Munzie Posted 2 June 2009 Posted 2 June 2009 Time to move on. Was always the best of a bad bunch over the past few seasons in the Championship. He'll make a go of it in another Championship/League 1 side no doubt. It's good to see the OS keeping up with our departures. Not even a note of thanks for Skip or Hendo or anyone else. Is the website team on their holidays with the players? Come to think of it, Knowitall hasn't posted on here since the start of the break. Hmm, I wonder if he is a player or on the coaching staff? God I'm bored.
Manwell Pablo Posted 2 June 2009 Posted 2 June 2009 Kisnorbo was made to look better than he was by the shower of shit around him. As soon as the team became a winning one, people realised he wasn't so great after all. Nice to see he cares for the club, and was by no means as poor as most of the players in his four years here, but time to move on for both parties. Crap, the team became a winning one because the level we were competing at dropped considerable not because we're massively better than we were last season. Kisnorbo is a proven decent Championshop centre half who attracted Premeirship interest at one point and I'm glad Pearson has the faith in Jack Hobbs to perform at a higher level but I'm not convinced that if (big if) Kisnorbo is able to get back to full fitness that he is a better player.

Maybe Pearson should resign then? Its not that easy getting out of league 1.
Manwell Pablo Posted 2 June 2009 Posted 2 June 2009 Maybe Pearson should resign then? Its not that easy getting out of league 1. That's just a bit a silly over statement isn't it really. With the squad he had I wouldn't exactly claim it was overly difficult either. Don't get me wrong he's done a good job thus far, but lets face it had he not got us up we'd of all wanted him out so getting us up was basically the bare minimum he needed to do to keep his job and the test is next season.
RowlattsFox Posted 2 June 2009 Posted 2 June 2009 Our situation in the Championship was perfect for Kisnorbos style, he likes the last ditch challenges and winning things in the air and is very good at that, the difference in League 1 was that we were more often or not the better side and we had a lot more of the ball and as we all know that is not his strength. He also struggled due to lack of fitness. I wish him all the best, always gave 100% and shown a lot of respect to the fans, even though he recieved a lot of stick.
potter3 Posted 2 June 2009 Posted 2 June 2009 One of my favourite players of the last few years, not that it says much. Probably alone in this but I think he's better than Hobbs, or rather, he's been proven at a higher level. Hobbs has age on his side though, also lower wages probably. And less injury prone.
Sods Posted 2 June 2009 Posted 2 June 2009 Seriously the guy isn't good enough its that simple, Hobbs, Brown, Tunchev are all better. Morrison will only get better, towards the end of the season Morrison was great. This would make Kisnorbo 5th choice centre back, wasn't impressed when Kisnorbo played either, yeah thanks for your commitment but its time to move on.

League 1 is not as bigger gap away from the Championship as some may think. On their day, many of the teams that we came up against this year could put in a decent display against most in the divsion above. We became a winning team through the right leadership, belief and personnel. Kisnorbo was a decent centre back. His last gasp tackles got us out of numerous holes, and popping up with the occasional goal helped us also. The team however has changed. The dynamics of how we play have also changed. We don't need someone who's distrubution of the ball is poor (Kisnorbo's achillies heel) or his inability to read a game. He also recieved far too many bookings and sendings off (recinded or not). Although a while ago, Tunchev gave our back four solidity, more so than I've seen in a long time. With him alongside an emerging talent like Hobbs or Morrison, we may well have one of the most envied defences in the league. All are capable of Kisnorbo like tackles and the odd goal or two. Albeit recovering from injury, Kisnorbo's cameo appearences earlier this year were far from impressive. As Pearson has stated, he has a plan and Kisnorbo doesn't feature. Time to go.
FleckneyFox Posted 2 June 2009 Posted 2 June 2009 Does anyone care what Lance Tomlyn and Cliff Ginnetta think? I dont want to read their opinions in the Mercury. They have no more insight on the club as the rest of us so far as im aware. Anyway I appreciate Kisnorbo not wanting to leave, but he wasn't good enough for the first team next season and we have enough numbers at centre half. He was a decent player in a bad bunch for us over the last few years and I hope he finds a decent club and does well.

