maddog Posted 30 May 2009 Posted 30 May 2009 Interesting odds list. But who will win Leeds scum are favourites followed by, Norwich, Charlton, Mk Dons, Brighton , then Millwall. Southampton have to be worth a bet at 20/1. I've narrowed it down to these 12 sides, although a few of them don't stand a chance IMO. So fooking glad we're not in there, looks so boring and weak with sides like Exeter, Wycombe, Brentford, Gillingham in it Personally i think Mk Dons will win
StanSP Posted 30 May 2009 Posted 30 May 2009 Why so early?! I bet as soon as the fixtures come out there will be your trademark optometer things . Early or not, I think Leeds or Norwich.
Legend_in_blue Posted 30 May 2009 Posted 30 May 2009 Maddog loves his polls! You missed the mighty Gillingham off your list though... I'm not bothered who wins it but I'd fancy Norwich for some reason. Don't know why. Just fancy it tbh.
Father Ted Posted 30 May 2009 Posted 30 May 2009 I reckon Charlton. Especially if they can hang on to Shelvey and Bailey. A nice stadium and large-ish fan base. They have more quality IMO than Norwich and Southampton even though they had such a bad season. I also believe that Tranmere will be the surprise package next year.
Corky Posted 30 May 2009 Posted 30 May 2009 Depends how Leeds recover from another play-off defeat. The Dons will be up there, along with Charlton. Out of those three for me.
Fosse Boy Posted 30 May 2009 Posted 30 May 2009 As long as it's not MK ******, I'm not all that bothered. Would like to see Hudders and Col U do well though...
The Doctor Posted 30 May 2009 Posted 30 May 2009 Depends how Leeds recover from another play-off defeat. The Dons will be up there, along with Charlton. Out of those three for me. hopefully as well as the last but one where they got relegated the following season. I'd love to see that mighty club playing the likes of burton albion and accrington stanley
Corky Posted 30 May 2009 Posted 30 May 2009 You know who im gonna say Really? You think Millwall will go up?
Lamby Posted 30 May 2009 Posted 30 May 2009 Really? You think Millwall will go up? Nah, they are going down. First round of the FA Cup aswell Means we can play shit sides and actually win
JoeyB Posted 30 May 2009 Posted 30 May 2009 Nah, they are going down.First round of the FA Cup aswell Means we can play shit sides and still loose
Asha Posted 30 May 2009 Posted 30 May 2009 More like it You'll love the Johnstone's Paint Trophy. And Leeds, for me.
Guest Bilo Posted 31 May 2009 Posted 31 May 2009 Looking at this league, I'm glad we got out of it at the first attempt because this is going to be one tough division. Once again, Leeds have been made short priced favourites with the bookies, but the near certain loss of Beckford and possibly Delph could hit them hard. Without wanting to sound WACCOE, the smaller teams will raise their game when playing them and 14 losses last season suggests they struggle under that pressure. Papa Smurf doesn't seem willing to throw a great deal of money at them either to improve the situation. Under those circumstances, the 4/1 offered by some bookies looks tighter than a virgin's chuff. The three relegated teams may be able to adjust, Charlton looking the better candidates of the three with their young side. Southampton could surprise a few if they find a buyer who's willing to back them financially, but the 10 point deduction will probably rule out an automatic promotion bid. For me though, the teams already down there probably represent the best bet. Leeds, for all their failings, looked far better under Grayson than McAllister and should make the play-offs at the very least. MK Dons play decent football and have a chairman willing to fund any promotion bid, and ditto Huddersfield. Millwall are another team likely to be up there, but need to cut out the occasional shockers which saw them lose 4-0 at home to promotion rivals MK Dons if they want to go up automatically. A tough league to play in, a tough one to call but I'm going for; 1. MK Dons 2. Leeds PLAY-OFFS. Huddersfield
leicesterseddon Posted 31 May 2009 Posted 31 May 2009 Would love it if Oldham and 'Uddersfield came up But think Leeds/Norwich and MK ****** will contest it...
Granno Posted 31 May 2009 Posted 31 May 2009 Norwich and Leeds for me. Southampton look like they're gonna be fooked.
DJ Barry Hammond Posted 31 May 2009 Posted 31 May 2009 Nah, they are going down.First round of the FA Cup aswell Means we can play shit sides and actually win Why do I get the sense you may regret this comment immediately after the first round has been played?
