Koke Posted 9 May 2009 Posted 9 May 2009 Can they do it? Their last 2 games are Liverpool [home] and Blackburn [away]. I'm actually hoping they do the impossible.
dandannieldanok Posted 9 May 2009 Posted 9 May 2009 Hope they do but they won't. They need two wins and I can't see them even drawing against Liverpool.
Edmund Posted 9 May 2009 Posted 9 May 2009 Brilliant come back from West brom, shame it's so late. Would rather see them stay up than Hull. At least they play some good football. Brilliant end to the league.
Hitesh Posted 9 May 2009 Posted 9 May 2009 Not gonna happen as much as I would love to see it happen just to see the pundits eat their words! But as I said, it ain't gonna happen!
DJ Barry Hammond Posted 9 May 2009 Posted 9 May 2009 Could depend on what Manchester United do inbetween the lead up to thir game against Liverpool - if the Championship is still in the balance no chance, but against a 2nd string pool who knows???
Flynny Posted 9 May 2009 Posted 9 May 2009 If Newcastle and Middlesborough draw they can stay up with 4 points. Draw and a win. Possible, but unlikely.
TrickyTrev Posted 9 May 2009 Posted 9 May 2009 Hope they do but they won't. They need two wins and I can't see them even drawing against Liverpool. Well if 'Boro and Newcastle draw tomorrow then I reckon any team that gets 35 points will stay up. Then they would only need a win and a draw. If Liverpool are still in the hunt for the title then it isn't going to happen. I'd give them a less than 5% chance of staying up.
purpleronnie Posted 9 May 2009 Posted 9 May 2009 Dont like em so I hope not, cant see it. Amazed stoke have stayed up.
dandannieldanok Posted 9 May 2009 Posted 9 May 2009 Just goes to show how shit the teams directly above West Brom are that they can still be considered as contenders to stay up.
Ultra Posted 10 May 2009 Posted 10 May 2009 Their goal difference is so p!sspoor, they'll need to win the last two matches to stay up. It will be an incredible achievement if they do. Liverpool have only lost TWO league games all season and Big Sam has made Blackburn a force at Ewood Park.
Ultra Posted 10 May 2009 Posted 10 May 2009 Newcastle and Villa will finish Boro off. I predict Hull, Boro and the Baggies will take the drop.
Corky Posted 10 May 2009 Posted 10 May 2009 If they weren't playing Liverpool, I feel they'd have a chance. But Liverpool look like dropping no points at the moment, and are banging in goals for fun. Middlesbrough will go, and I think Newcastle will win their two home games to survive. Hull will drop.
purpleronnie Posted 10 May 2009 Posted 10 May 2009 Newcastle and Villa will finish Boro off.I predict Hull, Boro and the Baggies will take the drop. yep.
MarkDeVries Posted 10 May 2009 Posted 10 May 2009 Everyone knows Newcastle will stay up with Hull flying down the table. But I would love it if Newcastle went down
Granno Posted 10 May 2009 Posted 10 May 2009 Newcastle look like they will beat the drop, with super Hull coming down. What an epic fail from Hull.
Koke Posted 16 May 2009 Author Posted 16 May 2009 A win tomorrow and they could actually stay up. Liverpool may go into this game with a meh attitude, so who knows - And Blackburn away on the last day. Blackburn are hardly a powerhouse. Believe.
MC Prussian Posted 16 May 2009 Posted 16 May 2009 Hmmm... It would take a miracle for West Brom to stay up. If they fudge it up against Liverpool, they're coming down to join us in the Championship. Yes, they're a nice team but if you can't perform properly up there, you don't belong to the Premier League. Simple as. Stoke have a better defensive record and can also count on their defenders to score occasionally. The Baggies just don't have that particular depth.
flanimal Posted 16 May 2009 Posted 16 May 2009 Baggies are down. 90% guaranteed, though if knowitall is anything to go by, that isn't very certain at all! (I love you knowitall!)
Basingstoke Fox Posted 17 May 2009 Posted 17 May 2009 Baggies are down. 90% guaranteed, though if knowitall is anything to go by, that isn't very certain at all! (I love you knowitall!) I think he knows I think if they win today they will stay up, although Liverpool have been awesome lately and they have no reason to rest any players so Liverpool will probably win.
Koke Posted 17 May 2009 Author Posted 17 May 2009 I really hope they do it. If they somehow stay up it will be the comeback of all comebacks.
