Hitesh Posted 27 February 2009 Share Posted 27 February 2009 I found the video tape of it over Christmas and watched the game again! Wasn't the best in terms of football but it reminded me of the good times!

Tommeh Posted 27 February 2009 Share Posted 27 February 2009 Amazing day at the proper Wemberlee, won't be another like it. Stanmore station at midday packed out with thousands of Blues and two Tranmere, fantastic memories.
maddog Posted 27 February 2009 Share Posted 27 February 2009 Wonderful day Id rather we won the Tottenham one aswell How the fook did we lose that one They had 10 men for most of the game didn't they, and we had so many chances Thats the last English Trophy MON has won The Scottish ones are easy when your manager of Celtic

Uncle Albert Posted 27 February 2009 Share Posted 27 February 2009 Was a good day, I think was the first time we ever went to Wembley that we were favourites for once. Like Tommeh said I dont think I will experience the days I had at Boro', Spurs and Tranmere again at the new Wembley.

Having 10 men spurred Tottenham on (no pun intended), and they nicked it at the end. It made the Tranmere win more special in my opinion.

Shrenchel Posted 27 February 2009 Share Posted 27 February 2009 Fantastic day. On a different highly hypothetical/optimistic/irrelevant point. The play-off finals next season look likely to be held in Cardiff. Which by all accounts is a much better day out than the new wembley. Obviously the chances of us ending up there are fook all to cock all.

Scow Posted 27 February 2009 Share Posted 27 February 2009 I remember the treatment their defender Challinor got from our fans for his throw - he was no Delap though.
CosbehFox Posted 27 February 2009 Share Posted 27 February 2009 They had 10 men for most of the game didn't they They played 27 minutes with ten men. I didn't get a ticket but went to the semi at Filbo against Sunderland - what an atmosphere that night (I'll remember that forever).

Atmosphere is better I think, and a decent day/night on the piss as well. Roll on next season!

Those 27 minutes must have felt like an eternity and i suppose they did as it was still 0-0 and we couldn't score

ASH17LCFC Posted 28 February 2009 Share Posted 28 February 2009 I remember Elliot scoring the second because everyone was thinking extra time and then Impey came on and making quite a impact. Didn't someone miss a sitter ? I swear it was Lennon. Last time i ever went Wembley. Great day.
