Jon25747 Posted 3 June 2009 Posted 3 June 2009 I met Weso on a night out with stearman on monday and I got chatting to them, Weso said he actually wanted to stay but he felt he wasnt wanted. He also said that Dundee wanted him and that he would probably end up there. I know this info is not exactly ground breaking stuff but I couldn't find any topic with regards to his future. Good luck to him wherever he goes. A player with potential which could never be fully reached.

flanimal Posted 3 June 2009 Posted 3 June 2009 Seen him in Mcdonalds the other day Part of his new training regime, probably.
StanSP Posted 3 June 2009 Posted 3 June 2009 When he plays, he's actually alright. Dogged and tenacious defensive midfielder but way too injury prone.
flanimal Posted 3 June 2009 Posted 3 June 2009 He never impressed me. I always thought he was kind of crap.
Matt Posted 3 June 2009 Posted 3 June 2009 I like him, Loads of potential but he's just too injury prone, I feel any more injuries and he really should consider retiring (Certainly should it be another break - Hopefully not though), I'd say if we got a reasonable bid from Dundee, Sell, Sell, Sell. Good luck to him though wherever he ends up, and if he stays hopefully his injuries can be put behind him now.
Matt Posted 3 June 2009 Posted 3 June 2009 What would you consider a reasonable bid? Don't really know tbh, Let/Hopefully Dundee will make an offer and name a price and we'll see if it's reasonable. Mind you I can't accept or reject the offers anyway so it doesn't really matter
ha77y Posted 3 June 2009 Posted 3 June 2009 I thought he was a great player until a celtic player broke his leg in a friendly
dandannieldanok Posted 3 June 2009 Posted 3 June 2009 You couldn't fault his work rate and tenacity, which always endears me to a player, but does really possess much quality with the ball at his feet? For me, his limited range of passing would get found out at top Championship level and therefore there isn't much point in keeping him. If he wasn't injury prone then I'd say keep him and play him alongside a playmaker and see if we could find a balance in the midfield. Good luck to him whatever happens.
Carlos9 Posted 3 June 2009 Posted 3 June 2009 I thought he was a great player until a celtic player broke his leg in a friendly Bobo Balde! the Cu*t!.. I think Wesolowski would be good for us this season if we could rely on him not getting injured, His work rate is excellent and he isn't shy of a tackle. Fills the hole in front of the defenders better than most in the championship! Hes only young, so we should get quite a bit.

If it is anymore than a nominal undisclosed fee I would be mightly suprised. It is Dundee United and not Barcelona that want him. Honest and always gives 100%. No real quality and is always injured so no point in keeping him.
foxoffderby Posted 3 June 2009 Posted 3 June 2009 were they in avery? I met Stearman and Darren Kenton in there last year. Nice guys had drink with them, they loved the attention from the birds...never rated weso not fussed.
Legend_in_blue Posted 3 June 2009 Posted 3 June 2009 If you meet him again, tell him to come to Charlton  I'd rather we had Matt Holland! Can we do some sort of swap deal?
dandannieldanok Posted 3 June 2009 Posted 3 June 2009  I'd rather we had Matt Holland! Can we do some sort of swap deal? What?!?! You'd rather have a 35 year old Matt Holland over Wesolowski?
Legend_in_blue Posted 3 June 2009 Posted 3 June 2009 What?!?! You'd rather have a 35 year old Matt Holland over Wesolowski? Yes. Definately. I don't rate him.
flanimal Posted 3 June 2009 Posted 3 June 2009 Yeah, but taking into account Weslowski's injuries, he's virtually got the legs of a 35-year-old. <_<
Legend_in_blue Posted 3 June 2009 Posted 3 June 2009 Yeah, but taking into account Weslowski's injuries, he's virtually got the legs of a 35-year-old. <_< Even without the unfortunate injuries he's had, I still don't think he'd be good enough for championship football.
Stueyt74 Posted 3 June 2009 Posted 3 June 2009 I always rated him, just the sort of player we need to compliment Oakley and King. Loved it when he scored that scorcher against Fulham in the cup. Ah well, if he is going, good luck to the lad.
Sly Posted 3 June 2009 Posted 3 June 2009 We've never seen enough of him as a match fit player to really judge him. Thracian and other board members would give you a better opinion as he's not really seen a lot of first team football. Personally I always though he'd do okay playing in front of the back four, simply to do the job of win ball & then a simple 4 yard pass. Every team needs this type of player and the role of such is very under estimated. We currently don't have such a player in our squad, so for me, a fit fir Wesolowski is a keep. He's been unfortunate on the injuries side he was highly rated as a youngster and you don't become a bad player over night. He needs confidence in the role he plays and breaking bones will only dent this. He needed game time and that's why he went to Dundee i'd imagine as we have no reserve team. I'm pretty sure Craig would like to sign him as I think the lad has some potenital from what very little we've seen of him.
Finnegan Posted 3 June 2009 Posted 3 June 2009 Wes is just one of those players it's immensely easy to love. Chirpy, determined, energetic and hard working. Every game I saw him play he looked like he really just loved being on the pitch. Really is a shame to see injuries all but basically ruin his career here.
