Father Ted Posted 13 March 2009 Posted 13 March 2009 It certainly doesn't show much confidence in Pentney. Nor in Logan who has played perfectly okay for the first team on occasions and when it was pretty important as we edged towards relegation two seasons back. It all seems more like spin the bottle than anything else and the phrase "rent-a-crowd" is becoming ever more appropriate, not that I'm surprised. It really seems as if Pearson doesn't rate Conrad even though he was a very good player a couple of seasons ago and was having a good season at Luton until his agent got involved. I would have faith in him if he was to start, he's big, good with crosses, commands his box and has a real big presence.
dandannieldanok Posted 13 March 2009 Posted 13 March 2009 Decent enough for this league, although I think the lack of continuity (through no fault of Pearson's) isn't helping the defence at all.
StanSP Posted 13 March 2009 Posted 13 March 2009 Decent enough for this league, although I think the lack of continuity (through no fault of Pearson's) isn't helping the defence at all. Yes it is. Pearson out
Narborough Bod Posted 13 March 2009 Posted 13 March 2009 I just think it's a bit embarassing to be honest Show's a total lack of faith in Pentney / Logan. it's Div 1 for God's sake, not the Premiership and I know it's a fairly big game for us but 6 is just getting a bit daft. And it shows the League / FA to be a bunch of nobbers. Why they haven't got the nous to say 'er actually, you've got 2 perfectly fit GK's who have played at this level or above so tough'.
clazkel Posted 13 March 2009 Posted 13 March 2009 I know Pearson doesnt have a choice due to injuries, but we need a settled keeper who knows the defence, so i think Pentney should be given a chance, he played well when he come on so he should give him a chance
teblin Posted 13 March 2009 Posted 13 March 2009 Been decent the few times i have seen him. fine at this level
StanSP Posted 13 March 2009 Posted 13 March 2009 You should just sign me imo. I'll let Nige know you're interested for when Tony breaks his legs
Lamby Posted 13 March 2009 Posted 13 March 2009 I'll let Nige know you're interested for when Tony breaks his legs Im actually alright, I once kept a cleansheet against my College team for 20 mins, until I fell over a blade of grass and subsequently let in 7 after that.
CosbehFox Posted 13 March 2009 Posted 13 March 2009 I would have faith in him if he was to start, he's big, I'll stop there. He's more than big...huge....now he's grown up, he's the next Rab Douglas.
knowitall Posted 13 March 2009 Posted 13 March 2009 Just to cover some points raised in this tread. Conrad Logan has been told he will never play under NP. Has for his agent getting involved at Luton, lets get the facts straight. Conrad signed on loan at Luton. Leicester agreeded to keep paying half his wages. Luton last month wanted to extend his loan until the end of the season. Leicester said great but he has played in all your games so for the new contract Luton must pay all his wages. Luton refused and Leicester then told Conrads agent to sort it out. His agent rang Luton and told them Conrad would not play for half his wages and treat him with respect. Carl Pentney is still very young and NP does not want to risk his job on Carl. If Leicester do not go up NP will be sacked. Tony Warner, someone said his nickname was Bonus because he never collected any at Liverpool. Tony's number plate is "BIONUS" true. Dave Stockdale has a very slight injury. Dave and Leicester wanted to play against Millwall, but Fulham said NO. Dave will be fit for the Colchester match and if he does not play expect him to return to Fulham. On a side note Patrick Kisnorbo, and Paul Dickov have travel with the squad to Millwall.
MC Prussian Posted 13 March 2009 Posted 13 March 2009 I want Kevin Poole back I want Kasey Keller back.
MC Prussian Posted 13 March 2009 Posted 13 March 2009 My guess is Pearson wants somebody more established for the remaining "big" match-ups, including Millwall, Peterborough or Leeds. I can see Pentney or Logan given a chance against Hereford or Crewe.
Sods Posted 14 March 2009 Posted 14 March 2009 Bloody hell, another one!Still, wasn't too impressed with Stockdale so perhaps it isn't a bad thing. Racist.

Actually Knowitall his number plate is more likely to be "B10 NUS" and now you have plastered it all over the internet (well a thread on Foxestalk), the chances of him being attacked at his home address by a faction of the Anti-loan system continuity mentalists, has now been greatly increased. Gordon Brown could really do without you stoking the fires of terrorism over the internet!

But doubt this would happen .Still need a massive effort from other teams to dislodge us from 1st. As for Stockdale, when is his loan ending with us anyway? Lastly, I think Kisnorbo would be a waste of a sub, because of the magnitude of the game. He isn't really match fit, and if he did have to come on as a sub, I don't think it will be great because of who we are playing.
AjcW Posted 14 March 2009 Posted 14 March 2009 I think its fair to say our inconsistency over the last month or so is due to the defence having to get used to a new goalkeeper every week. The young lads have had stability in that area for the majority of the season and they are bound to be disrupted by all this, it is very strange having so many keepers injured in one season, its usually a position were nothing much changes throughout a season. I think once Martin is back for hopefully the colchester game the run in will be comfortable and he needs to be one of the lads we need to sign permanently next season for consistency alone.
Father Ted Posted 14 March 2009 Posted 14 March 2009 I think once Martin is back for hopefully the colchester game the run in will be comfortable and he needs to be one of the lads we need to sign permanently next season for consistency alone. No.
ozleicester Posted 14 March 2009 Posted 14 March 2009 Our inconsistency is much based in the loss of Davies and Tunchev..plus goalkeepers, but, to have continued in a mostly unbeaten run with the injuries and changes is a great positive. I dont think we can afford to risk a young goalkeeper in these circumstances, let them watch and learn. In the end...if NP says he is putting a cheese stick and two lumps of broccoli in goals...he has my support.
AjcW Posted 14 March 2009 Posted 14 March 2009 I was actually really pleased with this keeper signing.... hes older, experienced etc....as apposed to the 3 previous young pretenders....i think a bit of experience is just what we needed at this time, especially in such a vital postition.
Simi Posted 14 March 2009 Posted 14 March 2009 Good to see the "Leicesters Number 6" chant got going!
