Matt Posted 25 April 2009 Posted 25 April 2009 I look at it this way, 10,000 extra fans last night at an avrage of £20 a ticket. That's £200k. If Hobbs did cost us £400k then that half his fee paid. The PA bloke said when announcing the Hobbs signing it was credit to the people who already paid for ST's already. I'm sure that was just abit of bum-licking, and to make asking for money for new ST's so early look worthwhile.
WardyisPukka Posted 25 April 2009 Posted 25 April 2009 well i dont care if the stadium is full or half full , what takes the piss is , me going to the toilet last night and overhearing two guys not knowing half the team , they were discussing like whos that morrison??is he from liverpool?? , whos the captain again?? , its just a bit like for f*** sakes at least know who the players are ?
General Smuts Posted 25 April 2009 Posted 25 April 2009 We've not been shit all season - Where were you when we were good?
Bluefoxtim Posted 25 April 2009 Posted 25 April 2009 After the couple of 'tards in Sainsbury's, heard another idiot on the bus on the way to the game. "I won't stick around at the final whistle, get out and get home. I can just watch the trophy presentation on Midlands Today." GRRRRRRRR
Tommeh Posted 25 April 2009 Posted 25 April 2009 Don't really want to pass comment on the part timers songs as It's ok for me to get on my high horse after this season but come next, maybe they'll attend more than me. Although the anti Tigers chants were class. "fook off, back to welford Road" "One team in leicester" "Shove your fooking Rugby up your arse" etc.

Matt Posted 25 April 2009 Posted 25 April 2009 Right so we've had a debate on lesson one, What's lesson two?

Nod.E Posted 25 April 2009 Posted 25 April 2009 Anti-Tigers chants are NOT class. They just make us seem sad, jealous and bitter. And? They're accurate.
Tommeh Posted 25 April 2009 Posted 25 April 2009 Anti-Tigers chants are NOT class. They just make us seem sad, jealous and bitter. Yeaaaaaah, these chants were coming from the chavved up, foul mouthed wankers in L1 who violate health and safety every game by standing and singing, so MAYBE you have a point. I'm not sad, jealous or bitter about one aspect of the dark green ******, and the fact we kicked off 7:45 on a friday night to accomodate them made the chants quite well timed.
Alexikokopops Posted 25 April 2009 Posted 25 April 2009 Those songs were an embarrassment, instigated and sang by a large number of nuckledraggers who are never normally in L1 and joined in with by fuknut children with a blinding future in claiming benefits. For me, it turned the second half into a damp 45 minutes as I waited for it to come again. At parts last night, and this season, L1 has been the best place in the ground to be - we stand and sing, we support our side. Then there's the times we suddenly see new faces, people who don't have STs there: they flood in with their machismo to flick the V's and make throat cutting motions, to chant nationalist wank. "Don't these people know it was St.Georges Day this week?" quoth one retard, "Why aren't people fekking joining in? Noooo surrender...." he continued. That encapsulates how amazingly stupid these tools are. Look at who thinks the songs were funny - Shingler and Poakey: Add all their posts together and you'll still not find enough words spelled correctly to form one coherent sentence. Maybe when they begin having sex with willing partners instead of stuffed toys and microwaved liver in a jar they'll grow up a bit. My lowest points of the season is down to arseholes like these. I'm not staying in the same place, I can shout at them when I'm on my own but I'm not going to do it in front of the lad when he starts coming...maybe we'll go bug Raj instead. Exactly. I don't understand why people are complaining about "where were you when you were shit" when these songs were a billion times more embarassing. The fact that it wasn't just a minority singing them was the thing that got me. Shambles. I'm willing to bet at least half of those singing moan that we "don't celebrate our Saint's Day like other countries" when it's exactly the kind of xenophobic attitude that thinks the way to celebrate being English is to sing about the IRA which puts people off having a good old fashioned ho down. Grrr. I don't care if that sentance is poorly written, I'm going to fume.

