Stearman

I've always quite rated Stearman, despite finding him careless or frustrating at times and would have liked to see him in a better side because the City team he played in was never going to much help anyone.

It was a pity City never played him as a first team centre-back, especially as I never much rated Kisnorbo or McAuley, but whether he would displace Tunchev, Hobbs or Brown I'd doubt.

And, if he didn't, that would just leave right-back as his likely "residence" a position where he was one of our most consistnet performers, albeit in a wretched side.

I'm not much for going backwards or having old boys return and Dickov's contribution this season only strengthens the point.

But on balance, and assuming Pearson couldn't find better, the move might work. I'd prefer him to Gilbert and, of course, he would be cover at centre-back, something we've badly needed at times this season.

That might be important considering that I'm still less than convinced that Tunchev will ever be the player he was pre-injury.

Why? There is no evidence to suggest that he can't be as good as before, Look at Shearer, Van Nistleroy - even Walshie. Didn't make them any worse. No reports of anty setbacks so far. I am sure he can be as good as before.

Then I'll doubtless be proved wrong, won't I?

Since Wolves have been promoted, if Stearman isn't playing he might be coming back here on a Years loan.

Thats the latest rumour going around, even from Wolves fans.

Think having him back would be a step backwards not forwards since berra come to wolves hes been coming on as a 80 min+ sub so i doubt he will have any chance of getting into a premier league side next year.

Wouldn't take Stearman back in any capacity....he's a centre back and we already have sufficient talent in this area.

As for the Tunch, he'll be fine....The exact date of his comeback can't be stated but Cruciate injuries are so commonplace and rehabilitative/operational techniques so advanced, that he should be 100% recovered. For a defender whose primary strengths involve reading the game and simple distribution, such an injury is not so critical anyway.

He looks a right gaylord. lol

If we're honest, that massive tattoo of a copyright symbol across his face is doing him no favours at all...

I still chuckle about last season's home game against Bristol City. Stearman knocks the ball into the net, hurdles the advertising boards and jumps into the crowd (me and my son took the first hit!).

The goal was ruled out but we were too busy celebrating. It was a good 15-20 seconds before Stearman realised, rescued his shirt and got back on the pitch :crylaugh:

Would I have him back? No. He was one of the best of a bad bunch. We have moved on.

Stearman was atrocious in the relegation season. Admittedly, in the last third/quarter of it, his game picked up but only because he knew scouts were watching him and he wanted to leave. He had no motivation for Leicester City and whilst being out of favour for Wolves may tempt him to return, a player that has once lost the will to perform for a club (DJ Campbell is another) combined with the fact that returning players rarely do well - both combine to convince me that we should not have him back.

Should he return, then the slightest problem - such as the club going through a bad patch or being dropped would probably see a return to the demotivated Stearman we saw before. Leicester have moved on, so should he. If Wolves are not working out for him let him try another club.

I reckon he was having a ' J Arthur' drooling over Stearmans gay photo, whilst typing his post?
