Doesn't the fixture list do that before the season starts anyway?

Theres still 8 weeks until the game, so time enough to alter things.

Worst case scenario you can't change your plans but still get to see the game anyway.

I just think some people on here are blindingly one sided when a kick off time is changed due to Sky, when there are many other true blue Leicester fans who may be desperate to see LCFC either at a game or on TV who can now see it. When before they wouldn't.

But i hope everyone can get everything sorted anyway, i'm certainly not siding against you, and don't deserve the insults i knew id get, but i said it anyway :P

I'm sorry, but when it comes to away games an kick off times moving, I don't give a flying **** aout the west stand prawn sandwich 'we only went to Peterborough and MK Dons away last season' brigade.

I don't care that 'thousands of other STH can watch the game' and I am sorry if that offends some, but I am gonna be selfish for a minute here, because at the end of the day, all I care about is how I am gonna see the game.

Fact is, as I stated, the move has fooked up royally for me that weekend, and my plans. I desperatly need to hope that my uni timetable isnt interfering with the time needed to lave and get there, and if it does, I will have to rearrange everything, and THEN 4 fooking days later i've gotta hope for the same when we're on telly against QPR. I am also gonna miss the uni badminton, something which I throughly enjoy, and i'll be back nice and late, so if I have an early start the next day then thats fooked up.

Tuesday night away games I can legislate and plan for, fooking Sky Sports monday night shit I can't, cos I didn't see it coming.

In those instances, my anger, and my frustration is totally justified, I don't care whether it's right of wrong, it had affected me, and I am sure others who were intending to go will have similar upsets and stories about how it has messed their time about.

I am interested in Sports Media, so usually I would defend Sky because its 'money making' etc shit and crap, but fact is, moving games to a Monday night is ****ing ridiculous, especially when its a 100+ mile trip. If they are going to do Monday night games, do them on a REGIONAL basis, so for example we can only play a team live on tv from the midlands.

But the best idea would be to scrap putting on a games which, frankly, will be lucky to get half a million viewers, because if (and i'm sure there is) if there is a Premier League game on ESPN at the same time, I wonder what people are gonna watch?

Sky can go and do a running jump for all I care. If it wasn't for Alan ****ing Sugar they wouldn't have ever won that first Premier league contract, and they'd have gone bust.

woo *rant over*

:D

It isn't that bad a night out to be honest.

I was there a couple of weeks ago and was having a nice pub crawl until my wife spotted a Reflex bar :( and I had to spend the rest of the night wearing an affro :huh:

lol

I lived there for 4 years and spent many a night at The Purple Turtle - bit grimey but decent atmosphere and crowd (if you like loads of students off their heads that is).

Good luck!

Sorry but you are talking total and utter bollocks I am not going to even argue with you.

What about the people who haven't got Sky? I can just accept fixtures being moved to a later time or a Sunday but to have three away games moved to weekday nights, it's frankly a crock of shite.

Go round friends/relatives and watch it, go pub.

I'm not arguing with anyone, it's everyone arguing with me. I'm not trying to argue with anyone.

I'm just saying thats all.

I 100% agree with all of that!

Especially agree with the bit in bold. If I don't end up getting to go to Reading now then yeah I know I can watch it on tv, but like said above it's not the same!

It's only 45 minutes by train to Reading from Bristol and there is a return train at 2321.

Currently It's £20 return for an adult from Newport so it'll be cheaper from Bristol.

If you make a posts which disagrees with the views of the majority then you're starting an argument, so yes you are.

I really hate seeing Leicester on TV most of the time because I want to be there, not sat at home/in the bar/outside Dixon's windows. In terms of what you get out of it, the two experiences are just not on the same scale.

Maddog isn't being particularly ridiculous, the abuse is a bit much. I have the absolute utmost respect for people who drag themselves up and down the country to watch Leicester but not when it turns to narcissism on their part. If it puts out 200 people who'd have gone to see it live but an extra 10,000 get to see it on the telly it's astonishingly arrogant for the people put out to claim that they're more valuable fans and should be accommodated first, even if it's true to an extent.

And you can't say it's not about it being on telly it's just about the days being moved, because one wouldn't happen without the other. We're not a big enough draw (unlike Newcastle, obviously).

Anyway I'm happy as long as Bristol City isn't moved and I can fully exploit pretty much living above a pub. Fair weather, obviously.

I know and i hope everyone can get their plans sorted.

But there is a positive side to it.

And not just because i can now see the game like people think, i may still go anyway.

I hope no one thinks i'm celebrating about it been moved because i can see it and not bothered about fans like yourself.

And i'm not starting an argument essex fox, others are with me.

I did nip into there as it happens. It was a bit too grungey for my taste these days.

