Lamby Posted 17 April 2009 Posted 17 April 2009 You aren't keeping Bailey. He is joining us. He said he wants to stay here anyways
Matt Posted 17 April 2009 Posted 17 April 2009 He said he wants to stay here anyways So did Hume, McAuley, Stearman and co for us. Well i'm not 100% sure McAuley and Stearman came out with any "I want to stay" statement's there was so much shit, boring and stupid statements made by players during last season i'm sure who said what but Hume certainly said he wanted to stay and help us get promoted back to the Championship.
The Doctor Posted 17 April 2009 Posted 17 April 2009 Well we are unbeaten in 4, even if we win tomorrow and Forest or Norwichgain any points, we go do down. Would be nice to go down with a win though.Even worse being releagted at home. We'll be back as Champions! And we're gonna win the Paint Trophy, something that you didnt manage because we didn't want to win a mickey-mouse trophy. thats only for clubs with no pride whatsoever (which is why its a surprise that leeds haven't won it yet)
Samilktray Posted 17 April 2009 Posted 17 April 2009 because we didn't want to win a mickey-mouse trophy. thats only for clubs with no pride whatsoever (which is why its a surprise that leeds haven't won it yet) Why wouldnt anyone be proud of winning it? Its a trophy at the end of the day. disabled.
Matt Posted 17 April 2009 Posted 17 April 2009 because we didn't want to win a mickey-mouse trophy. thats only for clubs with no pride whatsoever (which is why its a surprise that leeds haven't won it yet) There was the argument of the time when we were still in the trophy and some people wanted us out of that cup, but how can you not want your club to win a trophy. Success is success. League One is a micky-mouse league lets be fair but we wanted to win it didn't we? Surely getting knocked out of a micky-mouse trophy is more embarrassing than winning a micky-mouse trophy where you are the biggest club in the trophy and almost expected or are the favorite to win it? Some people need to take their heads out their arses, We are where we are for a reason. (Or as of tomorrow you can chance 'are' the 'were')
Joe. Posted 17 April 2009 Posted 17 April 2009 We'll be back as Champions! And we're gonna win the Paint Trophy, something that you didnt manage Erm, you won't. And also we'll be the team everyone wants to beat. Could be a struggle but if we keep most of our squad together such as Bailey, Shelvey, Hudson and Gray then we should walk the league. Again, you won't.
Lamby Posted 17 April 2009 Posted 17 April 2009 Erm, you won't. Again, you won't. Why wont we be champions? Yes everyone will want to beat us as we were a Prem team 2/3 seasons ago
Samilktray Posted 17 April 2009 Posted 17 April 2009 If Leeds are still in League 1, which I dont think they will be anyway. Everyone will still see them as the big club im afraid.
LeeCovFox Posted 17 April 2009 Posted 17 April 2009 Why wont we be champions?Yes everyone will want to beat us as we were a Prem team 2/3 seasons ago I have to agree with Joe. I can't see Charlton winning the league next season. When you are relegated, you will be joined by two of Norwich, Forest, Southampton and Barnsley. It is also possible that Leeds, MK Dons and Peterborough will be left in the division for you to compete with. We were fortunate in that we were relegated along with two sides who have relatively small resources when compared to ourselves. Both Peterborough and MK Dons have challenged us closely at various points this season, and I have no doubt that Leeds would have had they started the season with Simon Grayson at the helm. I can only see next season being a lot more competitive at the top of League One. In terms of being the side which others want to beat, again, that will not be the case. Even assuming that two of Leeds, Peterborough, MK Dons and Millwall are promoted, you are still left with clubs who, next season, will be high on the 'must beat' list of clubs in this league. Leeds and Millwall for their history (for various reasons), Peterborough and MK Dons for being moneyed in comparison to other clubs at this level. Add to that the sides who go down with you, none of whom are any 'smaller' than Charlton, and you are faced with a very different proposition to that which faced us this time nine months ago.
Lamby Posted 17 April 2009 Posted 17 April 2009 We're still gonna piss the league. We're all going on a League 1 Road Trip!
Matt Posted 18 April 2009 Posted 18 April 2009 Charlton officially first team to drop from the Championship.
MC Prussian Posted 18 April 2009 Posted 18 April 2009 Feel sorry for Charlton... Good luck to them in League One - they'll need it!
Lamby Posted 18 April 2009 Posted 18 April 2009 fook off Lee Hughes you fooking muderer. fooking ****. Yes we abused him
Samilktray Posted 18 April 2009 Posted 18 April 2009 fook off Lee Hughes you fooking muderer. fooking ****.Yes we abused him Awwww.
J.Lisemore Posted 18 April 2009 Posted 18 April 2009 So...who's leaving first ...Zheng Zhi? Nicky Bailey? Andy Gray? take you pick.
Lamby Posted 18 April 2009 Posted 18 April 2009 So...who's leaving first ...Zheng Zhi? Nicky Bailey? Andy Gray? take you pick. ZZ defo. He's out of contract and his agent went around end of last season asking clubs to sign him, then he remembered who he actually played for. Bailey's staying Gray dunno about, might take a wage cut, who knows
StanSP Posted 18 April 2009 Posted 18 April 2009 ZZ defo. He's out of contract and his agent went around end of last season asking clubs to sign him, then he remembered who he actually played for.Bailey's staying Gray dunno about, might take a wage cut, who knows That's what you think. Once a club comes in for him in Ch'ship or Premier League (unlikely though) he'll be gone. Take a look at Hume, McAuley and Stearman who left us because we went down. Don't take for granted anyone at your club now. Top players most likely will go...

I would be suprised if Andy Gray stayed aswel. Then again...I was very surprised when Howard and Oakley stayed with us last season.
Lamby Posted 18 April 2009 Posted 18 April 2009 Isn't he still China captain? I would be suprised if Andy Gray stayed aswel. Then again...I was very surprised when Howard and Oakley stayed with us last season. Yeah he is. He's shit most of the time anyway. Who would want Gray though?
CosbehFox Posted 18 April 2009 Posted 18 April 2009 Yes everyone will want to beat us as we were a Prem team 2/3 seasons ago Incorrect. You have that history as a third tier team. Southampton and possibly Norwich will be the 'names'.
J.Lisemore Posted 18 April 2009 Posted 18 April 2009 Yeah he is. He's shit most of the time anyway.Who would want Gray though? Hmm...Gray is/was a decent striker. Didn't Stoke make a bid for him not long ago? but turned them down. I think he could still make it at a Championship club.
Lamby Posted 18 April 2009 Posted 18 April 2009 Hmm...Gray is/was a decent striker. Didn't Stoke make a bid for him not long ago? but turned them down. I think he could still make it at a Championship club. Yeah Stoke wanted him on loan to buy but he rejected. He's got a broken Pelvis atm so I dont think he's going anywhere too soon And his wife also got ill 12 hours after giving birth so he's been affeted by that aswell.
Darkzzz_ Posted 18 April 2009 Posted 18 April 2009 Really feel for the Charlton fans tonight, we know how it feels. I will be keeping a close eye on them next season and I hope they can rebuild and bounce straight back, there will be some tough games down there and we have experienced them. I am sure you will be celebrating this time next year.
