Koke Posted 2 April 2009 Posted 2 April 2009 Does anyone else watch it? I've watched a few episodes of it, and I've thoroughly enjoyed it.
Shrenchel Posted 3 April 2009 Posted 3 April 2009 fooking cracking. Takes a couple of episodes to get in to because it's a bit more complex and got a lot more charactes than you're average Americam drama but it's well worth it. Only seen two series though because I moved to a new flat with donkey slow internet so can't watch streams anymore. Might order the DVD, although my social/sex life was starting to suffer a bit from my addiction.
placidcasual Posted 3 April 2009 Posted 3 April 2009 Show is absolutely fantastic. So layered and multi dimensional.
James. Posted 3 April 2009 Posted 3 April 2009 Saw the first episode of series one last week and saw the potential to get well in to it. My housemates have gone on to watch a few more and absolutely love it. Will definitely give it a crack. Read somewhere that it helps to watch with subtitles so you can understand everything that's going on!
Bellend Sebastian Posted 3 April 2009 Posted 3 April 2009 I've seen the first two so far and thought it was great. I know there are a lot to catch up on but I wish they weren't showing it every blooming night. My Sky + is going to be bursting at the seams before long
Alexikokopops Posted 3 April 2009 Posted 3 April 2009 I watched the third one when drunk, then watched the fourth last night and were thoroughly confused. I'm going to borrow my mate's DVD
Master Fox Posted 3 April 2009 Posted 3 April 2009 yeah, it's good. My missus got me into it. She's a huge fan, and even went to the recording studios in Baltimore to meet the cast. Anyway, i'm not as mental as she is but it's a good show. I think series 3 is meant to be the best? I've seen the 4th and some the first. I like it.
CosbehFox Posted 3 April 2009 Posted 3 April 2009 It's excellent. I am on Series 5, Ep 7. So not long to go. It's beyond any drama series I've seen. Very detailed, there's probably 30+ main characters and the way they intertwin is superb. It's basically a show about Baltimore really - and through the series covers all the 'authority' or 'insitituions' in the city. Best TV programme ever IMO. Series 3 and 4 are the best but obiviously need the set-up of the first two series because of the background in the characters and storyline. Series 4 where concentrates on the school is very good whilst early parts of Series 2 are difficult to get through.
James. Posted 3 April 2009 Posted 3 April 2009 Homicide by David Simon People may want to have a read of this book, apparently it's amazing and forms the basis for some of the characters in the show.
Koke Posted 3 April 2009 Author Posted 3 April 2009 I quite like McNulty and Bunk Moreland. I also have to do some catching up, may have to borrow someone's DVD. The time slot is a bit late for some though, although with all the nudity, foul language etc it's understandable.
CosbehFox Posted 3 April 2009 Posted 3 April 2009 I go through phases with the characters but Bunk remains the man throughout. 'What's the plural for pussy? Pussai.'
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 3 April 2009 Posted 3 April 2009 Got the Doovdes. Can't recommend it enough.
placidcasual Posted 3 April 2009 Posted 3 April 2009 Homicide by David SimonPeople may want to have a read of this book, apparently it's amazing and forms the basis for some of the characters in the show. More of them show up in Homicide:Life on the Street. Which was also a David Simon thing.
Head Honcho Posted 5 April 2009 Posted 5 April 2009 I know it's on BBC2 but I've just bought series 1 for £15 on ebay. Can't be arsed to record it or stay up until past 11 to watch it.
frenzal Posted 5 April 2009 Posted 5 April 2009 Just finished Season 1 and got quite into it. Think I'll have to watch the next series before deciding if it's as good as The Shield.
BoneDog Posted 6 April 2009 Posted 6 April 2009 Someone told me this is the best tv series ever. I gonna get series one soon and check it out
CosbehFox Posted 6 April 2009 Posted 6 April 2009 Just finished Season 1 and got quite into it. Think I'll have to watch the next series before deciding if it's as good as The Shield. Series 2's an effort but keep going!
Bellend Sebastian Posted 6 April 2009 Posted 6 April 2009 Caught up on the first week's episodes over the weekend. It's wonderful, I'm hooked. The hype, for once, is justified. Whether I'll still feel the same after 5 season's worth is another matter
Koke Posted 6 April 2009 Author Posted 6 April 2009 It's on now again. It's a bit difficult following it every night, Mon-Fri
welck12 Posted 7 April 2009 Posted 7 April 2009 Just finished Season 1 and got quite into it. Think I'll have to watch the next series before deciding if it's as good as The Shield. Its better
General Smuts Posted 7 April 2009 Posted 7 April 2009 Keep meaning to check this out online and i've had the series link in my favourites for months. If its on bbc 2 atm i may have to check this badboy out on iPlayer.
CosbehFox Posted 7 April 2009 Posted 7 April 2009 Does McNulty end up fooking the lesbo? No instead we have intense lesbian random scene for about 30 seconds.
Milky Posted 7 April 2009 Posted 7 April 2009 No instead we have intense lesbian random scene for about 30 seconds. last friday saw about 5 secs of action. Just a snog and tit grope. Really thought McNulty would tap that aswell. Shame.
Koke Posted 9 April 2009 Author Posted 9 April 2009 Stringer Bell and Wallace (the kid with the braids) are my favourite characters. Stringer is super cool.
