Scunneh Post Match

Well he did get hit on the head by something in the first few minutes - no idea what though would've been a damn good shot by a Scunny fan as they were some way away.

Enjoyable night but I'd just like to say this... THE MUSIC for the celebrations.

We are the Champions (as I sang, "of League One!")

Simply the Best (surely David Brent's presentation in the office has proved to everyone just how cheesey this is?)

Rocking All Over the World

It was a special occasion last night, but what do they play? Just what everyone else plays time and time and time and time again! I don't think We Are The Champions is a bad song even, but it's used every frikkin time! Sure there's another song that's been recorded in the past 30 years (ie, since Champions was recorded) that sums up the same sentiment?

Oh, and lamest pitch invasion ever! :P

Firstly, the tannoy guy said not to

And I thought Gradel's injury was just a clash with a Scunny player. Haven't heard anything about something being thrown.

Good night, but by far the best bit was hanging around after the game so that Greg could get autographs from the players on the 'champions' centre spread in the programme. Having his photo taken with Max kept him so excited he could hardly sleep when we got home. Post horn gallop always a winner, quo and queen less so. Wish they'd let us just sing our songs and cheer, rather than making us pretend to be Freddie Mercury, but that seems to be a trend these days.

Game was not that impressive. Nothing to say. I think my mum was the only person in the ground who cared what the score was. Parents, eh?

Crowd in SK4 didn't know the words to WYS. fook it, they didn't know the words to "Come on Leicester". So many around me seemed to only be there for the presentation, and even then didn't make much noise. They're the reason we got 'we are the champions' I guess. I hope they enjoyed themselves, though, 'cos a full stadium is better than an empty stadium and maybe they can learn to sing along. Thankfully we couldn't hear any of the crap nationalist junk that Daggers reported. L block looked awesome, jumping up for the champions pretty much all night. Left side/right side when people right along the East and West stand joined in was ace, and it would have been even better if more had got the idea.

Looking forward to next season (ST in SK3, Jack Hobbs, playing Newcastle). Realised during the game that the one thing I hate about league one more than crap referees is crap linesmen. What is the point of having them if they only ever indicate the direction of a throw after the referee has done so - you're supposed to be helping him, not following him, you ****heads. Anyway, hopefully the standard of officiating will improve next year.

Sore throat this morning, and sore heard. Just wishing I could get tickets to Crewe to round off the season in appropriate style.

And Daggers, you should have been in the kop, mate. I came direct from work, and had three bags with me after a visit to the club shop. I could have smuggled tactical nukes into the ground, never mind a small stick, 'cos none of my bags were searched. More to the point, I could have smuggled the bottle of champagne that I chickened out of bringing 'cos I didn't want it confiscating. Bugger!

Certainly was in the Fan club last night :giggle:

I couldnt get a bloody programme.... gutted.

I thought it was a pen - he was pulling his shirt for sure, it was right in front of us. Not that it mattered in the big scheme of things.

He went down when he was on his own... unless it was earlier and he only realised a good few seconds later.

As for the pitch invasion I'm glad it didn't happen, but for all the bravado I heard from people on here and elsewhere their futile attempts made entertaining viewing! :P

I meant he had no squad number on his back..

Ah, well that's related to what I just posted, he changed shirts cos he got blood on it from that head injury in the 1st five mins.

Grow up.

Oh and they were pointing at M block not N.

I love it.

Shingles telling Daggers to "grow-up".

You couldn't make it up! :crylaugh:

Flags. You like them?

Me? I reckon flags look pretty decent, especially when they are of a decent size and being waved about during games creating an image of motion in a stand.

I thought it was wonderful that the club gave flags away to everyone at the beginning of last season - my two kids adored waving them at games.

So why, when me and Tom walked into L1 tonight, were two stewards and a stack of Leicestershire's finest cunstabulary removing the sticks from children's' flags?

Did any of them say... "you could have someones eye out with that?"

Thought the stewards (Mr Bates and co) in L1 did a sterling job stoppin the yobs invading the pitch and depriving everyone of a trophy presentation. Controlled it without being over the top.

Post match: Saw half of the city squad out in Leicester. Spoke to the legend that is Chris Powell....bagged a photo with Kerrea Gilbert.

Oh and David Martin aswell....he is definitely not coming back saying he has signed a new deal with Liverpool and is going back out on loan next season.

Could that be to us though?

Bit disappointed with last night if I'm honest.

Was hoping for a barn-storming last home match to round off a champion winning season. Instead, S****horpe were probably the better side.

Was then hoping for a big party celebration. Instead it was all a bit flat. You couldn't make out what the Birch or the players were saying, the lap of honour seemed flat and trophy presentation was all a bit too quick rather than building up the atmos. When we used to reach play-off finals back in the 90s, the end of season celebration was much more lively and far better. I wonder whether the Tigers playing today at the Walkers had an impact to ensure the pitch wasn't damaged for today's game?

I am in this ball park. Disappointing end to an excellent season. For some reason, I suspect Crewe will be the same. All the same records carted out and the trophy presentation was rather slap=dash. Also why can't Birch just leave the players to enjoy the applauds etc. rather than sticking a mic in their faces.

A decent end to what was an annoying night.

German Bombers and IRA songs bare no resemblance to football/the knowledge of those who sang it.

These songs have no relevance in any match, let alone the celebratory cup retaining last game of the season. Tw*ts.

So that was annoying.

A Man U fan I know went to the game and said how he loved the night and that he's 'always been a fan' of Leicester.

That was annoying.

Also, to any L1'ers: I sit on row NN seat 294 (about 5 seats from jobber) Has anyone noticed the three blokes behind me all season long? Miserable cocks. To be honest I hope they're foxestalkers so I can say what i've wanted to over the last year. They shout at jobber for banging the drum. If they hate the drum so ****ing much, why chose to sit 5 seats away from it? The main culprit, who looks like a bald Suggs, then held his finger in his ear to block the sound whilst maintaining the same grim look on his face that he's sported all year long. I mean seriously, grow up. Then when fans sang about Iwan Roberts, they'd laugh and attempt singing about Len Glover as if to substantiate that they're better fans. All that it substantiates is that they are, in fact, older than the majority of the crowd in L1.

Anyway, I thought that maybe today they might loosen up for the celebrations. This wasn't to be. They whinged, ignored the wave, and left at the final whistle.

Either way, the celebrations were reasonably enjoyable and i'm very proud to be a fan of Leicester City Football Club.

This. Was a tad disappointed. Felt the lap was done a little too quickly and too many non-players waving to the crowd (why???). Though Gradel was class though and I was thoroughly amused by the kid not to far from me who came to the game dressed as Maxi.

Thought it was a decent game, they looked sharper than us but we held in to claim a point.

Good to see Morrison get a couple, Gradel played well too, but the main part of the night was the trophy lifting and I was so glad to be there.

My nephew was far more interested in the balloons/streamers etc. flying about than the football :D Then again, being 4 he was always more likely to be. He did break into his 'Super Stevie Howard' chant though in the second half :scarf:

Was the Tunch out by any chance?

It may just be me, but i thought he was another player who on the lap of honour looked a little distant from the other players.

Hope he was out on the lash and savouring the moment.