They've opened one in Camden now also and I was in Oxford last week and saw some adverts for one there too.

I bet they'd manage it though, they do a pretty reasonable job of getting good viewing figures for games in half empty top flight grounds as it is.

A guy can dream, can't he??

Seriously though, I hope football does kill itself. Palm the Sky generation off onto the shoulders of cricket or rugby. That'd be a laugh.

Isn't the Bristol game on a Tuesday?

I can't wait 'til football completely fu cks itself. And prices become SO high that nobody goes to football grounds anymore. I'd love to see Sky market that. The stupid fu cking cancerous wankers.

Yep!

Bastards.

As said before, if football must take their dosh, then announce the bloody fixtures once at the start.

Not bugger about the real fans with a few weeks notice.

As for this sh*te argument that some more fans can see the games, then take it to the extreme and play all the sodding games on Monday night.

You leave cricket out of this.

Sky should leave sport alone full stop.

Yeah, it always has been though. Students though, they can get pissed up any night of the week :P

I don't proclaim to be 'more valuable' indeed, this is only my first season of going to every or the maximum away game. Maybe it is arrogant to only care about how I am going to see the game, then it seems I am arrogant.

I really feel for everyone else who now cannot go, I really, really do, but everyone else, i'm not particularly fussed about to be brutally honest

Not for me, and in my seemingly little arrogant world where I care about how I am going to see the game, I am not going to look on it and think, 'ah great, my plans have been fooked up, and it is going to disrupt maybe my whole week with rearrangements, but HEYYYYY, everyone else gets to see it.'

I have just realised that I am not that selfless when it comes to football

Well there is that but obviously that's only if I can actually go on my own or whether my brother can afford to come with me.

But I wouldn't be expecting my dad to let me go if he isn't going cuz he's rather protective you see lol So hopefully it being on a Monday hasn't completely f***** it up and stopped my dad from being able to take me!

I can't recall anyone claiming they're a better, or more valuable fan. Maddog doesn't think before he posts, which is the thing he doesn't realise or even consider. If you were in the same situation as people who get to most games, I'm pretty sure you'd say different. Just look at the people that his post infuriated, unsurprisingly, it's the people that go to most games.

Whereas I fully understand, it's a bonus for people who can't get to, or don't go to other games, the game being on SKY sometimes makes things worse for others. Look at Head Honcho having booked the hotel room for example.

A bit of consideration for others isn't too hard to ask for, is it?

Funny really. Cos my Dad didn't watch the game last night because there was a pub within 20 minutes walk which showed it without having to be a member and the only relative with Sky was out for the evening.

I agree, but whilst Sky and the governing bodies of most sports are run by complete helmets, it'll never happen. Especially when people pay the increased prices to attend the sports live regardless, and Sky continue to receive increased amounts of subscriptions.

It is Rob, it is.

How dare you even have the cheek to want to go to this game live.:angry:

Sort of my point really. If I was getting to more away games I'd be fuming if a game got moved and it put me out, but without "Doing an Ian C" and refusing outright to consider anyone else then it's a bit much to say they shouldn't be moved.

And no, no-one's said that but a couple of people have implied it quite hard.

Hopefully, I'll be able to get to the game still.

A couple of inconveniences to me, are that the people that I like to go to the games with probably won't be able to go now. I'll have to take time off work too, which in both cases before the game change, wouldn't have been so.

I hate it not being at the ground when we're playing more than anything. Ian C was a bit heavy handed in his response, and to an extent I agree with him.

I hope for your sake that Bristol City doesn't get moved, as you'll feel what a few people are feeling now, and as you may have gathered, it's not good.

I knew id get insults for saying it but i'm not going to be a sheep and just agree with the majority on here. I had what i thought to be a fair opinion, and still do regardless on the matter and posted it, knowing full well the reaction i would get.

And i have repeatedly said i'm not siding against the die hard awayers, and said i hope plans get sorted so to hint that i haven't showed any consideration is taking the piss a bit.

I know it makes things worse for others, i haven't taken sides at all, it's others who are taking sides.

I normally just laugh off posts on here but for you to come out with that has annoyed me a little, not that i will start the mindless insults like the ones thrown at me.

I also fully understand both sides to the argument and you have insinuated that i haven't.

Harsh very harsh.

I'm glad it's annoyed you, maybe that post has made you realise what your idiotic posts do to others. You piss me off daily, but I don't bitch about it.

Having checked it out, the dearest ticket for this match is £22.50, which is reasonable for a recently relegated Premiership team, which some people would've took advantage off, and bolstered our support, they won't bother and/or can't get there now.

You must be taking this forum far too seriously then.

And id say your post there is pretty idiotic, and some others in this thread, but certainly none of mine :D
