well know World Cup regulars Sierra Lione so I'm not sure where "declaring himself Welsh" comes into the matter.
Koke Posted 16 February 2009 Posted 16 February 2009 Not only a top player, but like Scholes, you never ever read about him on the front pages of the newspapers.A top ambassador and probably one of the last of the 'one club players' Paul Scholes doesn't even look like a master footballer. He looks like one of those blokes you'll see in a park on a hot July summer playing chess. Or one of those folks who would stay up all night playing WoW - and masterminding it.
Finnegan Posted 16 February 2009 Posted 16 February 2009 Oh Finners...The only countries he could've declared for are Wales and those well know World Cup regulars Sierra Lione so I'm not sure where "declaring himself Welsh" comes into the matter. I love you.
Thracian Posted 16 February 2009 Posted 16 February 2009 One cameo of close control was masterful. The bloke is still so positive too. An example to all.
purpleronnie Posted 16 February 2009 Posted 16 February 2009 Wish he'd chosen England over Wales, find it a little strange he did, I bet he regrets that decision.

Alexikokopops Posted 16 February 2009 Posted 16 February 2009 Wish he'd chosen England over Wales, find it a little strange he did, I bet he regrets that decision. You're doing this on purpose aren't you?
Corky Posted 16 February 2009 Posted 16 February 2009 Wish he'd chosen England over Wales, find it a little strange he did, I bet he regrets that decision. If he didn't choose Wales, he wouldn't have played international football.
Alexikokopops Posted 16 February 2009 Posted 16 February 2009 If he didn't choose Wales, he wouldn't have played international football. He could've played for Sierra Lione as well. I think no matter how often Finners rages people will always think he could've played for England.

Oh yes, Sierra Leone instead of Wales, but he couldn't have played for England, that's what we do know.
lildave3 Posted 16 February 2009 Posted 16 February 2009 Well this is all very interesting, but why did he choose Wales over England? Tool.
Alexikokopops Posted 16 February 2009 Posted 16 February 2009 Well this is all very interesting, but why did he choose Wales over England? Tool. You better watch yourself at Bristol BOYO
Ultra Posted 17 February 2009 Posted 17 February 2009 Oh Finners...The only countries he could've declared for are Wales and those well know World Cup regulars Sierra Lione so I'm not sure where "declaring himself Welsh" comes into the matter. Well he's only lived in England for the past THIRTY years, so I guess I was being optimistic to think he could have qualified through residence. Zola Budd managed it in 30 DAYS, and some cricketers not much longer than that.
Uncle Albert Posted 17 February 2009 Posted 17 February 2009 Ryan Giggs is Mr. Premier League. He doesnt have the all time appearence record though does he?
Ultra Posted 17 February 2009 Posted 17 February 2009 Ryan Giggs is Mr. Premier League. He doesnt have the all time appearence record though does he? No, Peter Shilton still has that. Giggs would have to play at least another five years to get close to his record.

He's a UK resident, his nationality is British in the eyes of the law. He can't qualify as "English" through residence. That's why we have British Passports. And British Driving Licenses. And the same currency.
Uncle Albert Posted 17 February 2009 Posted 17 February 2009 No, Peter Shilton still has that. Giggs would have to play at least another five years to get close to his record. Ow sorry I meant the Premier League record.
welck12 Posted 17 February 2009 Posted 17 February 2009 Ow sorry I meant the Premier League record. Nope David James has that record, he took it off gary speed at the weekend with around his 543rd (i think) apperance

Residency Laws came in way, WAY after Giggs made his international debut. Don't be a tool, Ultra.

Giggs has no English family and was born in Wales. Alex has the Sierra Leone bit bang on - unbeknown to most people, Giggs is mixed-race and proud of being both black and Welsh. There you go. I did it. I hope you're all proud.
