Poakey Posted 25 April 2009 Posted 25 April 2009 was she fit ? worth a late night wank? By the sounds of it she was.. Depends what your into dude. City are Champions BTW!!
lefox Posted 25 April 2009 Posted 25 April 2009 I honestly believe some of our fans want us to lose sometimes just to give them something to moan about, then if we are winning they have to find fault with something else. Just look on the front page at the bottom... most users online.. the day we were relegated to league 1...
Koke Posted 25 April 2009 Author Posted 25 April 2009 Just look on the front page at the bottom... most users online.. the day we were relegated to league 1... To be fair, we secured promotion last week at Southend and most people probably had a better time in Southend than they had tonight. I couldn't be arsed to go to the game tonight, I wasn't up for it at all. And plus, Stoke post-match last season we had loads of Derby,Coventry and Plymouth fans on here as well as our own.
lefox Posted 25 April 2009 Posted 25 April 2009 dirty sheep and shit coloured shirts. I didn't find this place until that day. I admit to joining then, not to moan, just needed to see what other people thought. I just didn't know what to do with myself. Was horrible, but we're back after one season. Despite the loss of players, loss of form towards the end, we pretty much walked it. It's a time to celebrate.

lefox Posted 25 April 2009 Posted 25 April 2009 I've got to wait til Sunday.. but it will be alcohol drunk excessively for the boys. I want my liver to hurt. I don't mind admitting to having a tear in my eye tonight.. missus wasn't too happy to me admitting that when i got back.. 'when was the last time you had a tear for me'... 'the last time you raided my wallet'.. looking back probably not the best response, however a promise of a trip to next soon sorted her out!
DJ Barry Hammond Posted 25 April 2009 Posted 25 April 2009 Enjoyable evening. Not long got home. Dito - but did you feel there was something missing? The strong atmosphere that had been created as the game started seemed to die after about 25 minutes, which possibly coincided with S****horpe starting to pose a threat and get into the game? Muzzi Izzet - legend!
Ultra Posted 25 April 2009 Posted 25 April 2009 Nobody seemed to give a fcuk in the second half, on or off the pitch. We went to 3-5-2 , which I can't remember ever seeing before under Pearson. At least we managed to extend our unbeaten home run to 24 games...
Darkzzz_ Posted 25 April 2009 Posted 25 April 2009 Last time I checked, neither 10 German Bombers or No surrender to the IRA (Keep me English) were the English National Anthem. When will they realize it was never cool to sing what their fathers song during the hooligan years. Only the brainless sing these songs. Anyway, tonight we weren't great, but it sure was nice to see us lifting the leaugue title. It was a great evening. Looking forward to Crewe next week because of Craig and Lee Hughes! Oh and in case you didn't see me tonight, just keep flicking to the diary of 08/09 in the programme and I headline that page! :-)
MC Prussian Posted 25 April 2009 Posted 25 April 2009 The build-up to the game was probably the best part of it. As for the match itself, I thought we'd win it comfortably, leading 1-0 at half-time and with a few more chances of going two nil ahead. Instead, what happened after the break was a massive performance drop. Not that Sc'unthorpe were the better team, quite on the contrary. I can't recall a game where both sides had already decided before kick-off not to put anything worthwile into it. There was hardly any direct threat towards the opposition's goal and it remained that way for three quarters of the game. The two Sc'unthorpe goals came out of nowhere and especially the penalty kick was a harsh call, as I didn't see our defender really pulling the other guy. It was more of a "I-let-myself-fall-down-and-see-what-the-referee-is-saying". Agree - both defenses were piss-poor and the score could've been even higher had either side had more determination and class. It was a pretty even match, with slightly more chances on our side. But we didn't convert them and for most part, played like the Iron. Very cautious. It felt like the players themselves already had their head at the League One title celebration. Yes, we did look like we were losing it, but thank god for a random free-kick and Morrison's second goal. We salvaged a draw, but I'm left disappointed. The after-game celebrations were a bit... simplistic, formal and VERY short. At least the players came around the pitch to say thank you. The weather was just perfect for such a night: Hardly any clouds, marvellously high temperatures and a vivid sight onto the pitch. This all reflected in the atmosphere which was one of the best I've ever witnessed and heard at the Walkers. We were loud constantly. Obviously, I didn't hear any of the racist chants people were complaining about earlier on. And as for the desperate little chavs who just had to make it down to the seated area in L1, pushing other people around towards the end of the game: You are a bunch of tw*tty fairweather fans and not fit to wear the shirt or attending any more Leicester City matches. Best part of the night, however, was meeting some more new (or even old) FT members at the game and afterwards at the club.

