Maybes Posted 1 September 2009 Posted 1 September 2009 Suits me as Reading is the single worst away in the football league and I wouldn't have gone anyway... but come on!!! Feel for all the fans who woul've gone and will still go. Pretty much this.
Bert Posted 1 September 2009 Posted 1 September 2009 I'm one of the mugs that will still go. Simply because I've not been before. It's good for people that can't make the game though, but it makes the weekend boring! Also, it's a bit harsh that we have 2 games in five days, both travelling down south, with less recovery period and less time to prepare for the game.
Fox92 Posted 1 September 2009 Posted 1 September 2009 Frig me, I mean every away game that looks good and you want to go to, they screen on the television (well not every game), its not fair on the fans!!!!! Although I suppose you get to watch the game for free and spend it on something else.
Jimmy Posted 1 September 2009 Posted 1 September 2009 Now Monday 26th October Trip to Reading live on SkyPosted on: Tue 01 Sep 2009 Leicester City's October trip to the Madejski Stadium will be screened live on Sky. Kicking off at 8pm on Monday 26 October, it will be only our eighth ever trip to Reading - and our first visit since December 2005. It will be the first of two matches featuring City's travelling army that will screen on Sky that week, with our trip to Queens Park Rangers following on Friday 30 October. Ticket details are still to be confirmed at the time of writing.
Babylon Posted 1 September 2009 Posted 1 September 2009 Looking forward to a Birtles/Parry wank fest over Reading.
Ford Super Sunday Posted 1 September 2009 Posted 1 September 2009 Oh for god sake So Now I have to hope that my timetable doesn't interfere with the journey down south, I have to get back then be up again for a day at uni the very next day, I am gonna miss university badminton session on the Monday night, I am gonna be fooking bored on the Saturday AND there will be no highlighs on the BBCs Football League Show Just so 500,000 willy puller armchair football fans can gorm at us while we play Reading? Feck off, just feck off
Matt Posted 1 September 2009 Posted 1 September 2009 FFS! I was looking at going Reading too. On one hand atleast i'll still be able to see the game but on the other I hate being a 'armchair fan' and away week games are pretty much a no go, unlike Sky's main customers, 'proper' clubs like us with 'proper' fans would rather go to games than watch on tv.
Guest Posted 1 September 2009 Posted 1 September 2009 FUCK OFF. fook off Sky Sports. Oh for god sake So Now I have to hope that my timetable doesn't interfere with the journey down south, I have to get back then be up again for a day at uni the very next day, I am gonna miss university badminton session on the Monday night, I am gonna be fooking bored on the Saturday AND there will be no highlighs on the BBCs Football League Show Just so 500,000 willy puller armchair football fans can gorm at us while we play Reading? Feck off, just feck off Indeed. Angry? Just a bit. Murdoch - just fucking do one, you prick.
Ford Super Sunday Posted 1 September 2009 Posted 1 September 2009 Saturday, 24 October 2009 Barnsley v Bristol City, 15:00 Coventry v West Brom, 15:00 Crystal Palace v Nottm Forest, 15:00 Derby v QPR, 17:30 Newcastle v Doncaster, 15:00 Peterborough v S****horpe, 15:00 Plymouth v Ipswich, 15:00 Preston v Middlesbrough, 15:00 Reading v Leicester, 15:00 Sheff Utd v Cardiff, 15:00 Swansea v Blackpool, 15:00 Full fixture list for that weekend (the Watford-Sheff Wed is LIVE on FRIDAY night) With the Derby-QPR game live on the BBC (why the feck?) you can see why they have moved it, our game is, by far, the most attractive fixture in that list. Still should have fooking left it alone, tits. Starting to realise what Newcastle fans must feel like. And with QPR on the Friday, it's getting to be a bit of a joke. Don't even get me started on how unfair it is to play on the monday and THEN the Friday, just because of TV Sky Sports, the company the proclaims to feel the same way about football as we do... if that's the case, they can stop arranging live games on MONDAY fooking NIGHT.

C-man Posted 1 September 2009 Posted 1 September 2009 Personally, Sky have been a godsend for me this season so far. Moving Newcastle to a Monday night meant I could go, and I don't think I could afford to go to either Reading or QPR (still a bit tempted) anyway so to put them on TV is good for me. Will be interesting to see how many we take to Reading on a Monday night compared to Newcastle.... And our fans sung 'You're not famous anymore' last night.
Hitesh Posted 1 September 2009 Posted 1 September 2009 To be honest, it works out nicely that the Reading game will be on the Monday night because I'm working there that week and will be there if I can get a ticket!

I think they've picked the three most annoying games to show for me Weekend in Newcastle ruined, all day Saturday session at the nearest game to me (QPR) ruined, nostalgic night out with some friends I know from my time living in Reading ruined! Bah humbug!
Matt Posted 1 September 2009 Posted 1 September 2009 The Newcastle game being moved was neither here nor there for me - As I had planned to go but then realized I was away for that weekend so even if it was on the Saturday i'd have missed it and the fact it was on Sky gave me the chance to maybe see it - Unfortunately I didn't get to see it on Sky anyway. QPR - Abit annoyed, would have liked a Saturday session in London, but might go anyway, its the Friday, I finish early on a Friday (If i'm still working), and it's the start of the weekend not the end/start of the week, so I could go, not sure I will or won't though yet. Reading - I was actually looking at going to this, probably won't now. The main fact for me, is Football always was and always should be played at 3pm on a Saturday, When there is no football at 3pm on Saturdays my weekend feels empty and something is missing - Even this coming weekend won't be great because i'd much rather watch Leicester over England.

Guest Posted 1 September 2009 Posted 1 September 2009 This. I hate international breaks Don't get me started on that. I can remember when league football carried on as normal. It was only when clubs began filling their teams with internationals that it became an issue. From what I can remember, the England team was spread out across the top division, and because of this, there was more strength in depth for the national side, as clubs developed homegrown players. If that makes sense.

Sheff U v Cardiff will be a better game. Anyway, I don't even care about them moving it if i'm honest.

Fosse Boy Posted 1 September 2009 Posted 1 September 2009 If you all hate Sky Sports clap your hands!
Wycombe Fox Posted 1 September 2009 Posted 1 September 2009 I was looking forward to going to the Reading game with my nipper on the Saturday. Changing it to Monday night gives me all sorts of problems getting back to the island. Nearest game to me but probably won't be able to go now. Nipper was looking forward to it as well.

If that makes sense. The way I see it is like in Rugby, If you want the best players, you'll have to suffer the consequences when internationals pop up, We have what 2 regular internationals (King/Tunchev), tough we'll have to do without them (Not the either are playing for us regular at the moment), It might even make the 'big 4' think about who they sign or give the other teams a 'chance' as the 'big 4' teams squad will be cut right down and won't have most of their top players there. Perhaps i'm being abit harsh and the plan wouldn't work, but as you say in outside the Premiership clubs never had their games canceled - Wasn't the rule if you have 3 players or over on international duty you could cancel you game in the old days?

I can't remember the finer details, but I do agree with what you have posted. If teams want the "best", then they should suffer the consequences when those players are needed elsewhere. Exactly.
Fosse Boy Posted 1 September 2009 Posted 1 September 2009 Not sure whether I'll be able to get from Colchester to Reading and back now.
Corky Posted 1 September 2009 Posted 1 September 2009 Not sure whether I'll be able to get from Colchester to Reading and back now. Colchester better get promoted. I want some local aways.
