Fosse Boy Posted 1 September 2009 Posted 1 September 2009 Colchester better get promoted. I want some local aways. The problem is I don't think they'll be local to me next season.
maddog Posted 1 September 2009 Posted 1 September 2009 I don't want to start another argument about this but moving the game and showing on Sky will benefit more Leicester fans than it troubles. And thats all i'm going to say, now swiftly leave this thread

Sky can do one, three times now it's fooked my plans up and a lot of others.

CosbehFox Posted 1 September 2009 Posted 1 September 2009 I can't we just do what the Dutch Leagues does and that's set dates and sort all this crap before publishing the list? Then TV have to work around the clubs and fans.
Matt Posted 1 September 2009 Posted 1 September 2009 ** **Other Football Stadiums are availiable - On this occasion though - The Madejski Stadium.
maddog Posted 1 September 2009 Posted 1 September 2009 Utter jerk off.Sky can do one, three times now it's fooked my plans up and a lot of others. What about the Leicester fans who may live away, who may previously have gone to a lot of games and now make very few, who would enjoy watching the match on tele? What about the thousands of current STH who could watch the match? I obviously have sympathy for people whos plans have been fooked, but you can still see the game anyway as can many thousands more. It's not all about the thousand or so fans who go to every away game you know.
AMYB101_LCFC Posted 1 September 2009 Posted 1 September 2009 I was meant to be going to Reading away but now they've changed it to the Monday night I doubt I'll be able to go now. I was going to go cuz it's close to me but if it's on a Monday night I dunno if my dad will still go and that now which means I can't go. It's annoying for me more than anything cuz I don't exactly get to go to many games cuz all games are away games for me They better not change any of the other games I'm meant to be going to this season!

If you're physically going to a game, you don't want Sky dictating to you when you can go. Kapesh?
Head Honcho Posted 1 September 2009 Posted 1 September 2009 I fvcking hate sky Missed the Newcastle game and now I'll miss the Reading game. I'll still be going to Reading on the Saturday as I'm booked into the Pentahotel for the night and got it 50% cheaper because I can't cancel.
James. Posted 1 September 2009 Posted 1 September 2009 I'll still be going to Reading on the Saturday as I'm booked into the Pentahotel for the night and got it 50% cheaper because I can't cancel. Just when you thought it couldn't get any worse you now have to spend a night in Reading for absolutely no reason.
maddog Posted 1 September 2009 Posted 1 September 2009 No, but if you're sitting on your arse watching Sky what the fook does it matter what day it's on. If you're physically going to a game, you don't want Sky dictating to you when you can go. Kapesh? Doesn't the fixture list do that before the season starts anyway? Theres still 8 weeks until the game, so time enough to alter things. Worst case scenario you can't change your plans but still get to see the game anyway. I just think some people on here are blindingly one sided when a kick off time is changed due to Sky, when there are many other true blue Leicester fans who may be desperate to see LCFC either at a game or on TV who can now see it. When before they wouldn't. But i hope everyone can get everything sorted anyway, i'm certainly not siding against you, and don't deserve the insults i knew id get, but i said it anyway

I obviously have sympathy for people whos plans have been fooked, but you can still see the game anyway as can many thousands more. It's not all about the thousand or so fans who go to every away game you know. Look at people like IOW Fox, who said earlier in the thread that this would be the closest game to him this season. He now might not be able to take his son because it's too late to get back to the island. If these far flung Foxiles can't get to games so often, then playing away games near their town can be a godsend. I know that as someone who spends more time down south than I do at home, and I'm sure if you moved away from Leicester/Leicestershire (I'm assuming that's where you live) then you'd probably feel the same. If these "thousands of ST holders" were desperate to watch the game, they'd be going, not sitting around twiddling their thumbs waiting for the off chance that Murdoch Industries get their way three or four times every season. Watching football on TV doesn't compare to watching it live, just because you can see it on a screen doesn't mean the experience is as good as watching it in the ground. It bloody well should be about the thousand or so fans who go to every away game because they're the ones who bother to support their team up and down the land, rain or shine, win or lose, top flight or JP Trophy. They're the ones whose needs should be looked after, not fair weather ****** like yourself or Sky subscribers who demand to be able to watch football all day every day even though they can't be arsed to to get of their settee and go to games. Your piss poor argument epitomises the views of idiots who get taken in by Sky propaganda with their ridiculous assertions that "they care about fans". It's one of the many reasons why modern football hacks me off so much, and yet I'm too young to have known football any other way!

It's not all about the thousand or so fans who go to every away game you know. They can always do what they would normally do when City are away. These people made the choice to either move, put their careers first or their families. Why it means that Sky should crap on those who make the choice to follow their club about the country just isn't right. Especially when the armchair fans complain about poor support.

It's one of the many reasons why modern football hacks me off so much, and yet I'm too young to have known football any other way! Theres another one theres just no need. And theres 10000+ STH and the allocation will obviously be much less so thats thousands who can now see the game. Sure they wouldn't have tried to get tickets anyway most of them, but maybe theres some who can't afford to travel/go to away games, some who would go but have work commitments, etc, i'm sure theres a lot more current STH who would go but can't for various reasons who can now see the game, than current STH whos plans have been foiled. Your argument is just one sided completely, i'm not against anyone.
lcfc_jme Posted 1 September 2009 Posted 1 September 2009 I can't wait 'til football completely fu cks itself. And prices become SO high that nobody goes to football grounds anymore. I'd love to see Sky market that. The stupid fu cking cancerous wankers.

Especially agree with the bit in bold. If I don't end up getting to go to Reading now then yeah I know I can watch it on tv, but like said above it's not the same!

But i hope everyone can get everything sorted anyway, i'm certainly not siding against you, and don't deserve the insults i knew id get, but i said it anyway Many people have to book transport and sometimes accommodation well in advance in order to keep the costs down and what is the point in clubs like LCFC selling home tickets for the whole season in advance when the date can be changed so easily. Football has evolved and existed off the back of fans actually going to games if they hadn't done so it probably wouldn't exist in it's current form. The game wouldn't even make a TV spectacle if it wasn't for fans in attendance, imagine what it would have been like watching last nights game on SKy in front of 2 men and a dog. I say all this even though I've actually gained from some games being on Sky.
Head Honcho Posted 1 September 2009 Posted 1 September 2009 Just when you thought it couldn't get any worse you now have to spend a night in Reading for absolutely no reason. It isn't that bad a night out to be honest. I was there a couple of weeks ago and was having a nice pub crawl until my wife spotted a Reflex bar and I had to spend the rest of the night wearing an affro

Your argument is just one sided completely, i'm not against anyone. You're making the assumption that every single season ticket holder tries to get a ticket to every single away game, and that everyone who attends away games is a ST holder. It doesn't work like that, so neither does that argument. I can't wait 'til football completely fu cks itself. And prices become SO high that nobody goes to football grounds anymore. I'd love to see Sky market that. The stupid fu cking cancerous wankers. I bet they'd manage it though, they do a pretty reasonable job of getting good viewing figures for games in half empty top flight grounds as it is.

What about the people who haven't got Sky? I can just accept fixtures being moved to a later time or a Sunday but to have three away games moved to weekday nights, it's frankly a crock of shite.

Joe. Posted 1 September 2009 Posted 1 September 2009 Damn, I was actually going to go to this as well. The pub probably beckons, we'll see.