leftsideoverhere Posted 25 April 2009 Posted 25 April 2009 Good night, but by far the best bit was hanging around after the game so that Greg could get autographs from the players on the 'champions' centre spread in the programme. Having his photo taken with Max kept him so excited he could hardly sleep when we got home. Post horn gallop always a winner, quo and queen less so. Wish they'd let us just sing our songs and cheer, rather than making us pretend to be Freddie Mercury, but that seems to be a trend these days. Game was not that impressive. Nothing to say. I think my mum was the only person in the ground who cared what the score was. Parents, eh? Crowd in SK4 didn't know the words to WYS. fook it, they didn't know the words to "Come on Leicester". So many around me seemed to only be there for the presentation, and even then didn't make much noise. They're the reason we got 'we are the champions' I guess. I hope they enjoyed themselves, though, 'cos a full stadium is better than an empty stadium and maybe they can learn to sing along. Thankfully we couldn't hear any of the crap nationalist junk that Daggers reported. L block looked awesome, jumping up for the champions pretty much all night. Left side/right side when people right along the East and West stand joined in was ace, and it would have been even better if more had got the idea. Looking forward to next season (ST in SK3, Jack Hobbs, playing Newcastle). Realised during the game that the one thing I hate about league one more than crap referees is crap linesmen. What is the point of having them if they only ever indicate the direction of a throw after the referee has done so - you're supposed to be helping him, not following him, you ****heads. Anyway, hopefully the standard of officiating will improve next year. Sore throat this morning, and sore heard. Just wishing I could get tickets to Crewe to round off the season in appropriate style. And Daggers, you should have been in the kop, mate. I came direct from work, and had three bags with me after a visit to the club shop. I could have smuggled tactical nukes into the ground, never mind a small stick, 'cos none of my bags were searched. More to the point, I could have smuggled the bottle of champagne that I chickened out of bringing 'cos I didn't want it confiscating. Bugger!
leftsideoverhere Posted 25 April 2009 Posted 25 April 2009 Forgot to mention - think I saw more FTers in the programme than at the game last night! Media whores, one and all!
MC Prussian Posted 25 April 2009 Posted 25 April 2009 All in all, I found the atmosphere created by more than 30'000 people to be one of the best I've ever witnessed at the Walkers - but then again, I've seen about as many home games as there are fingers on my left hand. Always chanting (apart from a short spell after Sc'unthorpe had scored their second), switching tunes, the La Ola going around three times, that was ace.
Filbert_Ross Posted 25 April 2009 Posted 25 April 2009 cant believe how some around me were stressing about how we were playing last night. relax.
breadandcheese Posted 25 April 2009 Posted 25 April 2009 Bit disappointed with last night if I'm honest. Was hoping for a barn-storming last home match to round off a champion winning season. Instead, S****horpe were probably the better side. Was then hoping for a big party celebration. Instead it was all a bit flat. You couldn't make out what the Birch or the players were saying, the lap of honour seemed flat and trophy presentation was all a bit too quick rather than building up the atmos. When we used to reach play-off finals back in the 90s, the end of season celebration was much more lively and far better. I wonder whether the Tigers playing today at the Walkers had an impact to ensure the pitch wasn't damaged for today's game?
StanSP Posted 25 April 2009 Posted 25 April 2009 Abso-fuckin-lutely loved last night. Best atmosphere I've been in at the Walkers was awesome. And being closer to the Kop than usual made it even better. Surprised Morrison getting in on the goals! Fryatt should have banged in the one that got cleared off the line. But overall it was a great game to watch. Well done to S****horpe for giving it their all, especially second half. Loved all the chants, even when they scored both their goals. Can't wait til next season now!!

The strong atmosphere that had been created as the game started seemed to die after about 25 minutes, which possibly coincided with S****horpe starting to pose a threat and get into the game? Muzzi Izzet - legend! Definitely. It was all just rather flat, I felt. The game was - at best - average (and I'm being generous, truth be told). The celebrations were, well, a little lame. I hate moaning, and I'm thrilled we're going up, but I can't help wondering if the club should have made a little more of it. And what was with the length of time it took them to 'set-up' for the presentation? Jeez, they only had to carry a few bits out onto the pitch and dig out their copies of 'Best of Tina Turner', 'Queens Greatest Hits', etc. Felt the evening really lost momentum at this point. Still, the fireworks were pretty!

And before anyone bites my head off, take a look at Hull and Swansea. Tipped to go straight back down, but have proved their worth, and we are more than capable of doing that.
ctfc for life Posted 25 April 2009 Posted 25 April 2009 just posting to say thanks to all the leicester fansin l1 who gave us four cheltenham fans a good wellcome last night top top people. champions champions  :scarf: :city:
Bert Posted 25 April 2009 Posted 25 April 2009 We had nothing to play for really. So no matter how well prepared and motivated the team is, the team with something to pay for is always going to want it more. Many of the players minds were one the "celebrations" A few Nobs in L1 and I was really annoyed at one point. But hey, times like these don't come a round very often, so let's just enjoy it whilst we can.
lefox Posted 25 April 2009 Posted 25 April 2009 Nice to see Gradel wasn't part of the squad first half! wtf happened there.
Trav Le Bleu Posted 25 April 2009 Posted 25 April 2009 Nice to see Gradel wasn't part of the squad first half! wtf happened there. Well he did get hit on the head by something in the first few minutes - no idea what though would've been a damn good shot by a Scunny fan as they were some way away. Enjoyable night but I'd just like to say this... THE MUSIC for the celebrations. We are the Champions (as I sang, "of League One!") Simply the Best (surely David Brent's presentation in the office has proved to everyone just how cheesey this is?) Rocking All Over the World It was a special occasion last night, but what do they play? Just what everyone else plays time and time and time and time again! I don't think We Are The Champions is a bad song even, but it's used every frikkin time! Sure there's another song that's been recorded in the past 30 years (ie, since Champions was recorded) that sums up the same sentiment? Oh, and lamest pitch invasion ever!
