davieG Posted 24 June 2009 Posted 24 June 2009 from the Merc. The kick-off time for City's Championship game with Coventry City at the Ricoh Arena on Saturday, October 3, has been switched from 3pm to 12.30pm on police advice.
leicesterseddon Posted 24 June 2009 Posted 24 June 2009 If Peterborough/Cambs. Police move our KO time to forward to noon again I will be very angry. Date changes will be flying around next season, especially with the BBC and not being able to play on the same day as the eggchasers.
James. Posted 24 June 2009 Posted 24 June 2009 Must have been the shirt burning video that prompted this.
Kilworthfox Posted 24 June 2009 Posted 24 June 2009 from the Merc. Why, it didn't work before did it? Just inconvenienced a lot of fans.
Matt Posted 24 June 2009 Posted 24 June 2009 Why, it didn't work before did it? Just inconvenienced a lot of fans. You on about when it kicked off last time we played Cov and their shithole? That was a 3 O'Clock KO wasn't it?
Ultra Posted 24 June 2009 Posted 24 June 2009 Yeah, which allowed the Squad to kick off at a pub in the morning. A repeat performance was unlikely though, as half of them are still in jail..
Tommeh Posted 24 June 2009 Posted 24 June 2009 Was always going to happen, just be interesting to see if they cut the allcoation aswell after last times trouble. I'd rather travel back for a home game then make this trip, pure shite.
Edmund Posted 24 June 2009 Posted 24 June 2009 Must have been the shirt burning video that prompted this.
Matt Posted 24 June 2009 Posted 24 June 2009 Ahh well, just have to get boozed earlier. This. What the fook does a KO time matter - What is the point in moving it forward? If people want booze they'll get it, either before or after, If people want to kick off they will, either before or after. Tell you what, what a brain scientist the person who came up with the idea "I know lets move the KO time of a football match" is.
Koke Posted 24 June 2009 Posted 24 June 2009 Less time to drink, Matt. Some boozers won't open up that early, since last time it all turned nasty in the morning before the game at some pub. As Ultra said, most of them are still in jail so a repeat of last time is highly unlikely.
Bert Posted 24 June 2009 Posted 24 June 2009 It's just gonna mean everyone will get pissed up after. Should've left it at 3pm, because people are going to drink regardless of a kick off change, just like good old Tubes stated. Some pubs open at 9 - I could leave out from my house at just about half 8 and get there for opening time. The game will be done at 2.30 latest. What would everyone normally be doing at this time on Saturday? Going football - They won't have anything else to do, so they'll just end up in the pub.

Yeah I understand that it is less time in the boozers but what i'm saying is some pubs will still be open, and anyway whats stopping people from getting pissed with some cans at home or around the City before the game. If people want to get pissed there are ways and means, If people want to fight (And lets be honest most people that are involved in football violence organise it) they will. Also what is stopping people getting pissed after the match like Bert says and then kick off?

The area of Earlsdon where it kicked off last time has a Wetherspoons open at 9am I am reliably told.

Tell you what, what a brain scientist the person who came up with the idea "I know lets move the KO time of a football match" is. yeh, it probably wouldn't do much to prevent anything but the way they see it, they have done something so that if anything kicks off they can say that they moved the kick off time. It aint much but it makes it look like they took the possibility into consideration. People wont be able to say, why wasnt anything done to prevent this when its happened in the past.
Bluefoxtim Posted 24 June 2009 Posted 24 June 2009 Greattttt. Another reason for me to drop my saturday morning shifts.
Maybes Posted 24 June 2009 Posted 24 June 2009 To be fair, I will still get smashed and kick the shit into some cov tw@ts
Guest Bilo Posted 24 June 2009 Posted 24 June 2009 Breakfast at Spoons it is then. Washed down with a pint of IPA for 99p. That, dear friends, is how I roll.
john_lcfc Posted 24 June 2009 Posted 24 June 2009 egg chasing penis rubbing mickey mouse minnows from across the road fixtures have come out and the clashes are as follows: 26th December LCFC v Sheff United/Eggs v Sale......I wholeheartedly guarantee they will play on the 27th. shouldnt be an issue. 9th Jan LCFC v Ipswich/eggs v Wasps.....I would guess sky might show their match as it is a big match in that league apparently so hopefully there game will get moved? 24th October Reading v LCFC/London Irish v Eggs......Weirdly both Leicester clubs playing at the madejski on this weekend, again Im pretty sure Reading ALWAYS get priority in their own stadium FA CUP 6th Round date also clashes, though I doubt we will get that far/50/50 get a home game and they have about 2 Heinekan Cup dates yet to be drawn which could be at home. Means we may have to move once Im guessing. Sounds better than I had feared though?
john_lcfc Posted 24 June 2009 Posted 24 June 2009 p.s: im pretty sure that the Cov game will now be a TV game? Who has the early kick off package...sky isnt it?
lcfc_jme Posted 25 June 2009 Posted 25 June 2009 Cov away is shit anyway so I don't really care about this move too much. Fck it.
Bert Posted 25 June 2009 Posted 25 June 2009 p.s: im pretty sure that the Cov game will now be a TV game? Who has the early kick off package...sky isnt it? Doubtful.
Dan Posted 25 June 2009 Posted 25 June 2009 I'm not complaining about the fact the fans that caused the trouble last year got put in jail for it, but I am complaining that they got put there despite all these Millwall scumbags regularly causing trouble every week and they all got away with it. Its not fair. Also I thought this was one away game this season I didn't have to get up for. How wrong I was proven once again
Matt Posted 25 June 2009 Posted 25 June 2009 Official; Leicester City's scheduled Championship clash against Coventry City at the Ricoh Arena on Saturday, October 3 will now kick-off at 12.30pm.The fixture had been due to start at 3pm however on police advise the kick-off has been moved lunchtime. The two sides will meet for the first time since February 2008 when goals from Elliott Ward and Leon Best guided the Sky Blues to a 2-0 victory. Although it didn't kick off in Leicester presumably the game at the Walkers will be moved aswell?

Its not fair. Also I thought this was one away game this season I didn't have to get up for. How wrong I was proven once again Millwall continue to have problems with hooliganism, but I wouldn't say their fans cause trouble every week, or that they 'get away with' it. Indeed, if anything, the most common problem Millwall fans have is that the police are too heavy-handed towards them, because their reputation seems to go before them...
