JoeyB Posted 25 May 2009 Posted 25 May 2009 And the most important date of the summer needs to be etched in your mind, for on Wednesday 17th June at 10am you'll find out the fixtures for the new campaign. When the fixtures are released apparently, before people start asking!

Dan Posted 25 May 2009 Posted 25 May 2009 fook sake I won't be up I'm glad theres no exams on this day, are they announced live on sky cos i've never actually seen it done. I was chuffed to bits when we got MK Dons first game last season.
maddog Posted 25 May 2009 Posted 25 May 2009 A local derby home or away or Newcastle home or away would be sweet. Blackpool at home would be alright to boo Ollie a bit Please not: Plymouth Barnsley Doncaster Sheff Wed QPR Bristol City Ipswich Swansea Cardiff Preston Sheff Utd S****horpe But we will be playing each team twice anyway Don't fancy any of those 12 sides in the first game, just don't think that will excite me that much. Based on the fact relegated sides normally play promoted sides in the first game of the season, just like us playing Mk Dons last season, i'm hoping for Newcastle or Boro or Brom at home. Can't believe i'm moaning about who i want first game of the season, who gives a fook i'm well excited we are back in the Championship
Ultra Posted 25 May 2009 Posted 25 May 2009 Blackpool at home would revive bad memories from last season - especially with Holloway as the visiting manager.

iancognito Posted 26 May 2009 Posted 26 May 2009 I'm not really bothered who comes out of "the hat" first as long as it's not anyone local. It'd be nice to get Newcastle or one of the bigger clubs and get that out of the way but Derby away on Boxing Day (closest trip) and Forest at home on the final day (to put a nail into their coffin) would do just fine.
Ultra Posted 26 May 2009 Posted 26 May 2009 Clubs don't like having derbies on Boxing Day as Christmas crowds tend to be bigger anyway.

Do they draw it out of a hat live? Cos i've never seen it done i've always been at school.
carterfox90 Posted 26 May 2009 Posted 26 May 2009 BE NICE TO FINISH THE SEASON WITH A HOME GAME FOR A CHANGE WE ARE USUALLY ALWAYS AWAY FOR THE LAST GAME
Dan Posted 26 May 2009 Posted 26 May 2009 BE NICE TO FINISH THE SEASON WITH A HOME GAME FOR A CHANGE WE ARE USUALLY ALWAYS AWAY FOR THE LAST GAME The last time we finished with a home game we were stuffed 4-1. Also playing at home first game is OK.

I am sure boxing day fixtures are (where possible) are taken inturns, last season we played away so this coming season we should be at home. Do they draw it out of a hat live? Cos i've never seen it done i've always been at school. Nah they are put into a computer, and pre-determinded from there, though there are a number of situations that are avoided i.e both sheffield clubs playing on the same day, policing, other sporting fixtures in the same city city/tigers etc
Guest Mickyblueeyes Posted 26 May 2009 Posted 26 May 2009 I'd like as many "easy" teams in the first few games as possible. We have a youngish squad and a decent start could be paramount in helping those lads settle in to life in the championship. Barnsley H Plymouth A Cov H Blackpool A Thats a start against teams we need to beat if at the very least we stay up this year.
Bert Posted 26 May 2009 Posted 26 May 2009 We're going to have a few games moved to either a Friday or a Sunday next season. We're not allowed to play at home the same day as the Tigers.
StanSP Posted 26 May 2009 Posted 26 May 2009 We're going to have a few games moved to either a Friday or a Sunday next season. We're not allowed to play at home the same day as the Tigers. Plus BBC will want one or two matches.
Leicester Rule! Posted 26 May 2009 Posted 26 May 2009 How many Tuesday Night games will we get this year?
CosbehFox Posted 26 May 2009 Posted 26 May 2009 Plus BBC will want one or two matches. They only have rights to ten games.
Ultra Posted 26 May 2009 Posted 26 May 2009 How many Tuesday Night games will we get this year? Quite a few. Bear in mind also that the season will finish earlier than usual next year because of the World Cup.
Head Honcho Posted 26 May 2009 Posted 26 May 2009 Boardmasters in Newquay or first match of the season
syston_fox Posted 26 May 2009 Posted 26 May 2009 We're going to have a few games moved to either a Friday or a Sunday next season. We're not allowed to play at home the same day as the Tigers. I think it's safe to say that Plymouth and Newcastle away will be two of those games that end up being moved. Sods law.