No way that Brown is better than Kisnorbo - sorry but I ain't having that. Even Morrison is debatable. I've never been convinced by him. If Kisnorbo had stayed I would have him 3rd in the pecking order behind Hobbs and Tunch. Kisnorbo is a solid Championship player, nothing more nothing less. He served us well and always gave his all, and for that I will always be grateful. I wish him well.
ousefox Posted 2 June 2009 Posted 2 June 2009 Good servant to the club over the past few years and one of the few good players we had in the championship season we were relegated.

Webbo Posted 2 June 2009 Posted 2 June 2009 If he hadn't have got injured at the end of last season he would have been off. He wouldn't have shown us any loyalty I don't see why we owe him any.
MarkDeVries Posted 2 June 2009 Posted 2 June 2009 Thought he was a very good player for us The best of a bad bunch when we went down and most Leicester fans respect him for what he has done over tha past 4 years. Good luck Paddy.

How do you know that? An absolutely absurd statement. Overall, our best player in terms of consistency between 2006 and 2008. Not good times, but he was the best
StanSP Posted 2 June 2009 Posted 2 June 2009 How do you know that? An absolutely absurd statement. Exactly what I was going to say.

Do you think he would have stayed to play in league 1 if he'd of had an offer of more money elsewhere?

Webbo Posted 2 June 2009 Posted 2 June 2009 Mattock had Premiership interest and he stayed Was that because he was loyal or because an offer never materialised?
StanSP Posted 2 June 2009 Posted 2 June 2009 Was that because he was loyal or because an offer never materialised? Shhh!
Red Leicester Posted 2 June 2009 Posted 2 June 2009 Fully fit I'd say only Tunchev is obviously better than him. Will be interesting to see how Jack Hobbs performs in the Championship. People forget that despite getting relegated our defense had the record of a top half team we just couldn't put the ball in the net. Kisnorbo was the main reason for this. Only thing that makes me back this descion is the question over his knees, he had problems with them at Hearts as well as he gets older they might start to go more. Absolutely. Throughout the darkest hours I have known as a City fan, Kisnorbo was one of our best players. He hoofs but then he also appeared at set-pieces - I'm genuinely surprised we didn't extend his contract and I'm putting it down to 'knees' too.
Bert Posted 2 June 2009 Posted 2 June 2009 I certainly think Kisnorbo's better than Brown. But, that's just my opinion, and sir Nige knows a lot more than me. I've always liked Kisnorbo, simply because in every single game, he gave everything that he could. In no way was he perfect at distributing the ball and when he was playing in midfield he didn't look very good at all , but he still tried his utmost, and would never shy away, or shirk a challenge and he'd always get well stuck in, chipping in with a few goals at times. I'll always say if he was on the pitch for the full game against Wednesday, we'd have stayed up. Massively respects the fans, that's for sure. He's gonna score against us next season if he's at a Championship club, that's pretty much nailed on. I'll certainly be clapping him next season when he returns though. Good luck in your career Paddy.
Joe. Posted 2 June 2009 Posted 2 June 2009 He's been a very good player for us, but I think it was the right time for him to go. He's fifth choice centre back for me now, which is only a testament to the players we've got at the club. He'll certainly get a round of applause from me on his inevitable return after some Championship club snaps him up. They'll be getting a decent player for it, and I wish him luck.
morris1234 Posted 2 June 2009 Posted 2 June 2009 well i think he IS a legend, hes been with us through it all over the last few years and has consistantly performed well in his defensive duties and has scored some important goals aswell! not only did he want to stay at the club but he showed love towards the club and i like that. just think though, he knows there have been other teams interested in him, there always was simply because hes a great player, but unlike others he didnt jump ship when things got bad he stayed and fought and i think thats admirable. bye kissa!!! and good luck!