Joe. Posted 25 April 2009 Posted 25 April 2009 This, especially when you consider 30 odd thousand people and a championship trophy celebration had to be moved for 18 thousand today Hardly affected proceedings though did it?
Ultra Posted 25 April 2009 Posted 25 April 2009 [Horror! After a mere 7 years, I have discovered that block L1 of the East Stand attracts some unpleasant, socially and intellectually inadequate individuals.]
BlueSi13 Posted 25 April 2009 Posted 25 April 2009 Hardly affected proceedings though did it? No but this is a football city, always has been and always will be, it shouldn't be us thats having to move to accommodate them! ahh well, least when there back from whenst they came we'll never hear from them again
Ultra Posted 25 April 2009 Posted 25 April 2009 Why do some posters on here have such serious issues about a Leicester team (albeit one in another sport) being so successful?
Guest Posted 25 April 2009 Posted 25 April 2009 Why do some posters on here have such serious issues about a Leicester team (albeit one in another sport) being so successful? It might be something to do with the way that some of the supporters of that other team treat and refer to City and its fans with utter contempt.
BlueSi13 Posted 25 April 2009 Posted 25 April 2009 Why do some posters on here have such serious issues about a Leicester team (albeit one in another sport) being so successful? Meh i don't have a problem with the Tigers, i wouldn't have a clue if they or successful or not as i don't follow them, i just have a problem with the people who supposedly follow the sport and how they look down upon the "peasants" who love their "wendyball", i meet them all the time at uni, they haven't a clue about the game but just say they do just to attain some form of fooking social status! I went to a Tigers game once and all you'd hear around you was "ooo you don't see that in football", "ooo this is a mans game, unlike football", "ooo these players aren't puffs like footballers"..always beginning a sentence with ooo! I just realised how pathetic they are, desperately trying to justify themselves being at Welford Road rather than the Walkers, must be pretty cold being in our shadow! I just found their jealously and bitterness that the city still couldn't give a shit about their game despite the fact we are in the third tier of english football, and the fact that nationally rugby doesn't even register on peoples radar! i also no a couple of uni mates who were pretty embarrassed by how few they got today attendance wise! but still they'll give it the "footballs for girls" bollocks! the snobbery gets to me! if some of you think the city part-timers are bad, speak to a an average rugby "fan" and their lack of knowledge will rock your world!! Rugby = public school ponce game for fat people to play, end of story for me

Just respond with "I don't know about you but I don't watch sport for all the tough men in shorts"
BlueSi13 Posted 25 April 2009 Posted 25 April 2009 Just respond with "I don't know about you but I don't watch sport for all the tough men in shorts" Mate your right, the scrum is just an excuse for one big gay fook i reckon, no wonder everyones so bloody quiet when they are watching it, there all tossing off!
willchafer Posted 25 April 2009 Posted 25 April 2009 tbh i think what happened was partly the fact that people travel to matches like these for instance i live in worcester and only go to a few games a season cuz of the distance, ive been to 8 games this season and me and my dad said we will ahve to go to that match. dunno if its true but maybe...? getting a season ticket next season so i will be there when we are shit!
iancognito Posted 25 April 2009 Posted 25 April 2009 No but this is a football city, always has been and always will be, it shouldn't be us thats having to move to accommodate them! As someone who has to put up with his other half's family being rabid Tigers fans I can honestly say that's rubbish. There's always been a split across the county between the two sports and there are some who will go to both grounds when possible. A bloke I sat next to in the old west stand for about 4 years had a season ticket for both clubs. He went to every city home game but when we were away he went to see the Tigers. My father in law grew up supporting city on the kop but now spends all his time following the Tigers because he hates "how football has gone". He still keeps up to date with City's results, players etc but he won't ever go near the Walkers because it's nothing like the football he grew up watching. Go to a few outlying pubs on a weekend and they're filled with Tigers shirts and people who wouldn't dream of going to the football, go to a the Rushes, Shakespears, Crows Nest wherever and they'll be full of Blue shirts. It's how it is, how it's always been. I personally would NEVER go to Welford Road, don't understand the game fully and really am not bothered if their fans look down on us. But really, they're a team from Leicester who are successful, so more power to them. We made a pretty penny out of loaning them the ground, they are in our debt and we got a night of celebration. It was always going to happen that the 'missing 10000' turned up out of the woodwork - God knows, I've only made the night games this season myself, the same as it will be next season - but we'd have all been more surprised if it had been an attendance of 22000 and the team showed the trophy off to a sparsely populated ground.

Good job "footy" doesn't attract such types, eh?.. I just realised how pathetic they are, desperately trying to justify themselves being at Welford Road rather than the Walkers, must be pretty cold being in our shadow! It's a while since I saw someone as deluded as this. Their trophy count presents them with the justification they need. But at least they don't come out with monkey noises or "no surrender" chants. Rugby = public school ponce game for fat people to play, end of story for me Wow - I didn't know you were Gene Hunt in disguise. I have news for you. Kajagoogoo are NOT the future of rock 'n' roll.. Seriously, though, it was good to see the Kop applauding Martin Johnson (who attended a comprehensive in Leicestershire by the way) and Rendall Munroe at half-time last night. At least one section of our fanbase has the class to recognise people of achievement when they see them.
