leftsideoverhere Posted 21 March 2009 Posted 21 March 2009 I certainly can't see a way two of them can do it. So while the title might still be a risky venture, I cannot see how we can throw away the promotion.
maddog Posted 21 March 2009 Posted 21 March 2009 I think our run in is one of the easiest. The Dons have an extremely tough one, and dropping points at Yeovil today could cost them. If we don't lose next week, i will have no doubt of our promotion.
ThorpeAstleyFox Posted 22 March 2009 Posted 22 March 2009 If the teams in question continue their current form (based on the last 6 games) for the remainder of the season then the points totals would be: Leicester City - 92 Peterborough United - 92 Milwall - 90 MK Dons - 78 If we lose next week this changes to: Peterbourough United - 96 Leicester City - 90 Milwall - 90 If we draw: Leicester City - 92 Peterborough United - 92 Milwall - 90 And if we win: Leicester City - 96 Peterborough United - 90 Milwall - 90 With the current form of Peterborough and Milwall next week's game is massive!
Candidcamera Posted 22 March 2009 Posted 22 March 2009 I look at it that Leicester do not think about any other team just keep producing as many points as they can. Yesterday is an example - no need to play classy football get the points - away from home has been the best bet.
teblin Posted 22 March 2009 Posted 22 March 2009 We can take at least 2 points away from millwall or p'boro as they are playing each other.
LCFC123 Posted 22 March 2009 Posted 22 March 2009 Win at peterborough next week and that's promotion and the title in my eyes. That would make us 10 points clear with 6 to go, which even we wouldn't be able to mess up... surely
Ford Super Sunday Posted 22 March 2009 Posted 22 March 2009 Trust the season we rape the league and get loads of points to be the season where we have 2 or 3 teams really doing well.. why couldnt we just go and win the league by 14-15 points... why is it never simple and relaxing being a Leicester fan? Looking at peterboroughs, I only see them having 2 dangerous fixtures for them, Millwall and Oldham... they will win all their others. We have a horrifc schedule, and its a good job we have done a lot of the work already. Leeds, Southend, Posh, Crewe, Scunnythorpe, Carlisle I am slowly coming round to the... one may catch us, but not two... so my very fragile optimism says we will go up 2nd
Webbo Posted 22 March 2009 Posted 22 March 2009 Looking at peterboroughs, I only see them having 2 dangerous fixtures for them, Millwall and Oldham... they will win all their others. They've still got to play us. Fair enough they might win but the fact that we're 7 points ahead of them and at the top of the league means that we should be counted as at least 'dangerous' as well.

Fair enough they might win but the fact that we're 7 points ahead of them and at the top of the league means that we should be counted as at least 'dangerous' as well. And we did win 4-0 last time, and last time they were also the form team and on a great run.....
StanSP Posted 22 March 2009 Posted 22 March 2009 And we did win 4-0 last time, and last time they were also the form team and on a great run..... This is the only thing giving me some kind of optimism going into next week's game.
Trav Le Bleu Posted 22 March 2009 Posted 22 March 2009 Dons run in looks easy apart from Leeds, but they have worse form than us recently. We need to recapture our form.
Tilley Posted 22 March 2009 Posted 22 March 2009 1. Peterborough 2 Leeds - - - - - - - - - - - - - 3. Leicester

demon_dog Posted 22 March 2009 Posted 22 March 2009 This is beginning to look familiar to last seasons scenario. People looking at games and thinking will we, won't we. Last season as we all know it went to the wire as to who would be relegated. This season could well be the same regarding promotion. Leading the division for a long time yet faltering down the home straight. Last season our destiny was in our own hands, we cocked that up big time. Let's hope we don't do the same thing again. Until we enough points to stop the team in third place catching us then the promotion race is not over. As ThorpeAstleyFox points out on current form we could finish second only due to our better goal difference. The question is can we at the moment maintain even our current form with so many players out. As many say next weeks game is important, a win or draw should be sufficient, a loss and we will almost certainly be looking nervously over our shoulders. All I ask is let's get the bloody points as soon as possible, then we can play as shitty as we like afterwards.

NorthernFox Posted 22 March 2009 Posted 22 March 2009 As one miserable, dour, sourfaced old pensionable scots git once mentioned, "Its Squeaky Bum Time"!!
carterfox90 Posted 22 March 2009 Posted 22 March 2009 nervous end to the season again at least its not relegation this time :sweating:
demon_dog Posted 24 March 2009 Posted 24 March 2009 Why do we never do things the easy way? 'Cos we're Leicester City.
whitlock Posted 24 March 2009 Posted 24 March 2009 nervous end to the season again at least its not relegation this time :sweating: Maybe true but i think if we cocked it up and didnt secure promotion this season i think it may hurt more than relegation last season!
maddog Posted 24 March 2009 Posted 24 March 2009 Relegation last season was a massive blessing in disguise asuming we do go up. If we hadn't been relegated we would probably still be stuck with Ollie, the same shitty squad with none of the loanees we have now, no Tunchev, no Dyer, and be in a relegation fight in the Championship again, or ended up going down. So going down last season may have saved us being in League one next season At best i think we would have finished mid-table in the championship this season had we stayed up with Ollie, and may have ended up with 3, 4 more years of shit in the championship before finally going down. Of course we will never know now
