Christ on a bike, we're a feckin cheery bunch round here eh? How's about instead of moaning we make sure that at least us FTers are in good voice for this one
Thracian Posted 7 April 2009 Posted 7 April 2009 True enough. Two games in three days is a tough ask given that we're not at full strength, but I suppose it's the same for every other club in this division. At least Leeds are playing on Saturday too instead of Good Friday. Yes, but while our problems mount we've got young and fastish players like Wesolowski and Odhiambo playing in the Scottish Premiership for Dundee United and Inverness Cally respectively and DJ playing at Blackpool. Meanwhile we're fielding an ever older and more experience line-up with older/experienced players on he bench in the main and our progress has slown to that of carthorses on a mudbath. When i see the likes of Hayles, Dickov and Berner on our bench plus people like Edworthy being named as preferred full-back it really does get me down. We may still stumble across the finishing line yet, but our form since the beginning of February wouldn't have kept us above mid-table even in Division One. I'd hate 29,000 to see us humbled on Monday although we do tend to do okay against Leeds at home.
maddog Posted 7 April 2009 Posted 7 April 2009 Im guessing we must have sold 24000+ to Leicester fans and Leeds bought their 3000. Unless the figure on the website includes the 3000 Leeds bought, which it probably does. Either way we will get 27000+ for this one. Which will be good to see, although the kop was full @ the Carlisle game.

Uncle Albert Posted 7 April 2009 Posted 7 April 2009 As long as no Turkey chants are aimed at the Leeds fans.
Ford Super Sunday Posted 7 April 2009 Posted 7 April 2009 I'm going to try and move to L1 from the Kop for Leeds. Especially if we get some people around me who aren't willing to sing and stand. In fact, forget them, I'm on a one man mission to get the Kop in full voice. Whereabouts in SK are you? I am in 4... you've got no chance with the majority of them 1,2,3 I guess you could get going. If we scored early, it would create a belting atmosphere (belting for this season anyway)
MC Prussian Posted 7 April 2009 Posted 7 April 2009 Is this on TV? Yes!! YESS - and I will be on TV, too!!! That's my face after we've conceded the third.
Fosse Boy Posted 7 April 2009 Posted 7 April 2009 I'm going to try and move to L1 from the Kop for Leeds. Especially if we get some people around me who aren't willing to sing and stand. In fact, forget them, I'm on a one man mission to get the Kop in full voice. Good fucking luck! As long as no Turkey chants are aimed at the Leeds fans. Sadly, like all clubs, we have our share of ****** as fans though. But yeah, if anyone does start anything of that nature it'll hopefully get shouted down pretty quickly by the majority.
Dr The Singh Posted 7 April 2009 Posted 7 April 2009 YESS - and I will be on TV, too!!! That's my face after we've conceded the third. You have no nose Alexie!!!!!
Isopen Posted 7 April 2009 Posted 7 April 2009 I just wonder if the Leeds game might take the edge off our performance at Hereford. I hope not. But I'm also concerned about the thinness of our squad. If mainstream players get injured or worn out we really have so little in the way fit, fast or capable cover. Must have game plan to make the game safe as early as possible, suppose that means a 3 goal lead, then decide our 3 key players & take them off. Born optimist
Legend_in_blue Posted 7 April 2009 Posted 7 April 2009 Everything about the run-up to this one suggests that a mighty fall is on the cards. I hope I am wrong. It'll be a good advert for league one though and will show that there isn't a huge difference between the quality of league 1 and the championship. We need to go into this game off a win Saturday against Hereford. The momentum should see us through.
Daggers Posted 7 April 2009 Posted 7 April 2009 a mighty fall is on the cards. Yup - there's no way their run of form can continue, or our run of bad luck come to that.
Corky Posted 7 April 2009 Posted 7 April 2009 As long as no Turkey chants are aimed at the Leeds fans. I have a feeling, with this being such an important match, that there will be a lot of tension and something could kick off. I mean, remember when it was so prevelant back in 2005, and that was an end-of-season match between two mid-table sides.

(saw Richard hammond attempt this on brainac: science abuse)
john_lcfc Posted 7 April 2009 Posted 7 April 2009 does that number on the OS include tickets Leeds have sold then? This may sway my attendance estimated by some 3,000.
davieG Posted 7 April 2009 Posted 7 April 2009 does that number on the OS include tickets Leeds have sold then? This may sway my attendance estimated by some 3,000. Seems to be clear to me that it does The Foxes confirmed on Monday that they had already surpassed the 23,390 figure that saw City register an emphatic 4-0 victory over Peterborough United in December. That figure included the Peterboro' contingent, it was 23390 + the Leeds tickets I'm sure they'd be saying 27K.
Daggers Posted 7 April 2009 Posted 7 April 2009 I have a feeling, with this being such an important match, that there will be a lot of tension and something could kick off.I mean, remember when it was so prevelant back in 2005, and that was an end-of-season match between two mid-table sides. Last home game against them had an awful atmosphere - the stewards were way too hyper-sensitive while Leeds outsang us from beginning to end. I can't see this being different. We've moved from L1 for the match as it is going to be dickhead central with morons doing that slashing thing across their throat and inviting Leeds to "come on in". Sometimes I wish Raj would calm down.
MC Prussian Posted 7 April 2009 Posted 7 April 2009 You have no nose Alexie!!!!! Some Leeds fan will have probably cut it off by then - either that or a poor Sikh!!!
lou Posted 7 April 2009 Posted 7 April 2009 Yeah the Turkey chants and neck slashing stuff was terrible last time round..... dont lads get brave when theres a big line of police/stewards between them and the Leeds fans. Im still in L1 but near the front so hopefully will be out the way of any of that nonsense. It did make me thoroughly ashamed last time. No need.
