He's appears a fair bit in David Simon's follow up series Treme as a street musician. You may have seen it but if not it's a must for all music fans.

Yeah I'm a fully paid up member of David Simon's fanclub. Treme was brilliant, absolutely loved that series.

'Train a Coming' contains his best songwriting imo. Also get hold of El Corazon and Transcendental Blues.

Scott-Heron singing a Robert Johnson, this whole album is another mood. I'm New Here is a stone classic. 

 

 

 

It reminds me of the Marc Singer documentary Dark Days which DJ Shadow did the music for.
